Traffic-export capturing only inbound traffic

Hi
We have a Cisco 2811 running ITP IOS.  On that router we run the SMPP service.  A client on the network connects to this service, and we need to capture the traffic for debug.
I've tried traffic-export, but I cannot see any outbound traffic.
I'm guessing that this is due to the fact that the outbound SMPP traffic is not transit traffic as it is generated by the router itself.
Is there any way to capture the outbound traffic?
Thanks
Colin

Hi Colin,
Please see below
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios-xml/ios/sec_usr_cfg/configuration/12-4/sec-ip-traff-export.html
Step 8
outgoing            {access-list{standard | extended | named} | sample one-in-every packet-number}
Example: Router(config-rite)# outgoing sample one-in-every 50
(Optional) Configures filtering for outgoing export traffic.
Note
If you issue this command, you must also issue the bidirectional  command, which enables outgoing traffic to be exported. However, only  routed traffic (such as passthrough traffic) is exported; that is,  traffic that originates from the network device is not exported.
An option might be to plug in to a cisco switch and SPAN the port to an interface with a sniffer on it like wireshark?

  • Nexus1000v local SPAN can't capture inbound traffic

    hi all,
I just configured local SPAN on nexus1000v (version 1.3d).
local SPAN source and destination is on same VEM.
    my config is like below:
    monitor session 3
      source interface Vethernet13 both
      destination interface Vethernet170
      destination interface Vethernet36
      no shut
    SPAN session is up.
But we can't see any inbound traffic to the source VM.
(10.16.185.4,5,6 is the IPs of SPAN source)

    Hi Michael,
Thanks. You are correct. We are able to see outbound traffic from SPAN source but not inbound traffic to SPAN source.
Note: I have done vmotion for the SPAN source and SPAN destination virtual machines.
Please see the below output which you requested.

  • Capture all VPN traffic?

I downloaded Microsoft Network Monitor and I'm trying to look at all the traffic going on on the remote network. I enabled NDISWANBH (WAN Miniport) only to capture the PPP traffic. I have set up PPTP VPN and can connect to (and browse) the remote network
    just fine.
But when I tried to capture all the traffic on the VPN network, it only showed my computer's IP address (the local one when connected to the network 192.168.1.200) and the remote router's IP address (192.168.1.1).
I'm looking to capture what the other computers and devices (that are on the remote network) are doing. How do I do that?

When you start network monitor, you need to select NDISWAN from select networks. You should see this option on the start page when you launch Network Monitor.
BTW, Message Analyzer (http://blogs.technet.com/MessageAnalyzer), the eventual replacement for Network Monitor, can also capture tunnel traffic, but intstead it uses a firewall driver to capture the
data.  Perhaps this is another option for you.
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • RV110W Blocks all inbound traffic

I have a RV110W that's been in service since Dec 2012. All Everything is working fine except every month or so the firewall starts blocking all inbound traffic. It does not respond to remote management access. If I reboot the firewall (pwr off/on) everything works correctly for the next month or so and then it begins blocking all inbound traffic again. Local access to the Internet and VPN tunneling are not affected. When it's working, all my rules and port forwarding work correctly. Anybody seen this before?

  • Inbound traffic alert (ESET) - Application: System

    I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2
I have installed ESET Cyber Security Pro a while ago, and an inbound traffic alert just popped up. "A remote computer is attempting to communicate with an application running on this computer. Do you wish to allow this communication?"
The application involved is "System", local port is TCP 8770. The remote computer is fe80::4c8d:97ff:feb4:5d8d, remote port is 56398.
I am still new to Mac, and therefore I'm not sure if I should allow or block. I thought that it might be system updates, but not too sure about that so I'd rather wait for an answer before proceeding.

Port 8770 is used for the Digital Photo Access Protocol, which in the case of a Mac means sharing of photos. I'm not sure exactly how this port is used in Yosemite, but you can bet this is just another Mac or iOS device on your local network querying your Mac to see if it is sharing any photos. It is very unlikely that you have a network configuration that would even allow a truly "remote" computer to connect to yours over the internet.
ESET is wasting your time here. Uninstall it, and see my Mac Malware Guide for more information about protecting yourself from malware.

  • Route only some traffic trough VPN

Is it possible to route only certain traffic through VPN and other through default gw route?
I have tried to google it, i didn't find anything usefull.
    Thank you

Replace 'eth1' with 'ppp0' or 'tun0' or whatever your VPN interface is:
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 63#p497763
Then for the ports you want to send via the VPN, add a rule like this:
    iptables -t mangle -A OUTPUT -p tcp --dport XX -m state --state NEW -j MARK --set-mark 102

  • Change Km's to miles & why do I only have traffic ...

Just purchased the Nokia 5800 last week.  Did I purchase the U.S. phone or the INTERNATIONAL phone? I ask because I'm having some issues with Nokia maps. Distances are measured in km and this phone seems to only have traffic updates for European countries. Can anyone help.

There are are certain functions that can only be executed during the "WhilePrintingRecords" pass of the report execution. Any formula that uses one of these functions cannot be summarized.
Also any formula that is is based on aggregated values cannot be summarized.

