  • Transfer iMovie 09 project to another Mac

I have started a school video project on my Mac and want to transfer the project, including all of the source clips, to another person's Mac for them to complete the project. Any suggestions?

I don't know if this is the "right" way...but I had to accomplish the exact same thing. And it worked for me. If you have an external hard drive...skip to the end!
I made a folder on my desktop. With 2 more folders inside, labeled "iMovie Projects" and "iMovie Events", and you might need one more called "iMovie original from speed conversion, if you adjusted the clips in your project.
I then went to the Finder, and copied the specific "iMovie Project" file, and corresponding "iMovie Event" file to the folders I had created, and burned to DVD. (I also included the mp3 of the soundtrack from my iTunes, in case I would need it)
Took disc to my friend's house...copied the contents onto her desktop, and then put the appropriate files into her Imovie, within her project and events folders, and all worked like a charm. I had to put the mp3 of my soundtrack into her Itunes, since for some reason, it wasn't attached to my Project. But once in itunes, it was ok.
I'd be interested to hear if someone has a better way, but at least this worked.
A flash drive would work too I suppose, and if you have an external HD, it gets MUCH easier, as you just mount the drive, and from WITHIN your Imovie, you drag your project file to the external's icon that shows in Imovie and it allows you to copy your whole project, with ALL corresponding event files. This is the "right" way to move a project! I had to be unconventional, since I wanted to give my friend the movie I made, and didn't have an extra hard drive to use!

  • How do I transfer an imovie project on one mac to another mac?

I need to get an iMovie HD project from another Mac onto my machine to continue editing in iMovie HD 6 - some sound issues that need resolving. How can I transfer the project? The original project is too large to fit on a DVD (Dual layer). Will I have to connect both machines via ethernet and physically transfer it? If so, how do I do this - I need to have an exact clone of the project (all titles, separated audio etc...). Please help!

'til vers6, an iM project is a 'solid' package, a single file you can easily transfer from one Mac to another.. establish a local network (ethernet, firewire or wlan/airport), allow one machine access to the other and simply drag'n drop project file (has a star as icon) onto other Mac ...
I like the socalled 'Target Mode', MacOs allows: connect both machines by firewire, launch one Mac and hold the T key .. now, Mac is a firewire-drive, you can access as 'external harddrive' by other Mac .

  • How do you Move an iMovie '08 Project to Another Mac?

What's the best way to move an iMovie '08 project to another Mac on my network? (Both Macs have iMovie '08.) Specifically, is there an easy way to move a project and the event containing the imported clips in one step?
Often, I'll do work on my Intel MacBook then transfer stuff to my Intel iMac for long term storage. In iMovie '08, I tried various imports and exports and nothing worked so well. For example, when you drag and drop a project file from one computer to another the clips don't come with it. You can play the movie but the clips in the media browser are grayed-out.
There ought to be something like the archive routine that packages up everything and lets you put it on another computer for further editing.
    Thanks!

I would like to know the same thing but not for another Mac... just another user. Should be almost the same procedure right?
My iMovie '08 is crashing like crazy! I just want to get the projects into iMovie using a fresh user and hope that fixes it. I can see where copying/moving preferences into the library of the other user (along with duping the projects in the movies folder) might succeed in opening the project in another user. I'm just afraid of moving bad prefs or something.

  • Transfer Quantity from Project to another

    Hello Dears,
    My Scanairo is :
allocate the quantities on the project in the inventory by Move order , if i used some quantities and want to transfer the other to another project or return to the inventory.
    how can i do this?
    thanks

    Hi
I understand you have item on hand quantity in Inventory.
Assuming you have enabled Project Manufacturing then inventory on hand quantities are kept on separate locators, based on projects and tasks.
Items you purchased for a project are received into inventory at a project locator, and costs are interfaced to Oracle Projects as actual costs of that project.
In Inventory you can use the transaction - Project Transfer that will move quantity from one project to another. The value of such transaction is interfaced to Oracle Projects as two expenditures - one negative that credit the original project costs, and the second is positive value added to the receiving project costs.

