Could anyone explain what are Transaction/Event Type keys and how they affected movement type?

Transaction/event key (internal processing key)
Posting transactions are predefined for those inventory management and invoice verification transactions relevant to accounting. Posting records, which are generalized in the value string, are assigned to each relevant movement type in inventory management and each transaction in invoice verification. These contain keys for the relevant posting transaction (for example, inventory posting and consumption posting) instead of actual G/L account numbers.
You do not have to define these transaction keys, they are determined automatically from the transaction (invoice verification) or the movement type (inventory management). All you have to do is assign the relevant G/L account to each posting transaction.
For the Movemnt types the Transaction keys are maintained in the Account grouping.

Transaction/Event type question

Hi All
I have a problem with a standard SAP output doc.
I want a standard goods receipt output (Y001) for movement 202, 222 and 305 but I can currently getting a Goods issue slip (Y002)
I can see the config in OMB5 that details that an AIOSE Material doc print out will happen for mvt 202,222 and 305.
I have set up the event type WE to print a Y001(GR slip)
However, when I do a 202,222 and 305 mvt I get a Goods Issue slip (Y002)
Any ideas?

Hi,
I think the movement types that you have specified are having transaction event type as WA which is for Goods issue as in standard SAP. SO the output is coming for goods issue & not for the receipt .

Where i could customize Transaction/event type for movement type?

I need to get table behind of "transaction/event" (mkpf-vgart) type for material movement...
Ex. i have movement type 101, where i could check/get transaction/event type (mkpf-vgart) for it?
I know that it is 'WE' but where i could get link table between bwart-vgart?

Transaction/ event type WA

Hi gurús,
I am doing a customizing of a Z movement type. This movement is associated to WA transaction/event type . In FI, this movement generates a WA document type (goods issue).
It is possible to assign a new transaction/event type to the new movement? Where is the customizing path? It is possible to associate a new fi document type to the new movement type?

The recommended technique of creating a movement type is by copying an existing one. This is because a lot of programs that are associated with the existing one will get copied.
You can create the Z movement type by copying one that has a similar functionality as the one you require.

Transaction /Event type for MM

All,
Can anyone tell me , how to create(tcode) a new transaction/Event type WE?
WE (Goods Receipt ) for Accounting document is in OBF4.
But WE ( Goods Receipt for PO ) , where it will be ?

Hi Sandeep
The transaction /event types delivered by Std SAP are very exhaustive.
However you can create for various delivery costs (similar to FR1)
- Create your own key in IMG at conditions --> Define price determination process --> Define transaction event keys
- Assign rules, posting keys and GL account in OBYC
- Assign the new ket for the appropriate condition type in prcicing procedure.
This enables credit posting the this account to generate liability to the extent of material valuated by this condition.

i got one erro while going do MIGO , error is
Number range for trans./event type WE in yar 2012 does not exist .But i checked in OBA7 for the document type WE for that company code i have already maintain number ranges for the year 2011. but system showing error message is WE in year 2012 does not exist . how it showing .Actually My fiscal year is 2011 . why system asking maintain number ranges WE in year .After that i maintaion number ranges for the fiscal year 2012 . and try to post MIGO but i got the same error .Please help us in this sence

Follow the below instruction as specified in note 370236.
Maintain the number range intervals in Transaction OMBT or in Transaction SNUM. For every interval of the previous year, there should exist an interval with a year specification that is larger than or equal to the current year.Then assign the interval to a number range group.
The attached analysis report 'ZNRIVCHECK' carries out the following check:
If the year and the document type are entered, the report checks whether an interval exists for the document type and for the year.
If the year is entered or the year and the number range object are entered, the program checks whether the intervals of the previous years exist for all of the year-dependent objects in the specified year.Check whether intervals are needed for all entries of the results list and whether the interval was assigned to the number range groups.

What DataSource does your testalias refer to?
- If it is a custom DataSource, you must have created this custom DataSource also.
- If it is the default DataSource, you shouldn't have this problem in general...

