Transfer account from old MBP to new one and now my account password does not work.

I trasferred my account from one MPB to a new one using targeted disk method. I left my desk while it finished and came back to a registration page. I registered and the system rebooted. Now I see my login details but the password form my old Mac fails. The hint it gives me also seems to be bogus becaues I've tried many variations of the hint and they also do not work.
I'm submitting this from my original MBP and had not problem using my old password logging in to it. Why didn't my password transfer properly and now how do I fix my new MBP?
I made sure duing the transfer process to select everything for transfer -- accounts, applications, etc. All check boxes were checked.

So now you have 2 accounts, logout of this one and in to the other.

Other than what you have already done, you should clear the cache from your browser and, if you use it, your Facebook app. Also, deleting old texts can free up some room.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:

I have also contacted Cableone's technical support and they say because thunderbird is not their system they have no responsibility to make it work. I prefer to use Thunderbird for my email - how can I make it work? Also, I have tried the Thunderbird 'Automatic Account Configuration' help and it does not work.

Ask your less than helpful provider for the server settings and setup the new account up manually.
You want to know IMAP or POP and the name of the server. The port number and if it uses SSL/TLS security.
You need the same info for the SMTP server for outbound mail.

Update Mail on the old MBP, copy the entire Mail folder sitting in your user's Library, to the same place on the new one. Go to the new one, launch Mail, and it should display a dialog box stating that it's updating and converting your Mail.

In most countries, music and apps can be downloaded for free in the iTunes/App stores if you log into the new iPad using the Apple ID with which you used to purchase them. The same goes for most films. You can also sync the old iPad with a computer and then sync the new one with the same computer, and restore it from the backup you made of the old iPad.
If you have notes and emails on the old iPad, go into 'System Preferences' and make sure they are saved into the iCloud. You can then retrieve them from the cloud by logging in to the same email/iTunes accounts on the new iPad.

I replaced the iTunes folder on the new one with the iTunes folder from the old one but the music doesn't show up in the library. If I go to the iTunes music folder and click on a song it gets added to the new library, but I have 4000 songs. My admin user name is the same on both computers. What's the secret?

How do I transfer data from old laptop to new one without using time machine?

I just bought a new Macbook and want to transfer everything over and wipe my old Macbook so the kids can have it. I have an external hard drive, that has photos etc. on it already. When I try to do a Time Machine back up, it tells me the drive is not formatted correctly and that to complete the back up, it will have to erase everything. I can't move the photos back on to the old Macbook because there isn't enough free disc space. So, I don't think I can do this with Time Machine. How would you recommend I transfer the data over? Thanks!

Use Migration Assistant during the setup of the new machine. Connect both machines up to a wired network if possible and follow the instructions. It's worth running software update on the old MacBook first as there was an update to Migration assistant for OS X 10.5 and 10.6 published recently.

I have a laptop that I was using while my main computer was in the shop for repair. In that time I got an Ipod 30 Gig. I connected it to the laptop and downloaded quite a few songs. After I got my main 'puter back, I installed all the relevent software and so on for the Ipod. I downloaded some new songs and videos to this computer, but it will not go on to my Ipod. I plug in and it asks if I want to overwrite my old library? Well heck no! I want to merge them..so to speak. Well, I let it overwrite but it didn't put any new songs or video on it. Said I was using another library at this time. !!! This is getting very aggrevating. Does anyone know how to get all my songs/video's on one computer and all of them on the Ipod as well???

The iPods will not auto sync betten mulitiple computers. You will have to set it to sync manually. Search for iPod multiple computers there are lots of posts telling you how to do this.
