Training Guide generating far too few screenshots

I am using UPK 3.6.1, recording Fusion CRM in a Firefox 3.5.16 browser. I've run into a situation I've never seen before with other UPK recording and output. I am using 'Topic Settings' for the screenshots section when publishing.
In other recordings (PeopleSoft and Siebel mostly), UPK has been smart about how many screen shots it prints out for a training guide. If the script fills in 8 fields on the same page, you will see one screen shot with 8 steps in the document. I did not get that result at all with a 179-step topic for some reason. The training guide had 3 screen shots in it when I first published it, which is not very useful. I then changed an option to generate a screenshot with every step. That produced a very large document. There does not seem to be an in-between option for our particular topic output. It’s like UPK tried to be smart, but somehow concluded that all steps after the third screen shot were from that one screen shot.
Am I missing some simple step? How does the tool decide when to generate a screen shot for a training guide when all frames are set to "Auto select screenshot to publish"?

By default, UPK will generate a screenshot each time the context of the application changes. The context of the application is sometimes visually equivalent to a screen within an application. In these cases, you would get a new screenshot whenever the screen changes significantly.
UPK also allows you to identify which screens will be included in document outputs when "Topic Settings" is selected during publishing. See "Change the Print Setting" section in the Content Development.pdf for more information.
You should probably log a support ticket to determine if your recorder is capturing as much context information as is expected.

I accidentally associated an Adobe AIR file to open Adobe Acrobat in it's stead, now an otherwise easily fixed problem has been causing me far too much anger.
Basically I downloaded an .air file after recently reformatting my computer, and I tried to open it with Acrobat. Now, since there is no actual application and or shortcut created by AIR I can't just tell the file to use that. I've found that I'm not alone in this issue, have tried a few things I've read on both this forum and others, and have come to no resolution as of yet. This file isn't anything of any great significance, but it bugs me so much that at this point I just want to know how to fix this and win this little battle.

I opened the resource monitor and you can see a screenshot of what is going on when I try to save a simple, 9 Kb graphic. (I'm saving an RGB JPG, not a PNG or animated GIF file. Doing anything complex / memory intensive than saving or simple edits in PS is almost impossible.)
As you can see from the screencap below, when I save (it doesn't make a difference if it is save vs. save to web or a network or local drive) Photoshop becomes unresponsive. (From past experiences, if I try to switch to a non-Adobe program it will also freeze and sometimes crash.) When PS becomes unresponsive, the NT Kernel & System immediately goes to the top of the list and uses 200+ threads.
From there Photoshop will typically be frozen for about a minute, then will recover and take another minute or two to finish the save. At that point PS is okay, but the rest of the computer is still frozen with CPU oscillating up to almost 100%.
As soon as the NT Kernel & System settles down, everything is back to normal again (as long as I haven't used other programs, which in one case required a hard reboot.)
It is pretty clear the problem is rooted in Adobe / Window 7 as I only have this problem with Adobe programs. (Illustrator isn't as bad, but I've had problems with it as well.)
The question is: How do I fix this, as it is killing my ability to work?

It looks like the document you are trying to publish is open. Sometime applications keep locks on files even after the applications are closed. You may want to try closing any word processing applications you used to open the file. If that doesn't work I would try rebooting your machine. And if neither works, submit a ticket with support: http://support.oracle.com/

Property list read error "stream had too few bytes"

I have created a plist but am having problems loading from it. The error message is "stream had too few bytes. The plist only contains a NSString at this stage. Herewith the code that I am ysing to try to extract the plist:

I have now noticed that although the list creation/update does not generate an error, no plist file is created in the specified path. I manually inserted a blank xml plist file and tried updating that, once again no error but it was not updated. It seems I am missing something in writing any kind of file to the NSBUNDLE MAINBUNDLE path?

When i am trying to send idocs from one server to another, receipient server could not accept all the idocs generated in sender system and returning a error " Too few free dialogue work " . Kindly help to resolve the issue.

This i had tried.. and set all the parameters using SRFC transaction, one thing i could not understand, the sender server is generationg just 500 idocs at a time, and receiver is not able to accept even 500 idocs, this small no of idocs.. while i many scenarios i have seen thousands of idocs are generated and they all are successfully received. while in my case, it always returns the error "Too few dialogue work processes. Changing your Apple ID to your current, working email address will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address.

Is it possible to change the Calendar 7.0 view to show 2 weeks instead of 1 week or month view. I find the month view is far too messy and the 1 week too short. To date I found the previous version more visibly user friendly

I have upgraded to Mavericks and have found the Calendar 7.0 not visually user friendly. The week view is too resrictive and the month view far too messy. Is there any way of editting the view, the ability to change the colour and thickness of the grid lines would at least help. This version of Calendar seems to be a retrograde step.

Agree. Positively loathe the new calendar display - each day blends into the next and I can't get my information at a glance. Looks like it's time to switch to BusyCal or Google Calendar.

DVD drive spinning far too fast on Equium

I have a problem with my DVD disc drive spinning far too fast to me. I have Windows XP on my Toshiba Equium laptop.
I haven't found any way to set CD / DVD spin speed.
I don't know if there is any, but I have used such feature in an other computer, and I would really much like to slow down the speed.
The problem with speed is not malfunction.
I don't face the problem with DVD:s, but the drive is too effective with CD:s, its literally too powerful.
The speed and noise are insane. If I touch the computer or the table where computer is, the shaking hurts my hands.
It's like a motor saw, and also sounds a bit loud.
I can't hear the game I play while CD is spinning.
I wonder the sturdy construction of my computer, while it's still not broken.

