Trading partner removel and its effects

My client has this scenario they want to see if they remove trading parner from the config what will be the effect of that, so i have these questions.  I will appriciate if some one can guide me on this.
1 If we remove trading partner what will be the effect on standard intercompany postings, intercompany clearing, logistics posting.
2 Need a background of why trading partner is used. How trading partner is used in consolidation.
3 If trading partner is removed how we are going to clear the older invoices, effect on open items, purchase order, sales order.
4 If trading partner is removed what will be the effect on reporting, impact on payment processing.
Thanks
Krishna

Hi,
1) Such transactions will no longer be identfiable as intercompany.
2) In a consolidation, all legal entities are treated as a single entity.(simple explanation) Hence any sales/purchases have to be eliminated which are between the entities involved
3) Old invoices can be cleared, the document types will have to permit mixed Trading partners in the document (Blank+ what was in the old document)
4) PAyment processing - no effect.
Reporting - Reconciling and identifying intercompany transaction will no longer be possible via SAP. This would have to be done outside of the system.
Kind regards

  • Partner Profile and its configuration.

    Hi all,
I am creating an SD IDoc using EDI and send it between two servers.
I need to know what is a partner profile and why should we create it.
what are the steps to be followed in maintaining a partner profile and its configuration.
Any pointers will be highly apppreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Jose,
Below is a material you can go through .
    Creating an Outbound Partner Profile
Here you must enter the data manually. Alternatively, you can also transfer the default values from Customizing.
If you are not yet on the change screen of your desired partner, choose SAP Menu ® Tools ® IDoc Interface/ALE ® Administration ® Runtime Settings ® Partner Agreement (WE20).
    1. Position the mouse on your partner in the required partner type node. Choose in the Outbound Parameter table.
    Key Fields
    2. You have already determined partner number and partner type in general partner processing. The partner function from the master data defines the addressee, that is, it is used for further classification purposes. If you have selected outbound processing under Message Control (MC), the function must be identical to the corresponding Message Control field. Otherwise, it is optional.
Partner A (customer 1110) wants to order a material from partner B (vendor 1014). Partner B is of the partner type “LI” (vendor) and must choose the Message Control value “VD” (vendor) as the partner function because orders must always be processed using Message Control.
    3. Specify the business process with the “logical” message, within which the IDoc type is used. The logical message is described by three parameters: The message type is based on EDIFACT message types: For example, a purchase order is of type “ORDERS”. You can further divide the message type with the optional fields message code and message function.
    4. Configure the test indicator if you want to send the message as a test.
Message, partner and test indicator are the seven key fields of the outbound partner profiles (the client comes in addition to these). Also see the graphic at the end of this section.
    Other Fields
    5. In the Outbound options tab page, you can determine whether IDocs are forwarded immediately to the receiving system. You should ensure that your entries are compatible with the Message Control priorities, if you have chosen outbound processing under Message Control. A list of recommended combinations is provided in the section Outbound Processing Under MC: Procedure.
    6. You have already defined the Recipient port in Port definition.
    7. If a port of type TRFC is used, the Queue Processing field is visible. You can use the indicator to specify whether IDocs are to be sent with qRFC. This sending technique is only possible for recipient SAP systems as of SAP Web AS 6.20.
You should only set this flag if it is really necessary that the IDocs sent are received in the receiving system in the same sequence as they were sent by the sender system. Queuing can cause posting delays in the receiving system, because an IDoc in the queue cannot be posted. In this case, the following IDocs in the queue cannot be posted until the error is resolved.
    8. If you have set the Queue Processing indicator, the Rule Name field, which you must then also maintain, appears as well. The rule name defines the rules for queue names. You can specify these rules in the transaction qRFC IDoc Queue Name Rules (WE85).
    9. Specify the IDoc type as the Basic type with or without extension. If you want to use a view of your IDoc type (for example, to improve the performance), specify this here.
The figure below shows the m-to-n relationship between logical messages (business meaning) and IDoc types (technical format). Message 1, for example, is always assigned to one IDoc type, while message 3 is assigned to two IDoc types. IDoc type 2, in turn, is also assigned to 2 logical messages.
    10. The segment release specifies the release from which the segment definitions (not the IDoc type definition) originates. We recommend that you leave this field blank so that the most recent segment definition is used.
    11. You can propose an EDI standard, version and EDI message type for the receiving system in the tab page EDI Standard. Most subsystems, however, should be able to determine these EDI settings themselves (from the logical message).
    12. You can define permitted agents for cases in which exceptions occur. This entry overrides the entry in the general partner profiles. Depending on the message, therefore, the exception can be handled by different agents of the same partner.
    13. You can specify whether syntax errors are to be ignored or are to lead to a processing error (Cancel Processing flag under syntax check in the tab page outbound options). For more information about exception handling and permitted agents, refer to the following section: Exception Handling
    14. If your hardware supports it, create partner and message specific telephony data for outbound IDocs. For more information, see General Partner Profile.
Graphic: Outbound partner profile fields (general)
Key fields are shown in gray. The values for partner, message and test indicator (and client) therefore provide a unique ID for the IDoc type in outbound processing.

