Transfer all music from iphone to new macbook pro

I would like to transfer all my songs from my iphone which was sync with a PC to my new macbook book pro, i have transfered all the itunes purchased songs but cannot transfer all the other songs. I have transfered all contacts etc... to the new macbook, but no joy with the remaining songs. can anyone help?

The conventional way to do this would be to just grab the songs from the PC where they originated. However, if you'd rather pull them directly from the iPhone, you'll need a 3rd party tool such as PhoneView. I hope this helps!

  • Need to get photos and music from iphone to new macbook pro

I gave my old macbook pro to my daughter and bought a new one. However, i need to find out how to get my music, photos, etc from my iphone onto my new computer. When I try to sync i get the message my iphone contents will be erased and replaced with computer's content. Help!

Photos can be offloaded to any computer. If a computer does not have iTunes installed, it treats the iPhone as a camera and gives an option to save the photos.
Anyway, photo's aren't synced are they. They are always stored on the iPhone and never a part of a backup.

  • How to sync music from iPhone to new MacBook pro

Hi everyone I just got my first Mac computer so please excuse my ignorance. I have an iPhone that has a ton of music on it most of it from the iTunes Store but some songs are from CD's from people. I am a dance teacher so a good chunk of my music is not bought from iTunes. I need to sync the music from my iPhone to iTunes on my computer. Can someone please give me step by step directions on how to do this so I won't lose all the music that was not from iTunes. I also do not want the sync to erase the music from my iPhone because I need it for the gym. Thanks so much the help is so appreciated!

Any music you purchased from iTunes can be transferred, the rest will have to be imported to the MBP from the prior source.  Examine this discussion:

  • I have a Power Mac G4 (2004) and want to transfer all my files to a new MacBook Pro 15.4". Can this be done thru firewire cable or do I have to transfer to an external Firewire 800 hard drive first?

I have a Power Mac G4 (2004) and want to transfer all my files to a new MacBook Pro 15.4". Can this be done thru firewire cable or do I have to transfer to an external Firewire 800 hard drive first?

Do it with a Firewire cable (buy a 800/400 adapter if you need it) - the USB transfer takes a much longer time.
Start up your old PowerMac G4 holding down the "T" key, for target disk mode.
On your new MacBook Pro open "Migration Assistant" in your utilities folder.
Connect the 2 computers by firewire cable and follow the prompts in Migration Assistant.

  • How do you transfer ALL music from iPhone to computer?

I got a new macbook pro and want to transfer all my music (also the ones that weren't purchased from the iTunes store) onto it. How?

The iPhone is not a storage/backup device.
You should copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Welcome to the world of Macs. See this introduction to Macs. It might be that you need to sync your iPhone with you MBP. To do this you would connect your iPhone to your MBP which should start up iTunes so you can sync music, vids, and possibly contacts.

  • Music from iphone 4 to macbook pro

is there any way for me to transfer my music from my iphone 4 to my new macbook pro? i know you can do it with windows but why is it so hard to transfer to a Mac?? please let me know if there is any solution.

For purchased items: iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
For songs that you ripped from CD's, you'll need something like: http://thelittleappfactory.com/irip/
Or alternatively, if you still have access to the PC with the music on, then set up home sharing

  • Transfer some items from iMac to new MacBook Pro

I am buying a new laptop and want to transfer some not all of my files from my iMac to the new MacBook Pro.
When I bought my iMac 2 years ago I just transferred everything from my old Mac to the new one via USB I think.
Again I do not want to transfer everything.
The laptop is a secondary computer to take with us on the road and or my wife can play her games and not try up the main computer.
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

Your best bet is to use Setup Assistant when your new Mac first starts up.  Transfer your User accounts and some or all of the contents of the home folders (you can't pick and chose individual files, but you can omit some broad categories).  See How do I set up a new Mac from my old Mac or its backups? for details. Then you can delete what you don't want.
The reason you should do it that way is, the user accounts on both Macs will then be the same; each account on one Mac will have the same permissions to data for the same account on the other Mac, and other drives as well, such as your backups.

  • Is it possible to transfer photos, files from iphone 5s to macbook pro via bluetooth?

Before I got the iphone 5s, I was using a Nokia phone.  I was able to transfer photos, files from my Nokia phone to macbook pro via bluetooth connections.  It was very simple and POSSIBLE (even though apple support staff said it was not possible to do so).  My macbook pro does NOT need to be paired with Nokia phone as long as it can DISCOVER the nokia phone and vice versa.
Hence, after i got the iphone 5s recently, I'd expected both devices (iphone 5s and macbook pro) to communicate and connect via bluetooth as easily as Nokia phone.  However, I was disappointed to find out the iphone 5s kept "searching" for discoverable device even though my macbook DISCOVERED the iphone!!  Thus, I was NOT able to transfer any files from these two devices.
Any apple technical people care to explain why BOTH are apple products cant work?  A Nokia phone and macbook can.  Very strange, isn't it?

Althought, you can use bluetooth to transfer photos, files from iPhone to Macbook,However,it is so slowly,if you want to quickly copy photos/files from iPhone to Mac,you can use tools or software to help you, such as iStonsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer,This is a very professional tool,Hope this helps!

  • HT3399 I have a MacBook Pro and want to transfer all my programs to a new MacBook Pro.

I bought a new MacBook Pro. Now I want to transfer my data and selected programs from my old to my new computer without using total backup. What possibilities do I have?

Move your data to a new Mac - Apple Support
Note that some apps, MS Office for one, sometimes don't migrate well and may need to be reinstalled.

  • Sync Apps and Music from iPhone to new MacBook

My MacBook Pro has a new hard drive, and I would like to sync my iPhone.  How do I get my music and apps from my iPhone to iTunes?

Transfer your iTunes library from your computer's backup along with all other important data that should be included with your computer's backup.
If you don't have a backup, iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

  • Transfer iTunes from iPhone onto new MacBook Pro...?

Many of my songs are...well, all of them are...not strictly speaking, downloaded from iTunes. Most of them I downloaded from mediafire, 4shared, etc...I recently purchased a MacBook Pro, and I'm trying to transfer all of my music that I downloaded onto my iPhone onto my MacBook, but it seems that syncing it won't do the task - either because the music is not back up on iTunes, or simply because of the way that the iPhone is configured (it has a different syncing process than a regular iPod). I looked up some answers on Google, but all of them require me to download programs, and I'm not sure I want to put my computer at that sort of risk. Is there an easy solution to this problem?
    Thanks,
    Paula

It is important to make a backup of your iTunes Music Library. In case of data loss, including hard drive failure or replacement, accidental deletion, and so forth, you'll be able to restore it from your backup.
