Transfer 1 asset to multiple assets

I'm looking for the functionality to transfer 1 asset to multiple assets in one in one transaction.  In transaction code ABUMN, there is a "multiple asset" functionality but it cannot be used to transfer 1 asset to multiple assets.  SAP will give an error message "You want to post a retirement to asset XXXXX. This is not possible, since a retirement was already posted to this asset in the current document."  Is there another transaction code to accomplish this or SAP don't provide this functionality?
Thanks

  • Transferring from one asset to multiple assets

    Dear SAPians
How can we transfer from one asset to more than one assets. Can we do it thru ABUMN or there's any other way?
    Regards
    Zain

    Hi Dominic,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have tried ABUMN. I am entering into the transaction ABUMN and specifiying transaction data (posting and asset value dates). Then I am pressing the "Multiple assets" button after which a List option is available.
I am entering the amount or percentage in partial tranfer tab.
Then I am entering asset numbers in 'from asset' and 'to asset' fields like:
    From asset 300000001 to 300000005
    From asset 300000001 to 300000007
When I am pressing enter, it accepts only one entry from above specified list.
That means it allows only one to one asset transfer not one to many. Is there any other setting or way to do asset tranfer from one asset to multiple assets?
    regards

  • Transfer Prior Year Asset to Multiple new assets

    Hello friends,
We are required to breakdown one of our large Expansion Machinery Assets to multiple assets to reflect the main equipment purchased for the project.
There is a transaction in SAP (ABUMN) Transfer with-in Company Code.  I think this transaction will work OK, EXCEPT for the following issue:
The Old Asset currently has a book life of 8 years.  When we break this asset down, there are a few peices of equipment that we would like to depriciate at 12 years.
If we use Transaction ABUMN (Transfer) the transation will automatically move the % of depr allocation to the $ transfered based on book life of the old asset (8 years).  What this will do is show the new asset (that has a book life of 12 years) as being over depriciated.
When this project is completed and the assets have been changed, I would like to show an adjustment in Depriciation Expense.
I am not sure as to which transaction ABAA or ABMA to be used to adjust the depreciation. Or is that I need to tackle this differently.
    Please advise.

    Dear Friends,
Thank you for spending time on my request. As a solution. I have used write-up in Asset Accounting to adjust the additional depreciation which was generated  due to change in the useful life of Asset. I have still not done the changes in production system. Can anyone of you please confirm what I have done is correct. so that I can replicate this in our production system.

  • Multiple Assets transfer in ABUMN

    Hi All,
I need to transfer 1 asset to multiple assets (eg 20 assets equally) within same comapany code. I tried thru T code ABUMN by choosing option "multiple assets".
There, under "From asset" i gave the same asset number 2 times, one below the other and in "To assets" I gave 2 different assets. When i hit enter, the second line item gets deleted, making 1 asset transfer to 1 asset.
Could anyone let me know whether its possible to transfer 1 asset to multiple assets in ABUMN or any other way.
    Thanks,
    Ameet

    Hi,
This can be done through ABUMN only, but not ata time. for example:
You have to post 3 transactions individually to that old asset.
For the first ABUMN transaction choode partial transfer and choose amount specification.
For the second ABUMN transaction choode partial transfer and choose amount specification.
For the last ABUMN transaction choose Complete retiremnet. (So the balancewill be transfered to the third new asset)
    Please check.

  • Tranfser assets with transaction ABUMN to multiple assets

    Hello,
When executing the transaction ABUMN to transfer assets within a company code, there is a button"multiple assets". In the normal functionality, when only transfering one asset, it is possible to create a new asset. Is it also possible to transfer multiple assets to multiple new assets?
I hope this clearly describes the problem, if not, please ask.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
In SAP one can transfer multiple assets to multiple Assets though while transferring multiple assets to multiple assets SAP does not provide the facility to create a new asset as one can do while transferring from one asset to another

  • Transfer assets from one asset class to another having different depreciation keys.

    Hi Gurus,
I am a noob in FICO, and I am facing a problem while transferring assets from one asset class to another.
    Below is the scenario.
I created two assets 100000000000-0 under asset class 4690a and 200000000000-0 under asset class 4690b. And I am trying to transfer the
asset from class 4690b to 4690a by selecting the option ‘New Asset’ in the transaction ABUMN. While doing this, I am receiving an error message as below.
'Posting with trans. type 300 not possible (No acquisition posted).'
         Message No. AA324.
    Diagnosis:
Transaction type 300 belongs to a transaction type group, which can only be used to post to assets to which posting has already been performed. However, no postings have been made to this asset.
    Procedure:
Use a transaction type from a transactio type group, which can be used for the first acquisition to an asset.
The error is related to the transaction type which I hadn’t explicitly created anywhere. But, when checked in transaction AO76, the transaction  type 300 belongs to the transaction type group 30. In this group I am not able to find any solution related to the error.
Moreover, in some of the threads in SCN, I read that modifying the transaction type group might lead to something fatal.
Kindly help me in the below.
    1. What exactly the error message is related with?
    2. Is there any other method to transfer the asset to another class?
Please let me know if any further details are required regarding the scenario.