  • Check table and its effect in AET - Application Enhancement Tool

    Hi fellows,
I created a Z-field using AET, and assigned a check table to it. I did not populate the dropbox values, as I have a check table for the field. As far as I know, a check table for a field means "you cannot enter a value which is not stored in the check table", is that false?
I made my field visible in the configuration, but I am able to enter any value in that field.
For your concern, the check table I assigned to my field is "BUT000". As you can tell, my aim is to restrict a user to enter a value here only by business partner numbers. I did check the structure INCL_EEW_BUT000 too, under the .INCLUDE here comes my new Z-field. When I click on it, it shows that its check table is BUT000, and its domain is BU_PARTNER, which comes with no surprise. Its length is 10 CHAR as well. But in the transaction, I am still able to enter any value there.
Is there any other thing I should be doing?
    Thanks,

    Closed.
Fyi, I've been testing AET with check table on an IDES system (SAP CRM 7.0). There are oss notes available about AET/check table program errors for SAP CRM 7.0 with correction instructions. In CRM 7.0 EhP1, that issue's been solved. In 7.0 EhP1 if you do exactly as I've done, no problems will occur about populating field values of the check table.

  • ICR Process 2 - Parallel Recon by Trading Partner (TP) and TP Profit Center

    Experts,
At my current implementation, I would like to reconcile accounts (Process 2) by trading partner, and also by trading partner profit center, essentially reconciling the same data for a period in two different ways. Instead of reconciling data the first way and then backing up the period, and reconciling the second in ICR; is it possible to run two different special reconciliation ledgers for Process two and use one to reconcile with a set of rules for trading partner and the second to reconcile with a set of rules for trading partner profit center? It appears I could create a reconciliation process 4 in the FBIC010 & FBRC7 and assign a secondary special ledger to it, but how would ICR know to look for the right recon ledger when you run FBICA2 and FBICR2?
Does anyone have experience and can chime in on this scenario?
    Please Advise
    Thanks!
    John Scime

I needed to update the field movement in the reconcilation ledger.
The hierarchy with TP PC is showing up now but some documents are not appearing in the reconciliation display. I am going to delete the transactional data index tables and post fresh. I think that will solve the display issue as it has in the past.
I am using two sets one for all Intercompany Accoutns in the reconcilation ledger, and another for all profit centers. I am matching the sets against themselves for the object groups (ie compare all accounts against all accounts...all PC against all PC)
Is there anythign i should investigate Link[Take at the InterCo PC Recon Here|http://img717.imageshack.us/i/26681721.png/]

  • Deploying new portal and its effect on the old desktop

I have an application which has few .portal files which are then converted to desktop in production through admin portal.
Now i changed my source code and create a new ear file and deploy it in the prod environment.
    1) What will be the effect of the new deployment and changed codebase for the underlying .portal file on the old desktop created.
    2) Do i need to create the desktop again everytime i deploy a new update ear file?
    3) what if i dont update?
Any documentation pointing the specific exact anwers to above questions.
    Thanks

When you say changed code base do you mean you have added /removed books /pages? If so these wont be picked up by the deploy
    1) None , deployment does not affect the desktop created.
2)No , you only need to modify the desktop if you want your changes to be picked or if you want to make changes manually.
However your best bet is to use propagation to make the changes
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs102/prodOps/propTool.html
even if you create a new desktop based on a .portal which has changed , then you are prompted what you want to do, and you can decide accordingly (e.g. choosing replace affects the already created desktop)
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs102/portals/creating_staging.html#wp1014475
Its easier to test out the changes on a staging server and propagate the changes once your sure everything works. Note that so far propagation has never worked correctly all the time so backup everything (including the embedded LDAP)
    3) No Book/Page changes are picked up
Note these answers apply to portal 8.1. they may have changed in whatever version you use. read the propagation documents on edocs

  • Phase game and its effect on iPod buttons...

