A transaction is unit of work containing activities that need to be completed together. For instance, for an online travel site, you might have a session bean method bookTravel that takes a credit card, ensures its valid, charges the price of the ticket on the credit card, and books the ticket. This method invoke methods on other EBJs to help accomplish these steps. For instance, methods of Customer, CreditCard and AirlineTicket beans will be invoked during the execution of this method. If all these steps complete successfully, the transaction succeeds. If any of these steps fails, the entire transaction fails and any changes made by previous steps are rolled back
In this Scenario , what are the components which are required to make it work as described.
Lets say:
1) What should be the Transaction attribute setting
2) What should be the iSolation level setting
3) How many Connection object should be created across the Transaction
4) what should be the AutoCommit Property of the Connection.

1. Container manager transaction is best approach for this scenario.
2. The default settings of the container should work for you. I think for most of them it is Read Committed. Also I think you have no control over it.
3. Container can manage the number of connections as required.
4. Since it is container managed, autocommit is false and we should not play with it.

Is this transaction scenario possible?

Can anyone tell me if the following scenario is possible, and if so, how
          it can be achieved? (I'm using WLS6.0 sp 1):
          1) From a Stateless Session EJB, start a UserTransaction.
          2) The SB then invokes methods on one or more Java helper objects (not
          EJBs), each of which modifies one or more Entity EJBs.
          3) If any one of the helper objects throws an exception, rollback the
          transaction; otherwise, call UserTransaction.commit().
          If an exception occurs, I would like the modifications made to all
          Entity EJBs (modifications made via the different helper objects) to be
          rolled back. I'm not sure how to achieve this, since the methods called
          by the SB within the transaction are not methods on a resource manager,
          such as a JBDC connection. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Is the transaction being called standard or custom? If it is custom,you can trigger an event on clicking 'save' and you can link this event to a workflow (transaction SWETYPV) and the work flow will start. The Approver and the WF steps seem to be possible in case if this is a custom transaction since you can create the master data in the workflow itself.
In case its a standard SAP transaction, then i think we may have a problem with delaying the commit till the workflow executes. You can still trigger the event in an exit and link it to the workflow, but you will need to find a way of delaying the master data creation till the approver approves it. If this is not going to be possible, i suggest you create a custom transaction, and follow the steps mentioned in the first paragraph and then call a BAPI / BDC in the workflow to create master data.
But your scenario looks very much possible and feasible to me.

Can anyone tell me where I have to do the customization for cross company transactions,
In the scenarios
1. for materials shipped to the customer of company code BBBB, by company code AAAA on behalf of company code BBBB or vice versa
2. For materials shipped to plant of company code BBBB from the plant of company code AAAA or vice versa.
I would appreciate it, if you can help with customization and configuration steps involved in cross company transactions.

Hi Kumar,
With OBYA settings, you will be able to affect cross company code transactions through FI.
Ex. Maintenance Exp of co. code AAAA are paid by co. code BBBB. Now the affect will be as follows:
Books of AAAA:
Maintenance Exp A/c Dr and Cross Company code Clearing (say 'BBBB') A/c Cr
Books of BBBB:
Cross Company code Clearing (say 'AAAA') A/c Dr and Bank A/c Cr
The above affect will take place in books of both the company codes, when u post the document in any one set of books by mentioning the other company code as 'new company code'.

Query Scenario Help - Average of Multiple Regions

Hi, I have a query scenario I can't create and I hope someone can help with.
The user inputs a sales Area and the report is to output the regions in that area and provide the Volume (easy) and the Average of all the presented regions. The problem is that the number of regions is dynamic so I don't know how to go about determining the average and making it constant across the regions. The user can also drill down on a region to present divisions and I would then need the average for the divisions this time instead of regions. Can you help?

To get this layout I have the following in the query builder:
The 2 Products are in a structue under Rows
The Key figures structure is also under Rows
The Region is under the columns

If you redesign the report slightly to move the "Average" to a column at the end of each row (which really makes more sense, IMHO), then the answer is easy. Just change the Suppress Results Row property to "Never" for Region, and change the Display Results As property to "Average" for Volume.
You could also make this same change to Division and/or any other free characteristic they might use as a drill-across in the report.

Hello,
You mean transaction type? Then for Service Desk it is SLFN. It is not recommended to open Issues (SLFI) directly from the CRMD_ORDER transaction. You can also open change requests (SDCRs) from CRMD_ORDER, and later assign them to the maintenance cycle.