Separate Transaction event key and Document type

Hello Gurus,
Need suggestion and process how to have separate transaction event key and Document types sued in Material document creation with a different number range for the movement types used for SD processes.
Example: 601/602/651 movement types have the Transaction event key as WL
               561 has the Transaction event as WA
               701/702 movement types have the Transaction event as WI
the transaction event keys of WA WH WI WL WQ WR WS WZ have the same number range.
I am looking for solution and suggestion as how do we maintain transaction event key and document type for SD dispatches, cancellation, returns movement types separately.

   U can create new document type in OBF4 copy the existing on ee.g WA make new document type and in number range assign the FI number range which u want to assign, MM number range can be create in T. code OMBT and FI number range in FBN1. Documen ttype assignment to t. code is done in OMBA

Linkage of transaction event key with new movement type

Hello All,
I have have created a new Z movement type and 1 new Transaction event key. I have to link my new Transaction event key with my new Movement type. That i can see in OBYC.
Please tell me How can i do it.

Simple way is, check the TEK of existing movement type & it's assignment in OBYC.
Now You will be able to decide how your postings can be done.
I hope you have copied the movement type & then replaced it's TEK & account modifier according to your requirement.

could someone knows how to solve this strange thing...In production machine i have two users that cant search in tcode PSV2 for event type in abbreviation separator... in dev and quality machines works, i already try to find differences between users in two systems but they are equal,,,

Log Messages from Transaction Event Logger

I have 4 instances of MII v12.1 and within a transaction I want to add a message to the log when the transaction runs so I can view it through the message logger. All 4 MII instances were installed by the same consultant a few years ago so there "should" be no differences in the log configs. On 3 of the instances this is working fine - I have created a very simple transaction with one Event Logger action configured with a message "Test Message" and when I execute the transaction I see the correct entry in the log viewer. On the fourth however, although the transaction executes without error I am not seeing anything in the viewer for this event. I am using the standard "last 24 hours" log viewer with no filters and no specific log locations selected, and no customisations. I am seeing other system generated messages. I found some documentation about logging and the viewer and I found the Netweaver log config but as far as I can see it looks consistent between the instance which is working and the one which is not working. Is there some other config which needs to be done to enable Event Logging from transactions? My user has the same access across all instances. Any guidance would be appreciated. I attach a screen shot of what I am expecting to see (taken from one of the instances which is working).

Many thanks for your reply. I have tried this and unfortunately it makes no difference. I also checked on the other instances and found they have their tracing levels all set to error, not Info. I have also noticed that on the instance which is working, in the System Configuration section at the bottom of the Log Config page - for Applications and all sub categories I see the entry .\log\applications_00.log in the Pattern column. On the instance which is not working I see that entry for the Applications root but not for any of the sub categories (even after selecting Copy to subtree). I cannot see where I can set this value (there is no modify function available, even under Administrator login).
Also, when I look at the log messages which have generated when setting the Event Type to Error on the instance which is not working, it shows one entry and the Category and Location columns show <com.sap.xmii.bls.executables.action.logging.LoggingActions>. When I generate an event with type Error on the instance which is working I get 2 log messages, one with the Category and Location <com.sap.xmii.bls.executables.action.logging.LoggingActions> and the other with Category /Applications/XMII/Xacute/Event and Location <com.sap.xmii.bls.executables.action.logging.LoggingActions>.
I guess that the .\log\applications_00.log should be showing for all subtree items under Applications and because it is not then the messages are not going into any application log. Not sure how to fix this however.
I have also reset to the default configuration and it does not change the above.

Hi Experts,
I am woking on a project which uses DI API and creates AP Invoice by reading an excel file.
I used all the invoice in one sap transaction.
I read excel line by line and create one AP Invoice per line. It works when excel is having less then 500 records. But if there are more then 500 records or more then 600 records, it give following error to me
Add-on 9000005 failed with exception; Event Type: 1

Hi,
I'm sure there is a limit to the number of rows you can add to an Invoice but I think it's probably limited on memory rather than a fixed limit on the number of rows. This might be an out of memory error that's causing the exception. Have you tried putting a try/catch around your code to see what the exact details are of the exception? Also, if you are filling in any text fields on the invoice (remarks), they are limited to 30K.