  • GR to be done against only Inbound delivery for selected vendors

GR to be done against only Inbound delivery for selected vendors. If the user putsthe combination " Goods Receipt+ Purchase Order+ Purchase Order Number " in MIGO , the error should be displayed as "Create MIGO with Ref to ASN"
     At the time of MIGO, when user put the combination of Goods Receipt+ Purchase Order and purchase order number, BADI will activate.
     BADI will search the vendor code from the entered purchase order in the Z table in which user maintain the vendor codes.
     If BADI finds the vendor code in the Z table then, will give error as u201CPlease create inbound delivery firstu201D.
     If BADI does not find the vendor code in Z table then it will inactive.
     In short we are restricting the selected vendor for MIGO with reference to PO.

    Hi,
If u had used confirmation control key (0001) - In Item details of PO, as per standard SAP u cannot proceed for GR without inbound delivery. Otherwise use MB_MIGO_BADI. Thanking you

  • HT201302 Old iphone 3g has photos on it. When I plug into my imac iphoto and image capture only bring up photos in the camera roll. There were more photos on albums and photo library on the iphone that arent showing up in iphoto and icapture.

My old iphone 3g has photos on it. When I try to get the photos off and onto my imac iphoto and image capture only bring up the camera roll. I have more pictures that arent on the camera roll there are albums and a photo library full of pictures that I want off of this dang phone. I have tried everything and I cant email them to myself because the service has been cut off of the phone. They are stuck on the phone there is there any way to get them off? Am I missing something.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.
Again, the photo sync is one way.
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your old computer?
Not good.  You can e-mail the photos from your iphone.  You do not need to have phoe service for this.  The iphone uses wi-fi.  The photos will never be of the original quality, as they are reduced when synced to iphone.

  • Export ABAP only from BI ABAP-JAVA system

    Hi All,
We have several problems with an BI 7.0 system.
on this system is ABAP and BI JAVA installed.
is it possible to export the ABAP part <u>ONLY</u> and use this for  a new installation ??
Thisnew  installation must include ABAP and BI JAVA.
are there some notes for it?? and is this supported by SAP??
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Yes this is possible. Under the link http://service.sap.com/instguides follow to the system copy part and there you get the documents pertaining to the export of only ABAP part from the dual stack.
It should be possible for you take it up from there on.

What you could do now is break up your video into smaller parts and render them out, then assemble them again as a whole.
I know this is not the best fix, but it might work.
You can duplicate an edit in the main screen, then delete the last bits and export,
do the same for the other half.
Then import the two bits (or more if you need) in a new edit.
Out of curiosity, can you post what format the video is in?
Copy a video straight from the camera to your computer.
Open it in Quicktime player, and with out playing type Apple + i
or Control + i for PCs
It should tell you lots of info about the video, and might help us to see what is wrong.
This is what it looks like:

  • Capture only the email address in a muse form

How do you create a form in Muse where you capture only the email address?

If it is actually an Acroform as you imply, then open the form tools, double click the submit button (or right click and select properties), go to the last tab, highlight the submit, and edit it. You can change the submit properites there. If you used Designer for the form, then ask in the LiveCycle forum. The process for Designer is quite a bit different.

  • Archive a FCP Project to DVD (with used captures only)

Is there a way to backup a project with USED Captures only.
So, the FCP file with the used captures, delteing all the unused captures.
Would be a great option to use or make correction in the future!

Backing up to DVD is probably the worst type of archive, not just because of the limited data space available but because the disks do deteriorate as a vastly increased speed compared to tape.
Even hard drives, if used for archiving and just left on a shelf can fail because they are not used!
Tape is still the best and most reliable.
We've been experimenting with Bluray data backups but of course, always have a tape back up on top of that!

  • Goldengate DDL Capture only for 'ADDING and DELETING' a column

    Hi

    GG Version: 11.2
    Target Oracle 11.2
I am configuring the replication between oracle-oracle and regarding DDL replication ,for few tables , in addition to the DML replication , i want to capture only the DDL's related to the structure changes to the table (only adding or deleting a column) and noting else for ddl. For this ,  is the below command sufficient for my requirement or do i need to have the 'exculde' parameter specifying all those that needs to be excluded. If anything else needs to be configured , please let me know .
DDL INCLUDE MAPPED include optype 'alter'
    Thanks in advance.

yes your command is sufficient for alteration...
    example:

    OBJTYPE ‘table’ &
    OBJNAME “scott.tab*” &
    INCLUDE MAPPED OBJNAME “*” &

  • Premiere Pro Can Capture Only One Stereo Pair?

I'm thinking of getting PPro CS 5.5, so I'm reading the Help file to learn about it first and I came across this listed under "Importing Digital Audio":
    1) "Although the DV format can record two independent stereo audio pairs, Premiere Pro can capture only one stereo pair.
It may be possible to select either stereo pair 1, stereo pair 2, or a mix of both, depending on the DV hardware you use."
Does this mean if I have 2 mic's connected to my camera, PPro can only capture 1 stereo pair or the other or a "mix" of both?  What does that mean?
Would I be able to edit both stereo pairs as separate tracks on the timeline?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Harm,
The specs on the Canon HV20 say DV can do 2  channels in 16 bit mode and 4 channels in 12 bit mode.
But I want to start using HDV, which can only do 2 channels in 16 bit mode.  HDV uses MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2, 16 bit, 48 kHz, transfer rate 384 kbps (2 channels).
The DV settings are PCM digital sound with 2 modes: 16 bit, 48 kHz/2 channels and in 12 bit mode is 32 kHz/4 channels.
Is a "stereo pair" 2 channels?
