Transaction SM04

hai all,
i want to know the data displayed in transaction SM04 is taken from which tables?Like the list of table(s) from which data about no. of users logged in on a server, the transaction codes being used on each terminal etc.

>> want to know the table in which details about server, terminal and TCODE (being used currently) are stored together
I don't think that info is stored in a dB table.. it is only available at runtime.. ( being used currently...)

• RFC as type of connection in transaction sm04 of Database server

Hello I wander what means RFC as type of connection in transaction sm04 of Database server.
Does it mean an user logged on applicaton server is displayed on database server as RFC?

Hi Jan
User login to SAP may be possible with either GUI or RFC. GUI implies to direct logon to SAP though the SAP GUI. This is characterised by the user name.
The other way is RFC which implies to remote access to the system. This is usually characterised by IP address or the domain address .
I hope this helps

• Webclient UI - every user twice in transaction SM04

Hi,
for the users working with CRM Webclient UI we see two entries in tx SM04 from type Plugin HTTP.
Why are there two entries for each user but the user has only one session open?
Thank you
Kind regards
Manfred

Hi Arun,
the strange thing is that this "double entry" in SM04 is the case for every user and we are more than 100 users logged in to our productive CRM system. I can´t imagine that every user is using the transaction launcher or something else at the same time.
How is this in your productive system. Every user only one entry in SM04?
It is not realy an issue but i´m just interessted why this is the case?
thank you
Kind regards
Manfred

• Type of logon in SM04

Hello everybody,
when i execute the transaction SM04, then one user show the logon type RFC.
then what is mean by the logon type if RFC, I know that the RFC means Remote Function call.
But what is mean by logon type RFC
Thanks
Ganesh

Simply means that the user was logged one via an RFC connection instead a SAPGui connection.
For example if you have Solution Manager you'll see frequent connection from the SOLMAN user via RFC.

• Data Table for SM04

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to make a trace to the transaction SM04, but I haven't been able to figure out from where does this transaction brings the information. In particular I need the value for the field "TYPE" of the ALV table displayed in the transaction.
Can you please give me a hint from what tables is this transaction retrieving its data? Thank you for your help!
Felipe

It uses the system function ThUsrInfo to get out the informations.
It's better you see how the standard program uses it.
Progr. RSM04000_ALV: check the form build_list, start from piece of code:
if long_usr_list = th_true.
call 'ThUsrInfo' id 'OPCODE' field opcode_long_list
id 'TAB' field usr_tabl-sys.
else.
call 'ThUsrInfo' id 'OPCODE' field opcode_list
id 'TAB' field usr_tabl-sys.
endif.

• Portal Name in SM04

For some reason in R3 transaction SM04 the IP address of the portal server instead of the portal server name appears.
The other connected machines to R3 show the name, but the other sessions connected via the portal show the portal's IP, but i'd like to show the portal server name instead.
Any ideas??

Hi Vila,
As per my knowledge, the following line of code
IWDClientUser user=WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
gets the user from respective servers's portal UME's configured database( If it is same for both servers XYZ04 and XYZ10, then user XYZ04 will be available in both servres).
If UME database for two servers is different and user id XYZ04 exists in only one server then you will definately get "User Authentication failed" message.
Please check.

At tr. sm21, for today only appears a error: Run-time error "GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED" occurred at 9:21. And If I reproduce the error, It doesn't generate other run-time error like this. So, I don't think that run-time error ocurred at 9:21 was related with my problem.

• SAP paging overflow when storing data in the ABAP/4 memory.

I am trying to create a data source in BI7.0 in the Datawarehousing Workbench. But along the process when i need to select a view i get an error detailed in the following error file extract: Please go through and assist.
untime Errors MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING
Date and Time 06.06.2009 14:21:35
Short text
SAP paging overflow when storing data in the ABAP/4 memory.
What happened?
The current program requested storage space from the SAP paging area,
but this request could not be fulfilled.
of this area in the SAP system profile.
What can you do?
Note which actions and input led to the error.
For further help in handling the problem, contact your SAP administrator
You can use the ABAP dump analysis transaction ST22 to view and manage
termination messages, in particular for long term reference.
Error analysis
The ABAP/4 runtime system and the ABAP/4 compiler use a common
interface to store different types of data in different parts of
the SAP paging area. This data includes the
ABAP/4 memory (EXPORT TO MEMORY), the SUBMIT REPORT parameters,
CALL DIALOG and CALL TRANSACTION USING, as well as internally defined
macros (specified with DEFINE).
To store further data in the SAP paging area, you attempted to
allocate a new SAP paging block, but no more blocks were
available.
When the SAP paging overflow occurred, the ABAP/4 memory contained
entries for 20 of different IDs.
Please note:
To facilitate error handling, the ABAP/4 memory was
deleted.
How to correct the error
The amount of storage space (in bytes) filled at termination time was:
Roll area...................... 8176
Extended memory (EM)........... 13587912
Assigned memory (HEAP)......... 0
Short area..................... " "
Paging area.................... 40960
Maximum address space.......... " "
By calling Transaction SM04 and choosing 'Goto' -> 'Block list',
you can display an overview of the current roll and paging memory
levels resulting from active users and their transactions. Try to
decide from this whether another program requires a lot of memory
space (perhaps too much).
The system log contains more detailed information about the
termination. Check for any unwanted recursion.
Determine whether the error also occurs with small volumes of
data. Check the profile (parameter "rdisp/PG_MAXFS", see
Installation Guidelines).
Is the disk or the file system that contains the paging file
full to the extent that it cannot be increased, although it has
not yet reached the size defined in the profile? Is the
operating system configured to accommodate files of such a
size?
The ABAP processor stores different types of data in the SAP
paging area. These include:
(1) Data clusters (EXPORT ... TO MEMORY ...)
(2) Parameters for calling programs (SUBMIT REPORT ...),
Dialog modules (CALL DIALOG ...) and transactions
(CALL TRANSACTION USING ...)
(3) Internally defined program macros (DEFINE ...)
Accordingly, you should check the relevant statements in a program
that results in an overflow of the SAP paging area.
It is critical when many internal tables, possibly with
different IDs, are written to memory (EXPORT).
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING" " "
"SAPLWDTM" or "LWDTMU20"
"TABC_ACTIVATE_AND_UPDATE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.