I don't know which notebook model do you have but Toshiba has designed small tool for such purposes. It is acoustic silencer. When you watch DVD movei or when you listen music CD you can switch into silent mode and you will not hear that DVD drive works.
Visit Toshiba support page and check if this tool is available for your notebook model too.

Hi - I am having problems with useOneAsMany while doing sales transactions.
The simplified Source Mapping is

Only Sales are written to the Line file and the POSLogs that are being sent are often multi-transactional.
I have tried to resolve this problem using graphical variables (SAP PI 7.1 Mapping Enhancements Series: Using Graphical Variable) that helped save the ItemID but incorrectly in the case of multi-transactional POSLogs.
The UseOneAsMany function seemed to be the answer (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ef/df564b6aa24fc9ab0d685460747de5/content.htm) but when I try and use it I get an exception - I get this exception no matter how I set the context for the Sale node for the 2nd parameter...

No I don't have another computer. I was thinking initially I would put them on my ipad but since I don't have enough gb maybe I can store them in some cloud thing? Captured video-material appears far too dark

I have a great problem (being under time-pressure with a project): video-material, taken with a canon HV30, that looks all right on the camera-screen, appears FAR TOO DARK (not usable), after beeing captured. the problem does not seem to be a premiere-problem (I have CS3), since windows movie maker produces the same fault. it is neither a pc-screen-calibration or -regulation-problem, since the same material played onto the same screen by another pc, that displays everthing else perfectly, is also too dark. the answer must be between the cam-corder and the capturing software? does someone have a clue? (the problem seems to be not only mine if you check via google... and the solution seems not to be at hand...)
I'm working with DV-widescreen(16:9)-PAL-material converting it with 16-bit sound and 48 kHz.

I will do that just for curiosity. but then I would have to know how the waveform-scopes should ideally look like? where can I find model-scopes? (and, what's more, the camera "gave up its spirit", as we say in german: can't be switched on any more - brand new... so I'll have to get it fixed...)
but: it seems to me, that your path-finding leads in the wrong direction... see: the camera records pictures digitally on a tape. from the tape it is able to read the data again out onto a screen - and fine! now: you should be able to reproduce that outside the camera - and not blame it somehow...
others seem to have the same problem with different cameras and different systems-cominations (operating system, graphic cards...). so it can't be just my camera. the problem is not so easy...
the guy here - http://forum.videohelp.com/topic281706.html - seems to aim in the right direction (imho): he touches the point of the colour-spaces used! he says inside the camcorder IRE 0.0 / 16-235 color space is used. right? well: outside the cam on a computer-screen RGB or sRGB is used, right? so some transformation has to happen - or may be, it is not done - with the bad result, we have...
now the chap there speaks about the possibly wrong codecs. a codec however has to do with compression/decompression. but - they say - the capturing via firewire is just the unaltered transmission of data, and .avi (the resulting format) is compression-free! so the problem is not a codec-problem. but how's the software called that changes the color-spaces or should change them???
what astonished me very much is to see that, when I change the screen-settings for color/luminance with my nvidia-graphics-card, then everything on the screen changes exept! the to video-images in the two screens (source, program) in premiere... so premiere seems to use its own screen-controle here!
and why actually can't I choose somewhere which the output-conditions for and after the capturing shall be, e.g. the clip-format (.avi, .mov etc.) and - may be! - the color-space! I can just say "DV 25i PAL max. bit-depth" and, under device(=cam)-controle, brand and type of device (and again PAL). now I can choose "canon" but not "HV30" (not contained in the list) - just "standard" instead. but that raises the question: what colour-space are the various cameras using and sending??
now if I check the supported camera-brands and -types online on the adobe-website (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/dvhdwrdb.html) I can't find canon's HV30 (just the semi-pro-models, for which "conditional support" is promised... but problems seem to lay elsewhere).
on the website, where you can check the compatibility of your cam with premiere, adobe boasts its "Preconfigured solutions
Certified Adobe OpenHD configurations (that) help ensure compatibility between hardware and software components." if you click on the linked text some general boasting and buy exhortations about the "creative suite" come up - no precise information...
should this well known and ill suffered compatibility problem not be handled more clearly and competently?
please help me finding the solution, which is: to interprete the recorded data on the tape, that get transferred via capturing, like the camera does!

" you see: two different color spaces in TV and CAPTURE SYSTEMS! is premiere not a capture system?? and what do the graphics-devices underway between the camera and premiere??

My 6500A prints photos far too dark - how do I get round this???? I can't find any OBVIOUS way of controlling this.

Same problem with the same printer here.
When I send a photo from my phone (via ePrint) the result is not as clear as I would like.
In addition to settings for brightness, I would also like to know if it's possible to change the size of the printed photo. (if you print a photo from windows you'll get a wizzard that lets you choose from different sizes)

Enclose the parameter with single quotes. Also, you don't need the semi-colon.

In our internal Lab we have:
One Admin, Media,Client Server (we can make backups for himself) - Solaris 10 with DDS4 tape drive (lab)
One Windows Client (we can make backups) - Windows XP
One Linux Client - CentOS 5.1
When we add the linux client with the command:
mkhost -a ob --inservice -r client -k 1024 linux
We receive this message in the linux (host) /usr/tmp/observiced.log
Error: can't fetch data for this host - too few bytes supplied by RPC partner (OB cached object manager)
And in the obtool we receive (forever looping)
Info: waiting for host to update certification status...
Can you help us with this linux client error ? (iptables and selinux disabled!!)
