Transfer app to another account?

Hi,
I bought a GPS app a few months ago for £70, and have found that I don't really use it.
My father likes the app however... paying for it again would be a waste as I'm not using my copy, so how can I transfer this app to his account?

Apps are DRM protected & tied to the account that was used to purchase them. They cannot be transferred to another account. However, you are permitted under the EUSLA to "share" apps with up to 5 users in the same household. To do so, you would first disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences, which in windows is under the edit menu, on the computer in the same household you want to share this app with. Connect your phone, itunes running, DO NOT SYNC!. Sign whoever's computer this is out of itunes.. Sign into itunes using YOUR ACCOUNT INFO. Go up to Store>Authorize This Computer. Then go up to File>Transfer Purchases. All of the purchased content on your phone will be transferred. Sign out of itunes, disconnect your phone. Sign whoever's computer this is back into itunes. You can then sync the app in question to their phone. All updates to this app must be done through YOUR account.
You can do the same through itunes "Home Sharing" feature.

    No you can't, all content (apps, music etc) that you download from the store will remain tied to the account that downloaded it - you can't transfer them to another account, nor can you merge accounts.

    If you mean iTunes libraries, sync it with the desired iTunes library. If you mean iTunes Store accounts, an iPod can contain content from five of them at once with no special actions needed.

    I have about 5 apps that I purchased through my wife's account at the iTunes store. Is there a way that I can transfer these apps to my account? It sure would make updates through iTunes easier, as right now I have to log out of one account and in to another for all updates to occur.

    No. DRM does not permit this. The way you're doing it is the way it has to be done. While you can share apps, you cannot transfer them. Same applies to music, etc.

    I want to transfer a application from one account to another and i get this error:
    You cannot transfer apps with a App product ID that is the same as a product ID used by the recipient's app.
    The Apple ID for both applications is different.
    The only thing in common in the SKU number which i have to admit, is poorly chosen for both apps - 01.
    I don't want to re-submit my apps so i can choose a new SKU number for one of them.
    Is there any way i can transfer them ?
    I think you should be able to choose a new SKU number when you transfer to another account because your app is going to belong in a new inventory.

    Found the answer today from Apple:
    "It is not possible to transfer an app that has an identical SKU/product ID to another app on the recipient's account. If you would like the app to be distributed on the App Store through this specific account, you will need to remove it from sale, delete it from the current account, and then upload it as a new app in the new account. Deleting the app will enable you to use the app name in the new account.
    When you move the app to the new account, you will disable current customers from receiving automatic and free updates of your app. Also, all customer reviews, rating, and ranking information will be reset.
    Deleting an app permanently removes the app and any associated In-App Purchases from iTunes Connect. After the app has been deleted, you won’t be able to reuse your app name and SKU. Also, if you have uploaded a binary or enabled the app for the iAd Network, you won’t be able to reuse your Bundle ID.

    I trashed my old account as my iPhone was stolen. Recreate the account with the exact same information. Unfortunately I cannot update my apps as it says that I'm on a different account.

    Why would you do that?  Just change your password.

    because you started a new account.  not sure why you would do that.

    You would have to sign into the old account in order to upgrade.  This is why you don;t go creating new accounts when you can just change your password.

    First thing you need to answer, is if you got this mac new or not!
    If you got it from a previous owner, and he did not clean it for you, then it's normal that there is stuff on it already.
    If you got it as brand new, then you should have had to create a user account the first time you turned it on.
    If there was already a user account on it, then it's not new and you should return it and ask for a real new unit.

    You can't.
    All 3rd party apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account used to purchase/download the apps. DRM cannot be transferred from one account to another.
    Why did you get a new iTunes account? Changing your email address alone does not require doing so.