    Hi ,
I understand that you want to transfer the old asset to new asset with different asset class with different depreciation keys and the old asset is not yet capitalized and does not have any Asset Values.
Assuming that since the First Asset is not yet capitalized, that seems to be that its just that ASset Master is created and no Asset Values appear in the Asset.(in other words no acquisition, capitalization, no dep. start etc.)..
Alternatively this asset can be advised to be blocked and flagged for deletion and create a new Asset in the new Asset Class and then capitalize the new asset by doing the acquisition according to the business process i.e. either via PO based process(GR) or Non PO based process.
The transfer of asset is required incase the old asset still have the values and you are transferring the old asset to new one with the left over values.
Also would request you to kindly share some screenshots of the AW01n of the old asset and screenshots of the AS03 to have more idea on it and provide a better solution to the same..
    Warm Regards,
    Vineet

  • Multiple Assets in a Purchase Order

    Hi All
If a line item has been created in a purchase order with a multiple asset number, when i want to goods receipt the same order how do i make sure that the system allow me to receipt the specific asset number.

    Hi,
System will not distrubute any qty or amount during GR as well as system will not generate any accounting document also after GR in the case of multiple account assignment.
System will distrubute the quantity and value during IR based on the option you selected during the creation of PO. As well as system will generate accounting document during IR.

  • ABUMN using multiple assets

    Hi experts,
I am trying to process transaction ABUMN for about 100 assets.  When I click on the multiple assets button, only six lines appear.  The clipboard functionality does not appear to work.  The clipboard icon is greyed out.
Does anyone know how to make the clipboard function work for this transaction so that I can cut and past all 100 assets in the transaction?  Or is there a better way to do this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Karen,
I did the testing and what i understand that we need to paste 6 assets enter and scroll down paste another six assets and like that you need to post all assets.
Then simulate it, you can see all asset values at a time.
Still if you get any issues, pl let me know.

  • ME2K - Multiple Asset selection

    Hi All,
I need a report of Purchase order value (Total Value of P.O) based on Asset number.
When I run ME2k I get a breakdown of line item values.
But I need the total value of the P.O. currently system is displaying the net price of line item.  I know I can download to excel and manipulate the report to give me the total.
I have 100 assets and each assets contains more than 200 line items. So it will be a time consuming process.
But in ME2K initial screen, Multiple selection of Asset is not possible.
I also tried with structures/tables to get report. But it went in vain.
Is there any possibilites to get the purchase order values(total value) for multiple assets???
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards
    Senthil Kumar

    Hi All,
Thank you very much for prompt and quick reply.
your reply is very userful for me.
I still have problem in calculating the P.O total. If I have selected total and sub total value.
but system is calculating only the net price. For ex. in a P.O there are 3 line items and net price for each line time is 100 and quantity in each line item is 3. Now the total value of the P.O is 3 ( quantity) X 3 ( line item) X 100 ( net price) = 900. But currently system is showing 300. Its not calculating as per the quantity of the P.O.
    Any other way is there?

  • Asset Transfer ( Regular asset to AUC asset )

Can we transfer regular asset to AUC asset class.. When I'm going to transfer reguler asset to AUC it gave me following error
"Account 'Acc.dep. accnt. for ordinary depreciation' could not be found for area 01"
    Regards
    Kesharika

    Hi,
You can transfer from normal asset to AUC asset only if you selected the check box trans APC only in Tcode OAY1 within your COD for TTY 300 and 310.
Please test the same in your sand box, i hope it works.

  • Multiple Assets

My client wishes to create individual assets for al Material components, whose value is over $1000.  Settling to multiple assets will not work, because the Asset values should be exactly equal to the PO amount.  Creating WBS elements for each one of these materials is not feasible, since there are over 100K components.  My initial thought process was to create a new Acct  assignment category which will post to a an Asset account, and collect cost in a statistical internal order.  This means that I would have write some thing custom to get the total project cost.
I would appreciate if you can suggest a more elegant way of handling this requirement.

There was a simpler solution, which just didn't strike me.  I guess I can handle it by assigning the Asset costs to a Statistical WBS element inside the same project, which will help in commitments and budgeting too.  This saves me the need to create a custom report.
