Transfer applications to ipad?

Does anyone know how to transfer applications to an IPAD?

Thank you.  What I really need now are the steps.  I synced my IPAD to my MAC, but I have word and excel on my mac that I purchased and am licensed for one other user.  In addition, I have a CD with Hoyle Card games on it I want to put on there, but have no idea what the steps are.  What I click on and/or how to drag and to where.
There is no version of MS Office for iOS, hence no version of MS Office that will run on your iPad.  There are compatibility apps, one mentioned above, and there are others to check out - Docs to Go, QuickOffice Pro HD are two others that handle native MS Office documents.
For games, there are lots of free ones, including card games, but you will need to get them from the App store and install them from there - those you have for OS X will not run on an iOS device.

    Hello crspedsrn,
You can download the previously purchased apps and games directly to your iPhone.  Use the steps in the following article:

Does anyone know if I can transfer on my ipad 3 applications already purchased on my iphone 4?
    Thanks a lot!

You can re-download previously purchased apps onto the iPad for free as long as they are compatible e.g. they don't require full phone capability : re-downloading.
If they are iPhone/iPod apps (i.e. not 'universal' apps which are indicated by a '+' symbol against them in the store), then they will just take up an iPhone sized portion of the screen, unless you press the '2x' button which will appear on the screen which will effectively double the size of each pixel in both directions (so therefore may appear pixelated).

  • How can I transfer photos from ipad 1 to pc

    I have an ipad 1 - ios 5.1.1
I want to transfer the photos on the ipad to a windows 8 pc.
Should be a really simple operation - yes? wrong.
After visiting 30+ webpages, downloading various 3rd party software (and deleting them again) - I am still unable to transfer photos from my ipad to a windows pc.
I connect the ipad 1 to a pc using cable.
    PC shows ipad.
Then you get the option to import photos (Which 20+ websites just repeat).
Contained in the DCIM Folder is 2 thumbnail photos. Yes - just 2. Two.
Stored on the ipad is nearly 3,000 photo's. NOT 2!
So how do you move photos from an ipad to PC?
    Next problem.
Someone recommended using Syncios - wonderful.
    All photos found.
All photos copied - except they are copied as thumbnails.
It would seem that ipad stores your photos as a thumbnail - but when you email the photo the true size is sent. (Thumbnail is 11kb - when I attach the same photo to an email it shows it as 1.1mb)
So - apart from creating and sending 3000 emails - so that I can transfer photos at their original resolution - HOW DO YOU TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM IPAD 1 TO A PC.
Apple really couldn't have made a 30second operation more difficult - or deliberately impossible.
There is NO option to do this via iTunes.
I can transfer photos from a PC to iPad using iTunes - but not the other way around.
So - please - does anyone have a degree in astro-physics that can explain how a person is supposed to transfer full sized photos, that are stored as thumbnails - from an iPAD 1 to a Win 8 pc?
ps... and yes I am irritated. This has taken me 2 days so far, and still unable.
pps... and no, I really don't need people posting - oh yes I have the same problem... I need answers.

HHow did the photos get on your iPad? since the original iPad does not have a camera, the photos were either received in emails, copied from the web or synced from your computer. If they were copied from emails or the web they should be available to copy off the iPad using whatever Camera or image capture application you have on your computer. Connect your iPad, start the application and transfer the photos.
if the photos were synced from your computer, they should still be on the computer used to sync from.

how do I transfer photos from ipad to imac

    Depends on the photos.
If the Photos were taken with the iPad or downloaded from the web onto the iPad, simply connect the iPd to the Mac  and use your favorite Photo Application to move them, or simply use Finder to open the iPad icon, (it will show up as a camera) and drag them from there to a folder on your computer.

'Normal' PC and Mac (OS X) software do not work on the iPad (iOS), they are different operating systems. You can only install apps from the iTunes App Store on your computer or the App Store app directly on your iPad.
Numbers (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/numbers/id361304891?mt=8) and Pages (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pages/id361309726?mt=8) are two options, as are third-party apps such as Documents To Go :

  • How do I transfer a paid iPad app from one iPad to another?

I am not sure where is the best place to post this question, but here it is anyway:
The school I work in has 37 iPads split between 2 mobile carts.  For a variety of reasons, the staff wands the iPads divided up by classroom.  No problem.  The problem is that they would like the paid apps on the ipads moved around so the grade level apps wind up in the appropriate classrooms.  This is logical.
My problem is I have no real idea how to free up iPads from one iPad so that they are available for transfer to another ipad.  I use Apple Configurator to acquire paid apps from the Volume Purchasing Program and download/install them initially to iPads.
One knowledgeable individual gave me this advice:
"If you placed the apps on the ipad using Apple Configurator, then you should be able to attach the initial iPad to AC, unsupervise the iPad, and the apps' licences should be available for redistribution.  Then connect iPad #2 to AC, turn Supervision on in AC, then add the specific app to iPad #2."
    - - - - That sounded too good to be true.  I tried it and found out that that process does not free up app licences (at lest when I tried it).  What I think is the problem is that I don't know Apple products and iOS well enough and missed steps.  (I am from the Netware/Microsoft AD/Windows computing environment.)
Could someone help an old grunt out and possibly provide a detailled set of steps how to transfer paid app licences from one iPad to another?  I appreciate any help.  Thanks

I can't answer your question and chances are that you could be here a long time before someone that can help will chime in. So from one old grunt to another, I think you would be better off posting your question in this forum. These folks should be more familiar with the type of thing that you are seeking help with.

Sync them via iTunes. All your apps should be backed up in your iTunes Library anyway.

how do I transfer photos from iPad 2 to a flash drive?

You don't.  There is the Camera Connection Kit, which let's you download pictures to your iPad via SD card, but the reverse is not a standard feature of iPad.  The best method would be to connect your iPad to your computer and transfer the pictures to your computer via iTunes.

  • How do I transfer my old iPad to a new person? I bought the new one and I am giving my original to my husband. I can't find out how to set it up for a new person?

I need help on how to transfer my old iPad to my husband

Once you're completely satisfied that your new iPad is set up properly with all of your apps and data, simply "restore" the old iPad to its factory-new state from within iTunes. There's a button to do just that on the main screen whenever your iPad is connected.
You can also perform a factory restore from the device itself, but it takes longer and is only for use in cases when iTunes isn't available.
Once the old device has been restored to its pristine state, you may set it up however you wish, with a new iTunes account, your shared iTunes account, etc.
    Good luck!

I have DVD's that I made from iMovie. I would like to know a way I can bring them back into a file that I can somehow transfer to my iPad, so I can show movies on it, the iPad.

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
    H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
    MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Here's one way to install. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Hi Im using OS Windows 7 Professional 32bit driver for apple ipad air in order to transfer photoes from ipad to hp laptop

Unable to transfer photoes from ipad to windows 7 laptop.
    Error message
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

That is one heck of a post for a newcomer here. Your instructions worked like a charm, with one exception:
When uninstalling the Broadcom Device, I had to check the box to delete the driver, and then had to scan for new hardware to get the device to show back up. Then I was able to load the edited driver software.
I am not complaining, but very grateful, as I was pulling my hair out on this one.