  • OWB copying entire project to another repo environment

    Hi Experts,
We are using Oracle 10g R2 and I'm still pretty much new to OWB. My question probably have been answered before but I can't find in the forum.
    Details:
    - We have 3 Repository Environment (Dev,Test,Prod).
    - Users login in Dev
    - In Dev we create our projects, deploy mappings and execute for initial test
    - When everything works fine, we set the locations and configuration to TEST environment. Again deploy and test for larger data set
    Question:
    - Is it possible to copy the entire projects from Dev into TEST environment? If yes, please assist me on how to do it.
    Concern:
Although changing location and the configuration for control center from one environemnt into another works fine. For me, having the copy in TEST is more organize and easier to manage.
Thank you for reading and hoping to get some answers.

After the import, you can check if all the objects were imported in the log. If the project wasn't recognized, all the internal objects will fail.
But before you should choose if you want to match by names or id. If the projects were created isolated in each enviroment, you have to choose "by names". If the project names are diferent, then nothing will be imported. I only use "match by id" when one project was a result of a previous import of the other project.
Also, you have to choose if you want to merge or replace the objects, because you'll have many duplicated objects. If you have chosen "create only" and the objects was already there, nothing happens.

  • Move iMovie 08 project to another Mac

I have an iMovie '08 project on my Core 2 Duo iMac, and I and going out of town. I'd like to move the iMovie '08 project to my MacBook Pro.
Copying the project over via flash drive doesn't seem to work. The project doesn't open on my MBP. iMovie 08 only launches a new project. I When I show the bundle contents, I can see that everything's there.
What's the proper way to move/copy an iMovie '08 project form one Mac to another? Both Macs are Intel based with Leopard.

    Hi p
As I understand it - I would try to do like this:
    • Connect the lap-top via FW and start it with T-key pressed to get it to present itself as
    an external hard disk
    • This should be able to add to browser window in iM08
    • Now move the material in the browser to Your lap-top.
Think/Guess that this should work. I did likevice to my external "My Book" drive.

  • How to transfer an Imovie project from one Mac to another?

I don't see any way to save it onto a disc or flash drive to get it to the other computer.
    Thanks for the help,
    Charlie

You have tocopy the entire iPhoto library intact as a single entity - projects are only logical things - entires in the iPhoto database

  • How do I move an iPhoto project to another mac?

Reading through the threads it seems I must move the entire iPhoto library.
    However a few questions:
    1. I don't want to mess up the library on my target mac with the older library that contains the project.  How can I import the library without causing a problem to the good library
2.I assume I can connect firewire, and do that transfer, but how specifically, does one do that?  connect the macs with firewire, then what?
thanks I am kind of a mac noobie.

OK an update.  I put my old computer into target disk mode, renamed the iphoto library to "iphoto library old" and dragged it to the desktop of the new computer.  I guess I can use it on the desktop, but really what I need to know now is can I MERGE the two libraries?  I deleted all the old projects except the project I want before transferring to the new computer, so all I really want to do is MERGE the libraries.  So I guess question 1 above still stands. I don't want to mess up my new iphoto library....
lastly, I don't want to use third party software to merge the libraries.  Isn't there a way to just export the project?

  • How can I hardwire transfer an iMovie project to another iPad

Using a hardwire connection (and not iCloud or Airdrop) is there a way to transfer an iPad iMovie project directly from one iPad to another iPad so that the editing can continue on the second iPad?
I can't use any wireless or bluetooth connection and I don't want to go through my laptop iTunes app as a middle man. How can I marry those two iPads and get that iMovie Project from one to the other without a wireless connection.
    Thanks Steve

There is no way to connect two iPads to each other through a cable. Everything would have to be wireless or you would have to use iTunes to move data around.
What you wish to do is not possible.