Hi Huggins,
Maintenance of the Paging File is owned by your basis team.
They should increase this in order for your transaction to process successfully.
Just for your reference, in case the OS used is windows server 2003, paging file value can be checked through;
Right click in the My Computer>properties.
Then go to Advance tab;
Then there should be a performance section, click the settings
Then Advance tab again. The paging file can be seen from there.
(and can be adjusted from there also)
The value of the paging file in general will be dependent with the available RAM from the hardware.
Hope this helps. Thanks a lot.

• How to log off from SNC portal

This is a very basic question. I did not find any button or menu option to log off. Sometimes I get the message that the transaction is still running in another session, and I find it very difficult to log off. I normally close the browser and then log off from the SCM system. But if I am not logged onto SAP and I open the portal directly, How do I log off?
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks
Soumen

Hi Soumen,
There is no logoff button in SNC Web portal.
You can close the SNC web protal to logoff.
About your issue when you logoff it will locks your query as it is not logoff straight a way solution is create another query so that you can use another query or go to transaction SM04 and logoff your user-

• How can I get all Login/Logout details

How can I get all Login/Logout details of all SAP Users from SAP Server/Database of any one year? I am asking about SAP License User. Is their any Table or Report by which I can get these details? For example USR02(Logon Data) Table store the last login/logout details of SAP Users. So in same way is any table which store Users Login/Logout details through out a year or month.

Hi Sudheer,
Check this .
You can find the transactions by a particular user from the transaction SM04.
SM04 gives you the details of the users logged in,terminals, transactions the user is working on, the time he has logged in,no of sessions user has opened, and the memory used by the user's programs... all of that w.r.t to the client we login. but we can't get info like date and number of times the user has logged in.
U can see tables:
USR01 User master record (runtime data)
USR02 Logon data
USR03 User address data
USR05 User Master Parameter ID
USR12 User master authorization values
plz rewards points if helpful

• MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING error

Hi,
We are using ECC 5.0 here. Our DB is Oracle 9.2.0.6 and OS is AIX.
We have a problem here.
Our Finance people run a report "S_ALR_87013542". It was working fine.
But now it is giving an error with ABAP Dump. The error is MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING.
I have increased the parameter "rdisp/PG_SHM" to the double value. Now the value is 16384. But it is still giving the same error.
I increased it on a Dialog Instance (application server through which Finance people access SAP)
I searched the notes, but could not find anything relevant about my error.
I have tried to run the report in the night when there is no load on the server. But even then it gives the same error.
My different Memory Paramters for the App server for finance people are listed below:-

Hello,
Here the parameters for concern are
1.rdisp/PG_SHM
2.rdisp/PG_MAXFS
1.rdisp/PG_SHM :
The value specifies the size of the paging buffer in 8KB blocks.
A paging buffer is no longer required for SAP Memory Managment,
because internal tables and lists are not stored in SAP paging.
Default : 0
2.rdisp/PG_MAXFS :
This value specifies the size of the SAP paging file in 8KB
blocks. The paging file is used to store extracts and for
Export to Memory.
Aim:
The paging file must be sufficiently large. It is not a problem
if it is set to too large a size.
Dependencies:
Sufficient disk space
You can try
1.Optimize the code, to use less memory.
OR
2.Increasing the parameter rdisp/PG_MAXFS as per the availability of disk space.
Hope this solves your problem.

• Call a ABAP Web-Dynpro-application via a BSP-Application

We have a BSP-Framework, that call several applications among other things other BSP-Applications, ITS-Application and other systems. Now I want to integrate a ABAP Web Dynpro-Application.
For the moment I can call the ABAP Web Dynpro-Application from our application.
This application runs in the same session as the Framework (verify in transaction sm04).
When I want to call another application in the Framework, the session will be killed (no more sessions in sm04). This happens also, when I want to call the ABAP Web Dynpro-Application a second time.
I guess, that the ABAP-Framework thinks I want to go outside the system (for example www.google.de) and close the session. I found out, that this wouldn't happen, if the application were suspended. But I found no way to tell the application via a url-parameter to suspend.
Can someone help me?

Thx for the tip,
but I can't firea suspend plug. Because I'm in BSP. I understand the docu so, that you have the option to call a other apllication like BSP from a ABAP Web Dynpro.
I want to call the ABAP Web Dynpro form BSP like this way.
1. Start BSP-Framework
2. Call ABAP Web-Dynpro-Application from BSP
3. Call another Application from BSP without automatically logout by unload ABAP Web Dynpro. (I have a chance to call the ABAP Web Dynpro again via url to suspend before I call the other app.)
