Traffic Generating using Smartbits

How to make SmartBits 6000C generate Ethernet traffic from LabView?
I have a DLL for SmartBits and I'm able to connect it.
Could someone advise something?

There is explanation on how to Control an Instrument. The function HTGetStructure is mainly used there. As far as I understand I have to use similar approach using function HTSetStructure (in order to set up transmit parameters) isn't it?
You will need to review the documentation for the SmartBits dll in order to determine which functions you will need to use.

  • Very high data traffic generated by Nokia Messagin...

Is anyone else seeing really high data use on their phone log following last week's Messaging outage?
Up until last week's outage, the data traffic generated by Messaging was about 5kb an hour (with no new emails sent or received). Presumably this small amount of data traffic results from the Nokia email server "pinging" the phone periodically to keep the connection open.
But after last week's outage and issues with passwords being requested etc etc, I saw that the data traffic generated by the Messaging app has gone through the roof - about 400 - 500kb an hour!  Again, this is with no new emails sent or received - so theoretically is just the server pinging the phone to keep the idle connection open!
I reinstalled Nokia Messaging on my phone (E61i) - no difference - the data generated by the Messaging app is still 400 - 500 kb an hour (it stops when I take Messaging offline).
I have friends roaming in Ireland and their phone has had the same problem - the data traffic generated by their Messaging app is sky high and they have had to shut it down because of the high cost of data whilst roaming.
I also newly installed Messaging on another phone (N95) that I have, using a brand new email account and a new T-mobile SIM card, and guess what - that phone also has sky high data traffic due to Messaging.
What is going on??  Can someone at Nokia Messaging please sort this out?  Anyone roaming with Nokia Messaging enabled is facing hugh data charges from their network.

The data traffic occurs in phones which are on a home network (mine in the UK) and on a roaming network (my friends traveling in Ireland).  Interestingly, I've now checked with another friend who is roaming in Italy and they also use Messaging but haven't seen any high packet data issues with their phone.
The data traffic shows up in the Packet Log, as well as on the actual T-Mobile network account (plus the charges for the data!)  Accessing a T-Mobile UK account online shows all packet data use - in this case, 120-150 kb every 15 minutes, whereas before last week it was 1-2kb every 15 minutes.
When I "Go Offline" with Nokia Messaging, the high data traffic stops, both on the Packet Log and network account, so I am 100% certain this is due to Messaging.

  • Traffic Generator with Statistical Capability

I am looking for a traffic generator that I can use to simulate Video traffic (Qos, Packet Size, Continuous Streaming, etc.)
across the network. IP SLA UDP jitter is close but it is not a continuous stream and from viewing the documentation I'm not sure
the timeouts and frequency can be adjusted to give a continuous stream. So does anyone know of a traffic generator (software based)
that I can load on two laptops where on is the source and the other the receiver where I can pull statisitcs for latency, jitter, and lost packets?
    Thanks for your help...

I have used iPerf for similar type testing:

  • How to totally turn off data traffic when using ma...

    Nokia N8-00:
I only use the integrated gps and have turned off the assisted gps, net based gps and Wi-Fi/Network but when accessing maps it still generates data traffic.
Normally this is´nt a problem but when traveling abroad data traffic costs a small fortune.
In my old N95 when I downloaded offline maps and turned everything but integrated gps off there was no data traffic at all but even after the latest maps updates (i.e. yesterday) it appears that the maps still needs downloading when accessed...
Any suggestions how to completely avoid data traffic when using maps?

Set all destinations to always ask and select no whenever the phone gives you a request, set Maps to offline, and set location to just use intergrated GPS. By the way, just been to Portugal using Vodafone and data charges only about £5 for week, and they've just improved allowances, may be worth checking your service providers web site and see if it's necessary to bother about data roaming, they all tend to follow each other, and Data roaming charges in europe seem to be coming down !

  • QoS Marking Traffic Generated by Network Device

I am working on defining QoS configuration standards for Catalyst 3750, 4500 and 6500 platforms. I would like to provide preferred treatment to some of the protocols commonly used for network management (i.e. telnet, ssh, etc...). I have no issues with classifying and marking traffic generated by a NMS or PC connected to a switch but I can not figure out how to classify and mark traffic generated by the switch itself. It won't do any good if traffic from the NMS or PC to the device is preferred but the response from the device is unmarked/best effort.
The only way that I can see to do this is to apply an input policy on the upstream device to classify and mark the network management traffic. I would prefer to do it on the device itself. Does anyone know if that is possible?
I'm assuming that any traffic generated by the switch would be ignored by an output policy, similar to the way that traffic generated by the device will by-pass access-lists. Even if this is a bad assumption the 3750 does not support output policies, so I'd still be stuck there.
It was suggested that I look into applying the policy to the control plane however on the platforms that options is available, policies can only be applied to the input. Which I believe is the wrong direction.
Anyone have other suggestions on how to accomplish this or is this a lost cause?

You can use local PBR to do this. Check out the local policy-map

  • Network Traffic Generator

    Hi all
Could anyone suggest me a good Network Traffic Generator software (Free ofcourse or cheap ones) in windows platform? I am trying to setup a network where I can test and analyse the issues with VoIP packets under heavy traffic conditions. Please suggest!! I am struggling to find one. Thanks.

