Transaction in EJB with ADF 11

When i using to query update data in database, in database changed but on jspx not change? help me.

Hi,
I'm not sure if your question is related to SALT or even Tuxedo, but in the event that it is, what comes to mind is that transactions between Tuxedo and a Java application server are loosely coupled at best. If your question is around SALT and using SALT to connect to a Java Web Service, then in that case with SALT 10gR3 there is no distributed transaction support between Tuxedo and the Java Web Service. So if the Tuxedo application and the Java application access the same data in the same database, they will see different values as they will be part of different transactions. Even with the upcoming support for WS-AtomicTransaction, distributed transactions will still be loosely coupled, i.e., each branch will appear to the resource manager as a different transaction, thus there is likely to be visibility issues.
If you are using Tuxedo and WTC with its distributed transaction support, you will still have the loosely coupled transaction issue.
In general it's best not to have multiple branches of a distributed transaction trying to access the same data.

  • Using EJB with Hibernate on Weblogic Server ADF platform

    Hi all,
    We use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and WLS 10.3
    I tried to use Hibernate on my project according to this link well, EJB with Hibernate On Weblogic
    I wanto use Hibernate tool because toplink and eclipselink can not achieve the issue about generating update* ddl on schema, they can just only re-create the tables -not real update.
    Firstly i got the related jars from internet: http://www.2hotfile.com/di-LSBU.png
    cglib-2.2
    antlr-2.7.6
    commons-collections-3.1
    dom4j-1.6.1
    hibernate3
    hibernate-validator-4.1.0.Final
    javassist-3.9.0.GA
    jta-1.1
    slf4j-api-1.5.11
    slf4j-nop-1.5.11
    Then i added to model project as library dependencies: http://www.2hotfile.com/di-GMSZ.png
    configured persistence.xml as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    <persistence xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence"

  • Ejb along with ADF bc

    Hi, i created custom project with ADF bc and EJB 3.0 technologies.
    Then created Application modules. In a separate package in the same model project created EJB 3.0 session beans.
    Coded to access in the EJB using   Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config)  .
    Deployed application as a ear file. When i tried to invoke the ejb via a test client, server throws   javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: While trying to look up comp/env/jdbc/Connection1DS in /app/ejb/ejb1.jar Could some one gives me a guidance for proper packaging of ADF BC and EJB 3.0. Thanks.
    Edited by: user642477 on Nov 1, 2011 12:51 PM

    Yes the server has the connection. I can verify the connection in the server admin console. But Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef,config) fails with error javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: While trying to look up comp/env/jdbc/Connection1DS in /app/ejb/ejb1.jar

  • Which technology to use with ADF BC to ensure LUW

    Hi all.
    I'm working for a client and together we developing app in jDev using ADF BC and ADF Faces. App will be deployed as standalone on WLS. We need to reuse some methods from application module to outside world (another java app running on Websphere). We also need to ensure logical unit of work meaning one transaction working with two phase commit.
    After a lot of reading i came up with a solution using EJB along with ADF BC. Problem is that client wants only EJB 3.0 but jDev supports only 2.1. I spoke with Frank and he said that moving or supporting EJB 3.0 isn't gonna be soon (probably never).
    So i am looking for an alternative technology too use that supports RMII protocol like EJB does, so i can reuse code from application module.
    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Hi Frank.
    How can i then reuse code that i have written in application module. We have a couple of houndred tables that are build with ADF BC. I think it's not fancy to rewrite whole code just to use EJB 3.0 in a seperate project.
    Maybe there is a a way too create some kind of wrapper for EJB 3.0 to work along with ADF BC.

    Regards,
    Sunil

    Unfortunately there's not really enough information for anyone to help you much. I can tell you've hit an EOF Exception, but that's about it.
    What exactly do you mean by a heavyweight object parameter? Do you mean a large (in memory size) object?
    Without any knowledge of your application, I'd probably start by changing your ejb method to do nothing. That should tell you at least whether it's the serialization of the parameter that's the issue or not. Narrow it down from there.
    If you need more help, printing the entire stack trace of the EOFException and posting it here would be helpful.

  • How to start and finish a transaction using EJB 3.0 in JDeveloper

    Hello everybody!
    Does anybody can explain how to start and finish a transaction using EJB 3.0. I need to start a transaction insert some information in some tables and if everything was fine commit the information.
    I put the annotation @TransactionManagement(TransactionManagementType.BEAN) in my session bean and @Resource SessionContext ejbContext; but I don't what anything else I have to do.
    Any help will be appreciate.

