Trade Mark symbol

Hey everyone,
We are transforming from an IDOC to a XML, we have suddenly faced an issue with the TM symbol. It doesnt seem to parse the symbol the way it is suppossed to be. In the MFL file we have the codepage for that field as UTF-8. I am a little confused as to how should i continue with this going forward.
Any assistance regarding this and at the earliest will be highly appreciated.

Conversion used for displaying trade mark symbol in abap reports

One issue came Trademark symbolu2122 I have to print in that labelu2026. itu2019s a report. I want to know the hexadecimal value (conversion value) to print that symbol in reportu2026.using zebra printer I donu2019t know abt the zebra printer ,I have to give the correct conversion value in that prgu2026u2026u2026..i gave the value 2122 and later 99 I used but they r telling that stil v didnu2019t getting that TM symbol in their outputu2026u2026u2026..

It would not be feasible to upgrade at this moment, we are already in production and need a solution for showing infinity in PDF.
Can you suggest something using crystal formulas could be possible or any other solution please .

Reg : trade mark symbol(TM) in SAP Script output

Hi gurus,
i am using SAP Script to print a material description , when i tried to run the sript in debugging mode it is showing as trandemark symbol as(TM) but in output ( i.e in printing ) i am getting this value as # . for example if i material description is xxx(TM) , then in debugging it is showing as xxx(TM) , but while printing it is showing the value as xxx(#).how to overcome this . please help me on this.

The escape sequences are necessary to distinguish XML content and control signs such as &, < and >. The escape sequences start with an ampersand (&). For example: u2018&u2019 represents u2018&u2019 and u2018>u2019 represents u2018>u2019.
All XI components that convert between text and XML perform the escaping and deescaping of above-mentioned characters. In some cases, an external sender of an XML message does not provide this functionality and therefore a parsing error occurs
whenever an ampersand appears in the XML document. The only solution is to use a Java mapping before the actual mapping to perform the escaping.
So you need a Java mapping.

Immediately after a question mark symbol appeared on all my hard disk folders. If I click on these question marks I get a message saying ' the item can't be found'.

Not sure where these hard disk folders are located that you are referring to? Finder, Finder tool bar, Finder side bar, Desktop, Dock?
More then likely they are an alias that not longer point to the orginals, thus the question mark.
I would reboot. Delete icons if an alias and just recreate by dragging from the source. Try right click (control) click to remove.

Is new logo a trade mark?

Is it right that new logo is trade mark? In my humble opinion, it doesn't harmonize with open source ideology. If you are agreeable with me, can you remove (tm) from all pictures?

The Linux Mark Institute (http://www.linuxmark.org/) is the organisation that manages the Linux trademark (on behalf of Linus). To be honest I though this was only an issue if you try and register a trademark with the word "Linux" in, however, in the Linux Mark FAQ,

I can't help noticing the word "Linux" in the ArchLinux trademark, hence it seems that there may be a requirement to get in touch with the LMI.
One may infer that given that the LMI hasn't been chasing various Linux-named distros, that suggests that the LMI doesn't consider it a problem. Maybe that's right. But maybe it's because they're a small outfit and chasing hobby distros isn't high on their priorities. If it were me, based on what I've now read at the LMI site, I'd get in touch with them (because I'd want to be a good Linux citizen and not want to knowingly contravene the law) - hopefully they will say "don't worry about it ArchLinux is fine", etc, etc. I dunno, I believe there's a can of worms here that very few people are thinking about.

How to insert check mark symbol on ipad

I use the Apple keyboard/charger w/ iPad2, and wondering if there's a way to insert a check mark symbol in Notes either w/ the hardware keyboard or the touch screen keyboard

I don't see a checkmark on the touchscreen keyboard, even by holding down on the keys to bring up the optional symbols. You can go here and copy and paste. You have to go onto this site while using the iPad. You could bookmark it for easier access.

