Transcribing WMA tapes and Flip for Mac message?

After a recent upgrade to 10.9 I have had a repetitive message overlaid when I transcribe WMA tapes from a DSS player: 'this is a demonstration of Flip for Mac.' It seems to come and go though, this morning it repeated throughout a whole transcription, then when I replayed the tape the message had disappeared, but played over a tape I transcribed yesterday which was message free.
As I recall as part of the installation of the system upgrade I was asked to remove Flip for Mac and the install it again, but that is a bit hazy.
I have spoken with Olympus and upgraded their software for my recordning machine.
Do I need to use Flip for Mac at all and is that a change introduced by Apple in the last system update? It is making the daily job I do of transcribing more than a little frsutrating.

Are these tracks copy-protected (they almost certainly will be if they were purchased from a download store)? If so, then there's no way to play them in Mac OS X.

The D610 didn't get out-of-the-box RAW support until Photoshop CC.
You can either upgrade to CC or use the DNG Converter to convert and open your DNGs in CS5.

When setting up outlook, we are trying to connect to a mailbox on exchange server 2007. We put in the EWS details in the server field since our autodiscover function is not functioning. But still it doesn't work. There are no errors, no popups. We turned on the logging and in the logs, it says a error of -3259. We are stuck and any help will be really appreciated.

I have a customer experiencing exactly the same issue. Their computer is running Windows 7 Pro with Office 2007 SP3. After seemingly exhausting all troubleshooting options, I backed up their data, formatted the hard drive and performed a clean install of
Windows and all their applications. It didn't solve the problem!
What's strange is the customer also has a laptop computer, running the same version of Outlook, and that doesn't experience any problems connecting to Office 365 on the same network.
My next step is to send the customer a new ADSL modem/router to try.
I have another customer on Office 365, also running Outlook 2007, and they also experience issues with emails sitting in the outbox while Outlook displays the status message “Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft exchange server outlook.office365.com.”
In this case Outlook doesn't freeze/stop responding, like it does for the first customer I mentioned.

Try to update QuickTime plugin, if it is not updated, uninstall and install it again.

No Audio with Flip for Mac, MIDI Settings Seem OK

Hello,
I am using Flip for Mac to stream Windows content. On most sites (You Tube etc.) it seems OK. On some however, the video plays fine, but there is no audio.
Since the video streams fine, I assume it is not a DRM issue. The MIDI Audio Input is set at 44100Hz. The MIDI Audio Output window says 'Output is not supported.' I only use the internal speakers and don't have any external ones connected to perhaps the MIDI Output is irrelevant.
But, is this more of a QuickTime7.2 compatability issue? I am only running a lower version of Flip for Mac, none of the 'Pro' upgrades so did not think it would be an issue. Are there any other common settings one should double check?

Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:

In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

Flip for mac

I have the latest version of flip for mac installed. For the last few months when someone sends a video with email when i click on play button at end of email on the video box I only get audio for the first 30-40 seconds & then the video kicks in. how can i correct this

It's ok to do this even though you are already running 10.6.2 The update includes Safari plug-in reliability.
If that doesn't help try ...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

If you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure *Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*

Basically i have just got my first Apple MacBook and i have the Pro version, so when i bought it i found out that it doesn't already have an office or word type of product in it, so i decided to buy microsoft office home and student for mac, which i was told would be fine on my macbook.

I was looking for help with this same problem on my Wifes MBP but with Excel, while I was looking for solutions, I tried installing Messenger again, fixing disk permissions with disk utility, as well as other things, none worked. Then I was looking for where this nasty mbukernel file lived.
That was when I noticed that "Microsoft Excel.app" was in the /Applications folder instead of the "/Applications/Microsoft Office 2011", so I moved the Microsoft Excel.app back into the office folder and wallah it all works as intended.
Hopefully that will help yourself and others with this obscure problem.

Utilizing the program flip for mac wmv

I have installed flip for mac wmv and everytime I have accessed a program that utilizes windows media player it doesn't go to quicktime. It actually cannot open and keeps sending me to the windows website to download media player for mac, which I have previously posted I cannot open after downloading because my mac informs that I need to choose the application to open it. Thanks for any help.

My CD/DVD drive reads regular CDs/DVDs but installation DVDs such as iWork's and office for Mac it spits it out after trying to read it. Please help!!!

For some reason when I insert installation discs for programs like iWork's and office for Mac the drive does not read the disc. I tried movies and music and they worked perfectly. I was able to fix the problem with the iWork's disc by creating a disc image in another drive, I have yet to do this with the Office for Mac but I would like to know what could be the reason for this problem. Any help is appreciated.

I forgot that I have an extended AppleCare Protection Plan, I contacted Apple today (in Sydney) and they took me through step by step. I tried inserting my OS X disc and it accepted it, I tried putting in a commercial DVD (Star Wars) and it started playing. I then tried putting in a commercial CD and it wouldn't work through iTunes. It made incredibly sick whirring noises and then eventually (approx 5 minutes later) appearred on my desktop, but iTunes7 would not recognise the disc.
Then he suggested I log in under another username which I did... Then my drive prompty died. It does not accept any disc now. He said that I need to have my iBook seen to by a technician. Since I have the extended warranty, my repair shouldn't cost me anything (the extended warranty was ovver $400, so it better not cost anything), so I can't give you an indication as to what you will be up for.
You do not need o take your iBook to the place where you bought it, but ensure you have your sales receipt.

You need a Firewire cable to run between the two Macs. Using Utility>Migration Assistant running on your new MacBook Pro, transfer what you want (with all the preferences and such) from your MacBook to your MBP. Here's more info from Apple.
You might have an issue with the Serial number for Office, but hopefully you have that around.

I use MegaPov for 3D-rendering. MegaPov is a Mac version of the free PovRay, a photrealistic renderer. It is perfect, if you like to write animation scripts to program elaborate animations and shading.
If you prefer a GUI to a scripting language you may consider Blender; it is also free.
Rather expensive, but with an elaborate GUI are Maya and Cinema 4D; both are available for the mac.

Until the MacBook Air was released and supported in 10.5, the Mac did not consider USB to be a valid Networking Protocol. So set the Mac with USB solutions aside.
To connect computer-to-computer, you typically need to be using an Ethernet crossover cable. Assigning the same address to two Ethernet devices is never the solution -- it gives a Network Conflict, just as you said.
If your Windows box has some mechanism for Sharing its WiFi connection over Ethernet, you would have to follow its rules. Whether that means Manually assigning an Ethernet Address in the same range or the PC will provide the Address, I do not know.
Best success may be running an Ethernet cable to your Wired/Wireless Base Station, or using a "gaming adapter" (Ethernet-to-Wireless no drivers required) connected to the Mac's Ethernet port to give it WiFi access. What is your Base Station {Cable, DSL, FIOS, Other} ? Ethernet cables can be up to 100 meters (an American Football Field). Often the Base Station can be moved closer for more convenience.