    I tryied to use in the client the statement EntityTransaction transaction = myBean.getTransact(); but I receive the EJBException: Cannot use resource level transactions with a container managed EntityManager
    I just need to start a transaction something like this: transaction.begin(); and finish the transaction, something like this: transaction.commit();
    Does anybody can help?

  • Duplicate class definition error while invoking EJB from ADF project

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper TP3 and facing the following problem.
    I have built an EJB project and am ran them successfully in the embedded OC4J via a standalone java program.
    Now I created another project with ADF capabilities and when I tried to ping the EJB i get the following exception
    The application named, current-workspace-app, could not start due to an error.
    duplicate class definition: javax/faces/context/FacesContextFactory Invalid class: javax.faces.context.FacesContextFactory Loader
    This is happenning due to class conflicts between javaee.jar and trinidad-impl.jar/adf-richclient-impl.jar.
    Is there any way of bypassing this class loader issue?

    Hi,
    actually I didn' try the JNDI lookup but used resource injection instead
    In a JSF managed bean I use
    @EJB Ejb30SessionFacadeLocal myLocalInterface;
    public SortableModel getTableModel() {
    List rows = new ArrayList<Employees>();
    rows = myLocalInterface.queryEmployeesFindAll();
    this.tableModel = new SortableModel(rows);
    return tableModel;
    Its a EJB 3.0 session bean that accesses a Local interface. However, if the remote is on the same server then I would think that using @EJB Ejb30SessionFacadeRemote myRemoteInterface; does similar

  • Future support for using PL/SQL core business logic with ADF BC

    We want to migrate our large Forms client/server (6i) application to ADF, possibly using a migration tool like Ciphersoft Exodus.
    One scenario could be to use ADF BC and ADF-Faces or a different JSF-Implementation for presentation and business layer but keep our heavy PL/SQL-businesslogic inside the Oracle database in packages, triggers, functions and procedures.
    This scenario could be chosen due to the huge amount of interconnected logic inside the database (10 years of development; no technical components; any package may access any table and more of this kind of dependencies). The business logic nowadays held in Forms client will be moved mainly into the database as a prerequisite to this scenario.
    Choosing this "keep-logic-in-DB"-scenario we need a good support by ADF BC to do so. We know and prototyped that it is possible to call some PL/SQL via JDBC from ADF BC and it is possible to use stored procedure calls for standard business entity data access (ins, del, upd, ..). But this does not solve our problems. We want to reuse core business logic coded in PL/SQL. This is much more than change the ADF standard behavior for an update with an own PL/SQL-call.
    Now my question:
    Will there be a kind of sophisticated support to use ADF BC in combination with database-kept logic?
    If so, when will this happen and how will the common problems of transactional state inside the database and inside the ADF BC be solved? Any plans or ideas yet?
    Many other clients do have similar applications built in Forms and PL/SQL and would be glad to hear about a path of direction.
    I've read the technical article 'understanding the ADF BC state management feature' which you have contributed to. One current limitation is pointed out there: Using PL/SQL with ADF BC limits ADF AM pooling to 'restricted level' which reduces scalability.
    Are you aware of additional main problems/tasks to solve when using PL/SQL heavily with ADF BC, which we have to think about?
    Thank you for any response.
    Ingmar

    My main problem is two 'concurrent' areas holding state in an application system based on DB-stored PL/SQL-logic in combination with ADF BC.
    For a new System everything can be made ok:
    Sure, it is possible to build a new system with the business logic included in ADF BC only. All long-living state will be handled in the BC layer ( including support for UnitsOfWork longer than the webside short HTTP-requests and HTTP-sessions and longer than the database transactions.
    For an old system these problems arise:
    1. DB data changes not reflected in BC layer:
    Our PL/SQL-logic changes data in tables without notifying the ADF BC layer (and its cache). To keep the data in ADF BC entity objects identical to the changed database content a synchronization is needed. BC does not know which part of the application data has been changed because it has not initiated the changes through its entity objects. Therefore a full refresh is needed. In a Forms4GL environment the behavior is similar: We do frequently requeries of all relevant (base)tables after calling database stored logic to be sure to get the changed data to display and to operate on it.
    -> Reengineering of the PL/SQL-logic to make the ADF BC layer aware of the changes is a big effort (notifying BC about any change)
    2. longer living database transactions
    Our PL/SQL-logic in some areas makes use of lengthy database transactions. The technical DB-transaction is similar to the UnitOfWork. If we call this existing logic from ADF BC, database state is produced which will not be DB-committed in the same cycle.
    This reduces scalability of ADF BC AM pooling.
    Example:
    a) Call a DB-stored logic to check if some business data is consistent and prepare some data for versioning. This starts a DB-transaction but does not commit it.
    b) Control is handed back to the user interface. Successful result of step a) is displayed
    c) User now executes the versioning operation
    d) Call another DB-stored logic to execute the versioning. DB-transaction is still open
    e) Business layer commits the transaction automatically after successful finishing step d). Otherwise everything from a) to e) is rolled back.
    -> redesign of this behavior (= cutting the 1to1 relation between LogicalUnitOfWork and the technicalDatabaseTransaction is a big effort due to the big amount of code.