    Hi ADITYA
    Can you find the below?.
1- For traffic generation Windows is pretty bad, especially UDP traffic  at any decent rates.
2-I would recommend the IP SLA feature in IOS to simulate VoIP and the statistics it generates are very good.

  • How can you create a test plan generator using labview

I am looking to create a testplan generator using labview to help RF Engineers translate test requirements into test parameters and wanted to know how i can go about it.

Have you considered to use Teststand? Teststand organizes all the tests and allows to parameterize them.
Creating a tool with a similar functionality will be more expensive than buying Teststand and modifing the operator interface.

  • Line Item : New dispaly field for Report generated using Tcode FBL1N

    Hi Geeks,
I want to display further fields in the line item report generated using Tcode FBL1N . i have refered OSS note 373268 it only discuss about fields available from index table ( BSID/BSAD/BSIK/BASK/BSIS/BSAS ) and special field from tables ( BKPF, BSEG, BSEC, BSED... ) using FAKP .My requirement is to add NAME1 from LFA1. Pls suggest a solution.
    Thanks,

    Hi Ushma,
Its possible. No need to cpy into Z transaction.  You'll have to use a BTE for it.
    Go to FIBF.
    Create a 'Z' product.
Put your own. Goto settings-> P/S modules-> of a customer.
Now in the event 00001650 of z product there is a function module.
    It'll be 'LINE_ITEMS_GET_GKONT'.
make a z by copying this and then put it here.
    Put code in that ZLINE_ITEMS_GET_GKONT.
Also create append structure in RFPOS and RFPOSX with the fields you want.
    And activate.

  • Sync Text alignment in HTMLEditor and a PDF generated using FOP

    Hi,
How to sync text alignment in HTMLEditor and a PDF generated using FOP ?
I tried setting the dimensions of HTMLEditor and PDF in pixels by calculating the size in Pixels for A4 paper size with a particular dpi value.
Have done the font settings as well. The problem is I see uneven line cuts in the PDF as compared to HTMLEditor.
    Thanks.

It's not a realistic expectation. You are expecting the PDF produced by whoever provided your FOP implementation to observe exactly the same typographical rules as HTMLEditor. Basically it won't, and there is no way to enforce it. Line breaking/hyphenation/word spacing algorithms can be of great complexity. You are expecting two systems that aren't specified to agree, to agree.

First - you're responding to a year-old message. I doubt the OP is still around.
Second - DSA is a Digital Signature Algorithm. The error tells you exactly what the problem is - DSA is not an encryption algorithm, and can't be used as one.

  • Re: How to disable MIG 7 Traffic Generator in simulation

    Hi Everyone,
I was wondering how can I disable vivado traffic generator in simulation?
I have fine tune my DDR channel and need to disable traffic generator for simulation purposes, however, I don't see any option in MIG7 GUI interface, or any parameter that I can pass to traffic generator from my top level simulaion file to stop traffic generator for issuing command and putting random rd/wr data on my  DDR bus.
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
If you generate the IP alone there will not any tarffic gen, only example design comes with tarffic gen(right click on .xci and choose example design)
So while generating the IP there is no GUI option to disable traffci gen.
But if you attempt to link user deisgn top with memory model then you have to be ultimately careful in passign the parameters and mapping the signals
instead if you are running MIG example design simulation but wanted to drive your own tarffic,  you can simply commet out tarffic gen in example_top and have your own fsm for driving the MIG user intefrace.
    Hope this helps

  • How to create an RDBMS event generator using wlst on weblogic 10.3

how to create an RDBMS event generator using wlst on weblogic 10.3, i got a code fragment needing class "com.bea.wli.management.configuration.RDBMSEventGenChannelConfiguration"
but i can' t find this class in classpath on weblogic 10.3, pls help me, thanks. code sample is better.

    Hi,
RDBMS Event Generator Channel Rule Definition
When you are creating channel rule definitions in the WebLogic Integration Administration Console, it is recommended that you do not use the Back button if you want to resubmit the details on a page.
You should always use the navigation links provided and create a new channel rule definition.

This problem has been seen in the past when defining the channel rule for an RDBMS Event Generator if schema name was specified with the incorrect case (i.e. lowercase when it should have been uppercase or vice versa). To that end, it is suggested to change the case of the schema when creating the channel rule

  • Programs generated using ABAP query vanishes after upgrade

    Hi all,
The programs generated using abap query in sq01 vanishes after upgrading from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 system.
Is this a know issue, do we have a solution for this?
    Can anyone help
    Thanks
    Senthil

    Hi,
Try to generate the Queries again in the new system...using the FM : RSAQ_GENERATE_PROGRAM
The input needed is the Query name and the usergroup...The details can be obtained from the table AQLQCAT(local queries areas) and AQGQCAT(global areas queries).
Once you generate the query , a program gets created...
if you have lots of queries to be genretated, write a custom report by fetching the data from the above tables and use the FM to generate the same...
    Hope this helps you..
    Reward if useful
    Regards
