Tranfer itunes from old iMac to new, won't open old files

I transferred all of my files successfully with a fire wire and when I tried to open my old iTunes I have an error message that says "The file "iTunes Library" cannont be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. I don't know what to do from here. Please help me transfer! Cheers.
ps. Luckily my old computer still has all of my songs. I feel bad for "mad dude." Sad Party.

If you have copied the entire iTunes folder from your old computer to the new one. try opening iTunes while holding down the option key. They you will have to option to locate your iTunes library.
