Transaction 'PFCG'

Hi,
I have some requirement with the transaction PFCG. We need some standard function module for ADD or DELETE transaction to a Role. I tried with Batch Input but i believe its not happening as required.
Please suggest some other option if you have.
Somebody now someone FM standar?

Role Maintenance Transaction PFCG

Hi.
I have a question (as many others in here) regarding transaction PFCG functionallity from an ABAP program.
I would like to generate derived roles from the master role, and I have made a recording of PFCG and used it as Call Transaction, without any luck, as it is an Enjoy transaction.
I have searched for BAPI's, function modules, even tried to build my own program (based on ) and I am stucked - no further ideas.
Can you supply me with a BAPI, Function module etc. which does the same as PFCG Generate derived roles?

Hi again - I found the solution myself - and wants to share it with you.
    SUBMIT suprn_regenerate_dependent
      WITH top_agr = gw_agr_time-agr_name
      WITH gen      = 'X'
      AND   RETURN.
Standard program "suprn_regenerate_dependent" is perfect for this issue!

Hi Renjy,
For any transaction code check for the objects in SU24 then check the same in the role and change the activity as per your requirement.
Check for object and activity in the role
for example
Object S_USER_AGR, ACTVT 03 (Display)

Where is the URL defined for web enabled transactions / PFCG execute?

One of our developers is having an issue. Apparently, when executing a web enabled transaction from within PFCG (in the menu structure right-click and choose u2018executeu2019) the Internet Explorer on the client is started with a url to: http://www-s1pprint.ourcompany.com/sap/bc/webdynpro/.... which is incorrect (note our system SID is S3D but it was copied from S1P, however, what is the 'print' part??)
When testing the exact same service from SICF it is working well and goes to the correct URL http://www.esd3002a.ourcompany.com/ etc, so the reference must come from another source. We'e checked parameters in SM59, RZ10 and SMICM so far and can't find anything relevant.
Where is this set?

What's the content of the parameter
icm/host_name_full
(check using RZ11).
Does this return the proper full qualified hostname? If yes, check the hosts file and/or DNS of the server whether the IP resolves to the proper name and vice versa.

Alternative transaction to PFCG

Hi everyone,
I use PFCG to sequence the reports in a role. However since the deployment of the HR module all sensitive transaction have been withdrawn from the support team and this is one of them.
Does anyone know an alternative transaction I can use to but reports in sequence in a role?

Thanks for your note. However isn't this just another way to run transaction PFCG. My problem is that I no longer have access to PFCG either directly or via the Users Account.
I am looking for another way of being able to change the sequence that reports appear in a role. I used to use PFCG but can no longer use that option.

For this functionality, use a report in SE38 (or SA38) transaction: S_BCE_68001429

RE:Transaction usage report not updating.

Hi All,
I am on 5.2 SP9 and I am facing an issue wherein the transaction usage report is not getting updated by the lateast report. To illustrate, I created a role with transaction PFCG and assigned it to a user. Now, when the user executes the PFCG, the report should be updated and it should show that this user also executed PFCG today, which isn't the case.
Would like to know if anyone has a clue how to resolve the same. As in, did i miss out on anything which needs to configured/done before running this report.

Assigning a BEx role to BSP - BSP application is missing in PFCG

Hi everybody,
at first I will describe our problem.
We constructed a mixed environment web application, consisting out of a BSP application and WAD web templates. Unfortunately the url of web templates and the bsp-application differs - meaning the server is the same, but the port is different. That's why it is not easy to link the application each other, because for transportation reasons, we would like to have relative url paths.
After searching the SDN and reading several help files I draw the conclusion, that I have to put my BSP application into a BEx role. Correct? If anybody has a better approach, please raise your hand now!
So, I tried to create a role for my BSP application in the transaction PFCG. To specify the target I choosed entry type OTHER and BSP application. But in the appearing list of all BSP applications, my application was missing.
I really wondered about it, because similar BSPs from other authors within the sap/bc/bsp - folder appeared in the list.
Question: What are the prerequisites that a BSP application is available in the PFCG transaction?

you are looking at constructing the BW WAD url and call it from BSP, however the host address (port) differs and coz of that you cannot use relative urls.
Almost. I'm actually searching for the other way round. I want to call the BSP in an inlineframe of a WAD web template. But its exactly that port change issue, that causes the problem.
My BSP application is located in a subfolder of default_host/sap/bc/bsp/ ?
There are other BSPs in that folder which already appear in the PFCG transaction under OTHER.

You can create transaction code from se80 as well.In object navigator,right click on your program name and create->transaction code.You can create transaction and select if it is only a report,a report with selection-screen depending on your requirement.You can run your report directly by entering the transaction code in the command field.
You can authorise the users who can use your transaction:
Authorisation objects are used to restrict certain transactions to users.Critical data must be protected from unauthorised users.For example,the head has access to certain data.But it cannot be accessed by his subordinate.For this we need to define roles.
Create an authorization object with transaction SU21.
An object usually consists of the ACTVT (activity) field and one other field,which specifies the data type to be protected.By ACTVT, we can decide if the data is accessible for change,display only etc.
Add authorization fields to the authorization object created.
Assign the authorization object to the transaction using SE93.
Attach the authorization object to the role using transaction PFCG.
If you want to assign roles,use transaction PFCG.Create a new role.In the AUTHORIZATIONS tab,you can get a self generated profile name and a profile text by clicking on the icon next to it.Then go to the "Change Authorization data" and choose an authorization template.Then you can choose to display/change/create an activity and after the selection,click on the red and white circle.The profile will now be created.
In the user tab,you can give the user details who can use this role.

Using BDC for PFCG

Hi,
Currently I have a requirement to synchronize composite role menus in PFCG. I tried using SM35 record and then create program. However, when program is created field "BDC_SUBSCR" "SAPLPRGN_TREE xx" is missing and so it is not working. Is there a way to fix this? or possibly a BAPI to help in doing this task?

Transaction PFCG is an enjoy SAP transaction and is quite hard to do BDC program within.

Role to access PFCG in "read-only mode"

Hi,
I've created a role to access transaction PFCG in "read-only mode", because some functional consultants asked for it.
However, it still gives them access to perform the "User Comparison" and I would like to remove that as well.
The role has the following authorization objects and values:
S_TCODE-TCD = PFCG
S_USER_AGR-ACTVT = 03
S_USER_AGR-ACT_GROUP = Y-, Z- (these are the allowed role names)
I really don't know what to do... any ideas?

Yes, I also noticed that. The restriction of a user compare in PFCG in the F4 help in PRGN_CUST, is the same SAP note as that for activity 22 (assigning the user to the role)...
You could have posted this on Sunday evening, that way Monday morning is closer to test it

Assigning authorization objects to transaction

Hi All,
While creating a new role using transaction PFCG, If i enter transaction SE38, i will get lot of authorization objects, fields where i can decide whether i should allow only display or change or create etc. But if i create my own transaction, then i will not get these authorization objects. Where should i assign there objects for my transactions.
I tried to assign this in transaction se93, but that did not work.

and check the check box change mode and try running there you can change the authorizations..