  • I want to transfer my entire library from a Mac to a Dell

I tried to use the backup function to save all my music to DVDs. The music is copied to the DVD, but when I try to import it to my Dell, it copies a few songs, locks up, and spits the DVD out asking for the next disk. It seems to only transfer songs that I purchased; not my entire library. Is there a way to get the entire library from one computer to the next? My Mac is old and I want to put all my music to the new computer.

assuming all your media files are in the default location, copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media) folder to the exact same location on the new machine.
you can use an external HD or your local network.

  • Opening FCP project on another Mac.

I made a project using FCP 5.1. on my 24' intel iMac, i did a media manage and moved the project file and all the files to an external hard drive. Now im trying to open the project up on a Mac pro G5, which had FCP 5.0 but i updated it to 5.1, but when i attempt to open the project file i get a "General Error (41)" message. What is happening, why won't it open?

Try opening FCP first and then open up the project directly from FCP's OPEN menu.

  • Can't Edit Project From Another Mac

I'm trying to finish an iMovie project that I started in iMovie '05 on my PowerBook G4, but that computer is too full to run iMovie properly and so instead of taking the time to clean that computer, I decided to use my girlfriend's new MacBook to do the job on a better processor. Unfortunately, when I started to try and add transitions, it doesn't let me adjust the duration of the photo, since the photo library the project was created from cannot be found on this computer. If I don't adjust the times, then the transitions will just cut down the display times of all of my photos that I add them to. Does anyone have any advice in this situation or any workarounds that I could try? Thanks!

Not having done the procedure that you are doing, I can only speculate.
In a test project, I imported a photo into iMovie from my iPhoto library. Then I deleted that photo from my iPhoto library and emptied the trash. I was still able to change the duration of the photo in iMovie by using the Show Photo Settings box, even though the photo was no longer in my iPhoto library. (But I could not adjust the duration by control clicking on the photo and going into the Show Info box.) The above leads me to believe that your problem is not related to your photo having been created in the library of another computer. The photo would still be in your iMovie media file that you brought with you when transferring the project, and that's all that should be required for iMovie to edit it.
I think that your problem may be that the version of iMovie running on your girlfriend's computer is incompatible with iMovie5 that you used to create your project. Is she running iLife 08 and iMovie 6.0.4? Or exactly what? It it's iM6.0.3, you should be getting a little dialogue box that asks if you want to update your old version.
Or, it may be that the iMovie version on your girlfriend's computer is not working properly. You might consider shutting down iMovie and trashing the com.apple.iMovie.plist file located in User/Library/Preferences. iMovie will create a new .plist file on relaunch. Then do a permissions repair using the Utilities/Disk Utility app.
I am not running iLife 08, if that's what your girlfriend is running, so don't know if the above will work. It is a procedure that is commonly used when running iMovie 6.0.3. But use at your own risk.
Perhaps others on this forum will weigh in with other suggestions.
    Good luck with this.

  • How to transfer imovie '09 footage to another mac?

I downloaded video from camcorder to my imac. How can I get footage from my imac to my macbook pro without downloading from camcorder again? I tried to drop into a memory stick but could not do it. Any suggestions?

If you have not used your footage in a project, you can find the footage in the Movies/iMovie Events you can do a simple copy in the Finder.
Copy the Event folder and place it at the exact same place on your other Mac. (Movies/iMovie Events/Event Name. Then start iMovie on the second machine.
If you have used the Event footage in a project, and you want to preserve your project, you must make the move within iMovie.

  • Cost transfer from one project to another

    Dear Sreenivas
    Hi! How r u?
Again I have need a clarification while settlement.
How can I settle Internal Activity cost to AUC?
See I created one network and also Internal Activity.
In Internal Activity assigned hours and confirmed it.
Than I settle Network to WBSE... its work perfect.
But when I settle WBSE to AUC its give error...
"Define a settlement cost element for receiver type FXA".
See WBSE to AUC working fine for Service activity, and Stock and non stock material assigned.
Even Checked allocation structue everything is fine.
For Internal Activity I used Secondary Cost element.
Hope U get it my requirement.
    Kindly reply asap.
    Thanks in advance.