Unknown question mark symbol on Finder Window

Hi All,
I have noticed an awkward question mark symbol (?) on all of my Finder windows.
I don't understand what it means or how to remove it.
A snapshot of the problem is shown below :
Please note the grey "Question Mark - ?" on the top of the Finder window.
Any ideas on how to remove the mark ?
If the (? symbol) is clicked a dialog box appears saying "The item can't be found".

Yes. I overlooked this matter.
I was actually able to remove the symbol by (Command + drag out).
The symbol is gone !

How to see Sevice Mark symbol in SAP

We have been trying to attach a word document to SAP transaction code. But we are unable to see the Service Mark symbol in word document after uploading it in to SAP. It is showing different characters whereever the Service Mark symbol is there.

I get a question mark symbol on certain songs and a window pops up to find the song on my hard drive??? Help, this blows!

The odds are good that the file is still there. You can manually find the tune (this is a pain, & I'd love to know a better way of doing this).
In iTunes, under the iTunes menu, select preferences. Make sure tab in top left is "General". Look right under that for iTunes music folder location. That tells you where your music is.
When you get the file missing message say you'd like to locate it. Then navigate to that folder. iTunes generally organizes these things by artist, then album, then song, but sometimes the album will be in the compilations folder, and sometimes the artist will not be the album artist if there is more than one recognizable name on the song.
Check locations until you find the song & select it.
Sometimes it is easier to first browse the iTunes' folder directly from the finder finding where the tracks are, & then go directly there from iTunes.

Battery symbol with a question mark indicates no battery present in the device. You can try cleaning the battery contacts with a pencil eraser, or replacing the battery.

FR Report_ Display Mark Symbol

Hi All,
I am using FR 9.3.1 on windows 2003 server. I am trying to create a variance report and would like to know whether the following can be achieved or not.
Is there any possibility to have "Mark" symbol and "X" or "cross" symbol displayed next to my Variance % results if my results are positive ar negative. Example as below:
Actuals BUDGET Variance Variance%
Sales 400.02 658.10 27.74 7% (Here it would display a Tick Mark in green in the preview)
COGS 179.236 150.456 -20.145 -13% (Here would like to display "X" symbol in red in preview)
I can find the formatting option where the figures can be colored ad red or green using condition but not with Symbols.
Any help would be appreciated.

One option would be to use WingDings/Webdings font: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wingdings
You also have to make sure the fonts are installed on the FR server & PDF server I think (from memory, we reviewed this about 3 years ago).
If using Firefox as the web browser, rather than IE, I don't believe these will show up correctly so you might have to use unicode equivalents.

How do you copy the R shape symbol to show that a name is trade marked?

I clicked on the shapes buttom and the shapes came up on the menu bar. I found the symbol for registered trademark but could not figure out how to copy it to the back of the name that was registered. The same was true for the TM symbol. Please help. Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.
The Photoshop shapes are created by choosing the shape then dragging it out on the document. You can put it behind something (like a Text Layer) by dragging the shape layer below the text layer in the Layers Panel.
An alternative is to use type to create those common glyphs.

Check marks, symbols... some songs have them some don't want do they mean

I have purchased a few songs from the iTunes Store, copied some from CDs etc. Some of the songs have check marks some don't, some have this "radio like signal" in front of them some don't. What do these things mean? My real problem is, is that I can copy the songs with the "radio like signal sign" in front of them to my ipod but the others I can't copy or move anywhere, not playlists or on to my ipod. What am I doing incorrectly? Help!

The check boxes have a number of uses: iTunes: Understanding the Symbols Next to Songs
Unchecked songs will be skipped when playing songs from the library or a selection. They will only play when individually clicked on.
Smart Playlists have an option that unchecked songs won't appear.
Unchecked songs will not be burned to CD.
The iPod has an option to only sync checked songs
The Genius & iTunes DJ features will ignore unchecked songs
Basically unchecking is a way of telling iTunes to ignore the item and exclude it from other automatic features.
