I have recently upgraded my 2009 macbookpro 17 to an i7 macbook pro 17.
My questons:
Can I transfer my updated osx version 10.7.2 to my new mbp?
Can I transfer my paralles desktop 6 to my new mbp? I upgraded my parallels 6 via online upgrade only I do not have a disc only the original 6.
Can I retain the osx version 10.7.2 when i erase all files? I plan to sell my old mbp but I need to remove all apps except for the osx.
Can transfer all my itunes and apps downloaded application to my new mbp?
Thats all I can think of for now. Ill just add things when I remember 'em

No, you use the version of OS X it came with (10.7.3 I'm assuming).

Also, per the Apple software agreement, you can only sell/give a mac with the original version of OS X it originally came with. If you upgraded, those versions of OS X had a license that was purchased by you and is not transferable

The conventional way to do this would be to just grab the songs from the PC where they originated. However, if you'd rather pull them directly from the iPhone, you'll need a 3rd party tool such as PhoneView. I hope this helps!

Start up your old PowerMac G4 holding down the "T" key, for target disk mode.
On your new MacBook Pro open "Migration Assistant" in your utilities folder.
Connect the 2 computers by firewire cable and follow the prompts in Migration Assistant.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

I just got my new macbook air and I would like to transfer one application from my mac mini to macbook air.
The problem is that I cannot use migrating assistant because on my mac mini I got 200gb apps and my macbook air has only 128GB space + i dont need those apps there.
How do I do it?
I tried to copy the files ( see attachment ) and paste them in my macbook air specific folders, but didn't work the app just appears in doc for second.

If only a few App's, the best way is to re-install on the new Mac (via App Store, D/L, or DVD)

If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:

You need to clarify what you are asking.
An iphoto installation has two major parts: 1. The application or program - that's the software and 2. The Library - that's where your actual pictures are.
So when you say:
I want to keep using the old Iphoto program on the new Imac. There is already an IPhoto program on the new Imac but I do not want to add or delete from that one.
It sounds like you want to move the application and not the Library. Most folks want to move the Library, and it makes no sense to have two versions of the application on your mac.
