Is there a transaction or a table which would list down all of the data targets & its corresponding table names within the BI system?

In addition to Prashanth’s suggestion, you can also use the following Transact-SQL statements to get more detailed information including all objects and indexes per Filegroup / Partition and allocated data size of databases.

Table name for plan data

Hi All,
could you please give me table name for plan data. this is tcode where we can see for range of cost centers S_ALR_87013612 (range of cost centres) and cost elements as well. but our client wants to extract from the table which has the same values in the report S_ALR_87013612.
from which table they need to extract.

How to find table name which provide data for the DataSource

How to find the Table name which providing data for the Business content DataSources (Master Data). Is there any table or Transation which give datasource and Table name at once.

Hi Revathi...........
1)If the datasource is extracting data from any table.................open the datasource using RSO2..........there u will get the table name......
2) If the datasource is extracting data from any view.............go to RSA2..........copy the view name..........go to SE11 >> give the view name >> and check..........
3) If Datasource is Function module based............then u hav to check in RSA2 >> give the datasource name >> execute >> there u will find the Extract structure name......Copy the Extract Structure name >> Go to SE11 >> in the Data Element field give the Extract structure name >> Display >> From the Entry Help/Check tab u can get the Table name............
If u double click on the Extractor..............u will get the Function Module..............from there also u can check that the FM extracting data from which tables............
For Other datasources also...........u can get the structure name from here........
4) If the Datasources r LO datasources............then u can get the table name in LBWE.............LO extractor - goto transaction LBWE.................... Select the maintenance link for your datasource............
here in the right hand pane.........in the drop down box, you can see the structures associated with this extractor ........ just remove the MC for the structure names to get the base table names. e.g. EKKO for MCEKKO.
5) There is a pattern for the Extract structure name for LO datasources.............for an example..........
DataSource 2LIS_11_VAITM ......Extract structure name is MC11VA0ITM
2LIS_11_VAHDR >> MC11VA0HDR

Yes TNAPR is the table which contains sapscipts name and print program names.
Step:1: Goto to the Table TNAPR using SE11
Step:2: Get the Contents of the Table(CNTRLSHIFTF10)
Step:3: On the Table Content Selection Screen, Type the driver program name in the field PGNAM and execute(F8).
Step:4: FONAM field of the result display contains the SAPScript Name for our driver program.

IMG --> Enterprise structure --> Definition --> Human Resources Mgmt --> Personnel Subareas --> Copy, delete, check personnel subarea
Button "Structure", then "Navigation", check next screen.
You'll get all Personnel Subareas
Then, menu "Edit - Display all objects" and choose "Company Code"
Choose your company code... you'll get a screen with Company Codes with Personnel Area and Personnel Subarea

I want to know about DatabaseMetaData & how to acess all table names & other metadata using JDBC-ODBC as well as direct drivers
can i get code for converting one type of database file to other.
Idesperately need this code.

While most RDBMS implementations are stored as flat files, you cannot normally directly 'convert one type of database file to other'. DatabaseMetaData will give you a list of tables, views, schema, columns, etc. You can then create your own dynamic SQL statement, SELECT the data from the legacy RDBMS and INSERT into the new RDBMS. Otherwise, I'm not sure how you would accomplish a conversion without knowing the internals of the database or special software.

"In process" version of All data targets after NW2004s upgrade

After upgrade to NW2004s, all of data targets are showing in "In Process" version.
Datas are getting loaded successfully and reports are working fine.
Why this is that??

'In Process' = New.
To Make the 'In Process' to 'Active'
-->Double click on 'In Process (Func.)' and select 'Active'.
-->Then you will see only Active Version.But it is not harm if you keep Version as 'In Process' .You can see Revised version as 'Active' right.
The main difference between 'In Procee' and 'Active' is, both are same. But 'In process' means New Active version.

               AFTER GETTING INTO THE CJ40 TRANSACTION, I HAVE CLICKED "PRIMARU COST". THIS SCREEN IN HAVING TABLE CONTROL , IN THIS TABLE CONTROL THERE WILL BE FIELD CALLED "TOTAL PLAN COST".
               IF I ENTER THE AMOUNT IN THE "TOTAL PLAN COST" FIELD, WHERE THE AMOUNT WILL BE STORED? I MEAN WHICH TABLE WILL HAVE THAT VALUE?
        I HAVE TRIED MANY THINGS . CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE NAME OF THE TABLE.

Actaully i am new to fico/bw,and i have to create a report based on the actual and budget value and difference in the variance.
in R/3 side the table they are using is COSP,so please let me know what is the data source name and the cube or ods name in BW side.wht are the fields in which i can get the BUDGET value in the report.
here we are using all the business content extractors and BI content cubes and odss.

Follow following sequence:
CHRMAS Characteristics that contain global and local object dependencies
KNOMAS (global object dependencies)
CHRMAS Characteristics that contain global and local object dependencies
CLSMAS Classes with characteristics and their overwritings, including object dependencies
The characteristics and characteristic values must be transferred second time
to create the assignment of the global object dependencies to the characteristics
and characteristic values.
