We use the fixed asset subledger to maintain patents and patent applications. The patent applications do not amortize. How do I transfer from the patent application class to the patent class which will begin to amortize?

Yes you can, there is a loophole to the system. Here's what you want to do. First, upgrade the basic phone to whatever smart phone you want, if it's a 4g phone you want to order 2 SIM cards, because the one that's sent with the basic number will be stuck to that number, so when you switch back the basic phone, with the original monthly charge, then you can keep unlimited data if you have it, AND have the smartphone to replace the smartphone! (Keep in mind you will extend the basic phone's contract by an additional 2 years if you do this) By the way, the reason you want to do this way instead of an alternate upgrade, AKA "transfer upgrade", is because you will lose unlimited data that way. There are three ways you can keep it. One, buy a Certified Pre-owned Device from Verizon, two, buy a phone at full-retail price, and three, buy a used phone from some other retailer or user (aka craigslist or ebay). This option falls under the "other retailer or user" because the other number "used" the phone. Good luck!

Transfer Contacts from non iphone to iphone

Having been told that transferring contacts from non-iphone phones was easy, I tried to find out how. ATT has no earthly clue, and neither does my local Apple store. Even the website for ipohne says it can be done, without any help I can find. Our phones are Motorola phones, and we have more than 200 contacts beteween us and don't want to re-enter them manually. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

AT&T suggested using a jumpdrive and they give you a .pbb file...

and bought datapilot, they even have a tutorial for transfering to the iphone, as long as you have the computer cable or for most motorolo's the mini usb cable, it should work without a hitch

Changing an asset from non depreciating to depreciating

Good afternoon,
We have an asset which, when created, was non-operational and was created with depreciation key 000. We now need to change the depreciation to the key ZDEP (which is straight line depreciation) from 01.04.2009. Get error message "E662 SYST - you cannot change the depreciation periods"
We think that if we changed the day indicator against 000 to be the same as that against ZDEP it will correct the problem.
Is this the correct solution - if so then what are the implications of existing assets with key 000?
Have you any other solutions?

Hi,
Better way to handle these kind of issue is....
Create a new asset with ZDEP dep key.
And post a asset transfer transaction with ABUMN. (from old asset to new asset) on 01.04.2009.
then check the asset explorer for the new asset, after posting the transfer transaction.

Transfer posting from Non-WM manage plant to WM manage plant

Hi Guru,
I want to trasfer FG from storage location of Non-WM manage plant to storage bin of WM manage Plant. I did this posting with Movt type 301 , in destination section WM tab is activated for WM manage plant but after posting , its not generating TR no which is necessary for TO while posting material to bin. But material is showing in storage location of WM manage plant.
what to do in this situation? I want this finish goods be in destination bin of storage type.

As I understand in OMJJ WM fields are allowed for IM-mvt 301 and you define the storage type and bin when executing the goods movement in IM.
If the system directly posts the goods into the destination storge bin why do you need TR and TO?
If you do not want to post the goods directly into the storage bin (=you do not define the values for the WM-fields of mvt 301) then you have to check your settings in SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > IM > Define Movement Types.
Here you can set TR creation for the IM-mvt and then you can create TO by processing the TR from LB10.
You can find several threads how WM-IM interfaces should be maintained.

Trying to transfer files from non-bootable Mac, Target mode does't work... Any suggestions?

Hello I have a MacBook Pro laptop that doesn't boot and stops at the Apple logo in grey.
I ready about Target Mode and wen't bought a Firewire cable, connected to another MacBook Pro but the hard drive doesn't show up on the Go/Computer or the Disk Utility either.
Also I noticed that when the MacBook Pro is in Target mode it shows the Firewire logo jumping around the screen but to the left of it also is something that looks like electrical/power symbol, don't know if that matters. I tried to plug in the target computer to power and nothing changes, then tried to leave it unpluged from power and plug in the power to host but nothing happens. Both are almost full power on battery.
Basically I need a way to get the files off. Thanks.

