Training : Oracle EBS HRMS or Oracle EBS System Admin

Dear freinds.
i am Network admin/.net developer for the past 10 years. I developed database online HR applications, recruitment websites and done applications support.
I need to study and change career on top of Oracle EBusiness Suite. which will be good to start : oracle HRMS Functionals or Oracle EBS r12 System Admin.

I recall that there is a way to clear the cache via a EBS System Admin screen so the FK modificaiton reflects the change right away. but I just couldn't find it anywhere now.

Monitoring oracle ebs system.

Hi,
I am trying to develop a shell script to monitor the EBS (db and apps).
basically, the script should send email if any of the component is down or system is unaccessible.
For appstier i am using adompnctl.sh status output to, if any component is down, grep and send email
For concurrent, looking for ICM
for database , run a small script to connect db and find status.
Kindly suggest if there are better wasy to do it.

How can Oracle ERP system reduce the total cost of ownership

i have read a report that describe the advantages of using Oracle ERP system in different organizations ; it is mentioned that
"+Oracle’s ERP solution suite helps customers achieve 30-80% lower total cost of ownership, benefit from a predictable cost model, and reduce risk+".
So does this means that Oracle ERP system reduce the total cost of ownership because it provides cheaper price comparing to other ERP providers, or it is meant that using Oracle ERP system will reduce the total cost of ownership for other assets in the organization by 30-70% ?

My thoughts:
1) Oracle ERP (or any ERP) typically replaces numerous applications. Each of those applications needed separate licensing fees, separate support mechanism, and separate employees in your organization to support them. By consolidating into one, it is easier to support it.
2) Normally, Oracle ERP is cheaper than SAP but it certainly not the cheapest ERP in the market. There are some smaller ERPs which are cheaper but may not offer the breadth that Oracle offers. In fact, Oracle offers a small business ERP that is quite cheaper than EBS.

I have a requirement to uniquely identify the ERP system name, hence I found FND_APP_SERVERS table. Is this the right table to use? If so, i have written my query as 'select name from fnd_App_servers where server_type='APPS' '. This query return me multiple rows(ex: node1, node2) as I have a multinode installation. I'm looking for a table which is irrespective of multi-node or anything, it should always give me the name of the EBS system. Please help me

External date format in oracle source system

Hai friends ,
My situation is data reconciliation on the cube .I have virtual provider designed with date .My oracle source system has dates in external format say 19-sep-2009 .How to approach my virtual provider in BI with these date fields ..
iam thinking of inversion routines to communicate with the source system and then reconvert again to BI format in the start routine .Suggest me if any logics with examples.

How does Oracle Hyperion system 9 Version 9.3.1 Licensing work? What controls or limits the number of users now hat there is no licence file needed?

You do. Oracle does not enforce the purchased license on any of their products programmatically -- they may request to come to your organization and perform an audit -- I believe the licensing agreement allows for this.
Basically as a business/it administrator/security function you should know the number of users you are licensed for and never exceed that and/or sync up with Oracle on a quarterly basis.

I am working on external trigger event and sending notification after bqy get updated so I have published a bqy file as a job and scheduler is working fine I am able to send mail to required user but These all are fine.
But I want to customize my mail(the notification mail)
Is there any way to customize notification mail. I am working on Oracle Hyperion System 9.3.0.1.

Integrate Microsoft FIM with Oracle HR System

I hope to find someone can help on the below scenario :
actually I'm new on FIM and I'm Planning to install it and Configure it to be used with our Oracle HR System so what I need to know is the Limitation and Supported Scenario to be used with Oracle system for example is FIM system Support the integration with
Oracle ? and if so what are the Limitation? what kind of information I have to know it from Oracle side before Start?.

Ahmed,
FIM by-default provides a Oracle Connector. You can easily create MA by using it. Also, it is somewhat similar to SQL Connector in which while creating MA you have to enter the credentials along with the Table/View name which is having the Data. The columns
present in the Table/View can be used by mapping them to attributes. I am sure if you have basic idea about provisioning in FIM from one source to another, then you will be able to achieve the same easily.

Where to download Oracle Student System, part of Oracle E-business suite 11

I am very new to Oracle E-Business suite of applications, but need to download Oracle Student System, which as I understand is part of the suite. Currently, on E-delivery, on release 12.1 is available, which doesnt contain OSS. Any ideas where to get this application? Is it available on its own as well?

Most Oracle Apps 11i software were removed from e-Delivery website, and in order to get the software, you will have to log a SR and ask Oracle support to send you the Media Pack (this requires having a valid Metalink account).

Oracle Student System : Linking units to a program.

Hi,
can any one tell me if i need to link unit to a program where should i go in Oracle Student System(OSS)?
Also is this linking done using any process, because when i see the patter of study screen in OSS then
it is populating all the units against the program, to select the core and optional unit against a program.

What type of prompt is this? Is it a dialog box or are you supposed to press a key on the keyboard? For either method you need to make the window active which you can do with the Windows API and the lvwutil library you can find here. At that point what you do depends on whether you have a dialog or you need to press a key. For a dialog you need to simulate pressing a button which you can also do with the Windows API. For the keyboard same idea. You can also do this with AutoIt, which doesn't require Windows API programming and has a relatively simple ActiveX interface.

List of Oracle Lite System Tables?

Hi all,
Please help! I've failed to find any definitive list of Oracle Lite system tables. It seems incredible, but I just can't! POL__SCHEMATA is mentioned in the SQL Reference documentation, and one forum contributor has mentioned POL__PROCEDURES, POL__PROCEDURE_COLUMNS and POL__TRIGGERS. Other than that, I've found nothing and of course they're not listed in ALL_OBJECTS.
If anyone knows the full list of POL__ tables could you please post them, and tell us where the list came from if you still know. OL_ pseudo-columns would be useful to know too.

(9i) with a o.s. user different than OracleYou can install oracle/OEM with OS user different than Oracle. Add that user to dba group or dba and oinstall group.

It seems you have got a syntax error in your sql statement, I suppose you left out the value for the maximal size.
I would try something like this in sqlplus:
alter database datafile '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/system_1/system.data1' autoextend on maxsize 10240m
Or perhaps this:
alter database datafile '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/system_1/system.data1' autoextend on maxsize unlimited
(of course substitute your path of a datafile.)