  • Re: TransactionRolledbackLocalException using EJBs with Glassfish

    Hi,
    I originally tried to hijack someone else's abandoned forum thread
    TransactionRolledbackLocalException using EJBs with Glassfish
    to ask my own question because it is vaguely related (there's something about "Glassfish" with both of us) but thankfully a forum moderator has split my post away.
    My question is ...
    I am running two applications on a Glassfish domain (ear and war) on Glassfish version 3.1.2.2 and finding this error occurs after running for several hours and requires a Glassfish restart. So far I have been unable to reliably reproduce this issue and a server restart only appears to be a short term fix.
    It seems that some sequence of events messes up container managed transactions within the ear. Any information or suggestions on how I could pinpoint the root cause would be greatly appreciated.

  • Forms 10g itegration with ADF

    Hi,
    Can we integrate Forms 10g with ADF? Any Blogs/Reference to it?
    Thanks,
    CN

    this is difficult to answer in a short space of time and without knowing what you are REALLY wanting to achieve.
    If, for example, you really want to exploit a feature of ADF inside Forms, e g, a Gantt chart, then you can do this. In 11g Forms we give you Javascript integration so it means that some interaction on the Forms can be passed to JS on the page. Also if you ensure that you don't "tangle" the transactions of the Form and the ADF part of teh application then you are ok.
    Some of the issues you might have are things like:
    Security - you might have different security models for an ADF application and a Forms application
    Transactions - you might want to present the application as being "seamless" but infact you could have two separate transactions.
    It also comes back to what you want to achieve, it might be that back end integration is more advisable than a tighter integration of the application technologies...for example, using web services.
    I showed an example of this kind of integration on the Forms modernization page I linked above, I don't have any more plans to produce any more material like this because its not really a path we would want to push people down (but again, thats not to say it can't work in some cases).
    Maybe I could ask you why you are asking this? What are you looking to achieve?

  • Can't find bean with adf bc sdo web service

    Hi,
    I made a sdo web service with adf bc on the customer table in the oe schema. This works fine, I deployed this on the j2ee container of jdev tp4.
    Now I use this sdo ws in a entity of an other project bc4j project. I add the jars , update the connection.xml and I configured the jndi.properties so it can lookup the sdo bean which is defined in the connection.xml.
    If I start up the new application I got jndi lookup error. It can't find the bean which is defined in the ServiceImpl of the sdo ws project. I saw this impl has annotations to make a bean
    package nl.ordina.sdo.service.server.serviceinterface;

    Why can't it find the bean
    If I manually create a ejb session bean on the sdo application module then the new app finds the bean but it gives an error because it does not support the find operation.
    thanks edwin

    Thanks Steve.
    I had my own jndi.properties file that's why it was working with ejb bean I created in the AM and not with the sdo web service.
    I didn't know I had to add the jndi properties to the connection.xml maybe you can update the documentation.

  • Transaction in ejb

    hi,
    I am trying to do transaction using ejb.My bean has two method.The transaction mode of the bean is TX_REQUIRED and is stateful.I am using the jts driver and this is the code i have written.
    public void addemp()throws RemoteException
    try
    usertran.begin();
    Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:jts8:@DADTest");
    Statement stmt=con.createStatement();
    stmt.executeUpdate("insert into emp1 values(" + "'abdul',23)");
    adddept();
    usertran.commit();
    con.close();
    catch(SQLException e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    public void adddept()throws RemoteException
    try
    Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:jts8:@DADTest");
    Statement stmt=con.createStatement();
    stmt.executeUpdate("insert into dept2 values(" + "23,'sales','mumbai')");
    con.close();
    catch(SQLException e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    when i run this bean it gives me the following error:
    Creating a new EJB instance
    oracle.oas.container.runtime.CreateException: oracle.oas.container.runtime.CreateException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Mode TX_BEAN_MANAGED required Mode = TX_SUPPORTS
    javax.ejb.CreateException: oracle.oas.container.runtime.CreateException: oracle.oas.container.runtime.CreateException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Mode TX_BEAN_MANAGED required Mode = TX_SUPPORTS
    if any one of you can help me on this issue it wil be very grateful.
    thanks in advance.