    Hey,
I recently purchased the Phase game from iTunes (amazing!) but I'm a little concerned. On expert, it has a lot of button pushing happening, and I'm worried that it might break the buttons on the iPod. After all, they weren't designed to for game playing, they were designed to be used occasionally to skip tracks (i mean, when I play music, I really don't hit the skip and rewind buttons that much).
Do you think that this could have an effect on the durability of the buttosn and how long they will last?

    Hi Experts,
My client is going to create a new plant in SAP so I would like to know as to what effects does it have in FI/CO.
New plant is proposed to use functions FI, CO, SD, MM-WM and QM
I am aware that it needs to be assigned to company code and certain account determination may change depending on the way transactions take place in new plant.
Other than above, I would like to know if there are any specific points on which I need to concentrate and take care to ensure a smooth flow in FI/CO and no break up of existing system.
    Thanks,
    GAN

    HI,
Below points you have to look.
1.Assigning new plant to company code and then assignment of purchasing organization to plant.
2.Vital steps:-Need to active your valuation area(new plant) in OMWD t.code with valuation grouping code.
    3.Maintain MRP Controller/Controllers
4.Assign sales organization, – distribution channel – & new plant
5.Active quantity & value updation for new plant for all material types
6.Use LSMW or BDC with MMZ1 t.code for material ( old material or used material) uploading to new plant.
7.All info record need to be created with LSMW
8.Creation of any valuation types & MRP data
9.For new plant Excise Reg. number need to be assigned in Maintaining Plant Settings(

  • MSI GT683 vs MSI GX600: USB noise and its effects on touchscreen devices

    Hello friends,
I would like to share my findings regarding USB charging noise on both GT683 and GX600.
The GT683 is a powerhouse if I ever saw one and using and application called i-charger, it can charge an iPad and eliminate the "Not Charging" problem. But there's a problem to it. Charger Noise.
Plugging and iPod Touch Fourth Gen in of the USB ports degrades the accuracy of the touch screen. Plugging a PS Vita in any of the ports results in completely unresponsive touchscreen. PS Vita needs to have a responsive touch screen to copy multimedia files from a PC to the Vita.
I was able to over come this by using a 10 port USB hub (which requires power), unplugged the power adapter, plugged in a notebook cooler, a battery than can be charged using a USB and a bluetooth receiver for my keyboard and mouse. The reason I did this is to remove excess noise by consuming excess microAmps.
I never... ever once encountered this with my MSI GX600. I plugged in my iPod and PS Vita in my aging laptop but it still worked. That damn notebook is hard to put down and I still keep it. Never thought that MSI would build usb ports on new laptops in such a poor and cheap condition.
I really don't know if there are long term effects on this but I highly recommend not to charge any of your devices on your laptop. Go buy an expensive branded charger if possible.
Here are some resources I found regarding charger noise:

  • Column order in the index and its effects

Lets say i've an index called ind_tab3 which is made up of two columns in the following order (col1,col2). If query comes against the table with WHERE clause like 'WHERE col2 =35' , will the ind_tab3 index be used. If this index is not used for this query, then what is the point of creating composite indexes? I know that an Index is created automatically for a primary key , which can be composite . So lets ignore this on our discussion.

    My point is:
    1) review every query on your system
    2) then choose an appropriate indexing strategy
So if the col2 value is not used in an AND
clause either, the ind_tab3 index wouldn't be
used at all. Right?David replied to that. Index skip scan or index fast full scan MIGHT kick in.

  • Hard drive size and its effect on battery life

My hard drive recently failed on my powerbook and am in the market for a new one. Though the original was only 60GB I have settled on buying either a 120GB or 160GB probably from seagate (momentus 5400.3) or possibly Hitachi.
I was just wondering how much have a bigger hard drive reduces battery life? What will the diffence be having a 120 rather than 60? And would it be that much worse getting the 160? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you look at the Seagate hard drive specs at http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/datasheet/disc/dsmomentus5400.pdf you'll see that all of their drives use the same levels of power.

  • Raw Material price change and its effect in costing of Quotation.

I have a scenario in which the Quotation is given on 11th May, and the costing of the Order is done where the Raw materials Details along with overhead costs is determined, and then sales value is quoted, after the production is done after 2 months, and at the time of dispath there is a change in the price of raw materials. The user wants to known that the net loss or profit against that order due to price change in the Raw material.
Will it be possible at the sales Order Level and whether it will give the costing as per the current RM rates.

I think the best way is to use a Make to order scenario with cost calculation in the order. the calculated cost is then stored in EK02 condition, the at invoicing time you can calculate the variance in CO/PA between real cost and estimated cost.
You have to ask the help of smart CO guy to do this.