I wish to transfer the bookmarks from my old Firefox 3.6/4.0 to my new Firefox 5.0, they are on two separate hdd in my computer. I cannot access my old installation as the OS (xp) is not working, so maybe I can copy the actual bookmark files, if only I could locate them. no profile or backup was ever made in the old Firefox so the help files appear to be useless to me as they only tell you how to us if you have a backup or profile

What you could probably try is temporarily installing FF3 and placing the bookmarks in the appropriate folder in your new OS (directory should be the same as Vista if the new OS is win 7), exporting as HTML, installing the new FF of your choice and import the HTML file there.

Is it possible to transfer photos from (non-iPhone) camera to iPad?

I need a backup for my Sony point-and-shoot while travelling, but don't want to lug my MBP along just to download photos to it. Is there any way (without Wi-Fi or internet connection) to connect my camera to the iPad and transfer photos?

There is the camera connection kit (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC531ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE&mco=MjE4ODE2ODk) which comes with an SD card reader and a USB to micro-usb cable for connection to a camera for direct transfer of photos (I have seen some people say that it doesn't work with their camera so I can't guarantee that it will work with yours).
As it's a Sony I assume that it uses sony memory stick and not SD cards ? Some people have been able to use other card readers with the kit, but generally only powered readers work with it (and then not all of them) as the iPad does not provide enough power to the kit for most non-powered ones to work. If the camera has a micro-usb socket then you should be able to use that for direct transfer.

Depreciation for transfer asset

I use ABUMN to transfer asset A (100%) to asset B.
And the APC value is 617.00 and accumulated depreciation is 37.02.
I use " percentage from useful life (0011) ".
but I find the system use APC amount to calculate the depreciation for the transfer year not including the adjustment value (37.02) ???
And therefore ,the monthly depreciation of asset B is not the same as that of asset A . why ???
Can we make the system calculate the depreciation for B according to APC and adjustment value ?

we find the depreciation amount will recalculate based on the depreciation parameter in new asset .
Therefore , we make all depreciation parameter including depreciation key , useful life, depreciation start date etc in new asset the same as those in old asset.
And then , the depreciation amount will be the same.
You can use path Financial Accounting>Asset Accounting>Transaction>Intercompany Asset Transfers>Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers>Define Transfer Variants>(Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd))
to transfer the depreciaiton parameter to new asset.

Transfer assets collectively to new class and create new assets like ABUMN

We need to change the account determination for a few Asset Classes that already have assets with postings. As a result we must create new asset classes and assign a new account determination.
Is there a program that would allow transfer assets collectively to a new asset class and create new assets automatically similar to ABUMN? T-code ABUMN allows you to transfer multiple assets but you must create the new assets first. ABUMN will transfer and create new asset but only does one asset at a time.
There are hundreds of assets with postings to be transferred from the old asset classes to the corresponding new asset classes.
Appreciate whatever input you can provide.

i want to transfer assets from cost center to store.
scenario is like this:-in dec 2010 we have taken the goods recipt of ABC capital material.after this we make assets belongs to this material, then asset is iisued to cost center from store.when the material goes to cost center abc material goes to depriciation of 10000 each month.now in july month we want to transfer back this asset to inventory(store) but cost of that inventory must be increased after depriciation.

Dear All,
Because of a correction, we want to transfer values from an Asset to an Asset Under Construction.
Is it possible to do this directly via transaction ABUMN (if yes, how?), or is there an other transaction to perform this correction posting?

The transfer from asset to AUC has to be done in the past (October 2006).
Depreciations have already been posted on this asset in the year 2006.
Do I understand you correctly? You want to reverse the original settlement of the AUC to the asset?
The problem is that the amount on the asset has its origin in an other AUC than the one the amount has to go to.
Besides that, no settlement has taken place. The amounts on the AUC are transfered with transaction ABUMN.
So no settlement from AUC to asset has taken place via transaction AIBU.

ABUMN: Transfer asset value to components (IFRS)

My client wanted to segregate assets as components and transfer amounts from main asset to sub assets through ABUMN, but these values should appear only in Dep area 75 (for IFRS purpose). Client also wanted to have