    It seems like I need to inform my colleages
    that this 200,000-update process is a business logic
    problem.This might help a great bit.
    >
    But what if this is a real life needed process ? We
    already have a good team of architects and
    developers.This statement is questionable. There is a fundamental problem with "one transaction that has more than 200,000 update processes".
    Aside, which also indicates the skill level of this "good team of architects and developers", if it really exists.
    Your group should rethink what is considered a transaction and really analyze the reasons why so many updates need to occur as one batch.
    It would be fantastical if this system could maintain 200,000 live Entity EJB at any one point in time. Either way, you need to rethink, from business terms, what a transaction should be.
    This sounds like a data bulk upload process. There may be no business analysts involved to guide you. You should refer to the "good team" for their advice in addition to this forum. They should be able to provide you with good direction.

  • Second application using EJB with CMP cannot see SQL Server Tables.

    We are running Sun One Application Server 7 V2004Q2 . We are also running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 3 Version 2.2.0040 and SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition Version 8.00.818(SP3).
    (The 2 applications described below run perfectly fine when run one at a time. The second one fails only when it is started after the first one and it does not matter which one is strarted first..)
    Using the above, we run 2 applications that open SQL Server Connection Pools via EJB with CMP. The first application opens the connection pool correctly and successfullly obtains a connection from that connection pool and get table information from SQL Server.
    The second application opens a second connection pool to a second database in the same SQL Server. However, when the second application requests data over a connection from the second connection pool, we get an error message that it cannot find the requested table.
    In addition, the second application cannot ever see the SQL data until we restart the instance of the Sun One Application Server AND start that application by itself.

    Yes, they are.

  • Issue with SharePoint foundation 2010 to use Claims Based Auth with Certificate authentication method with ADFS 2.0

    I would love some help with this issue.  I have configured my SharePoint foundation 2010 site to use Claims Based Auth with Certificate authentication method with ADFS 2.0  I have a test account set up with lab.acme.com to use the ACS.
    When I log into my site using Windows Auth, everything is great.  However when I log in and select my ACS token issuer, I get sent, to the logon page of the ADFS, after selected the ADFS method. My browser prompt me which Certificate identity I want
    to use to log in   and after 3-5 second
     and return me the logon page with error message “Authentication failed”
    I base my setup on the technet article
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2010/07/30/configuring-sharepoint-2010-and-adfs-v2-end-to-end.aspx
    I validated than all my certificate are valid and able to retrieve the crl
    I got in eventlog id 300
    The Federation Service failed to issue a token as a result of an error during processing of the WS-Trust request.

    This is perfectly correct on my case I was not adding the root properly you must add the CA and the ADFS as well, which is twice you can see below my results.

  • Help required with ADFS 3.0 client certificate authentication

    Hi,
    I am currently working on integrating ADFS 3.o for Single Sign On to some 3rd party services along with PKI solution. The basic requirement is that I should be able to choose client authentication certificate as an authentication method in ADFS and then
    federate user credentials to 3rd party trust for single-sign-on.
    I had done this successfully with ADFS 2.0 and that setup is working fine. I have the setup as ADFS 3.0 client authentication method enabled. When I open browser to logon, the ADFS 3.0 page displays a message as "Select a certificate that you want to
    use for authentication. If you cancel the operation, please close your browser and try again." but the certificates are not displayed for selection.
    The certificates are valid and have valid chaining to CA. Could someone help me resolve this issue?
    Thanks!
    -Chinmaya Karve

    Hi Yan,
    Thanks for your response. I have gone through the posts that you have suggested, and my setup looks pretty much as expected.
    So, as I mentioned earlier, I have 2 parallel setups with 3rd party service(SalesForce). Once of them is running ADFS 2.0 and another one has ADFS 3.0. I can logon to the third-party services, from both the setups using username/format. I can logon to SF
    using client authentication certificate from ADFS 2.0 setup, but from the same client machine, when I try to logon SF via ADFS 3.0, the browser just does not pick up any certificate. The page just shows message of "Select a certificate that you want to use
    for authentication. If you cancel the operation, please close your browser and try again.".
    I have checked the browser, and it has the right certificates. Also, the same browser/machine is used to logon to SF through ADFS 2.0 via client certificate, which works just fine !
    I am really confused now, as to whose issue this really is...
    Just to confirm, I am using Certificate Authentication from ADFS 3.0 Authentication Methods for both Intranet and Extranet.
    Any suggestion or inputs where I could have gone wrong in the setup?
    Thanks!
