Transfer Bridge to OLAP

Hi,
When i try to transfer a Collection to the olap server using warehouse bridge i get the following error:
**! Transfer logging started at Wed Jul 07 19:38:55 BRT 2004 !**
OWB Bridge processed arguments
**! Transfer logging stopped at Wed Jul 07 19:38:55 BRT 2004 !**
The DB is 9.2.0.5 and OWB is 10g
Thanks,
Marcos Freitas

Marcos,
Have you checked some of the stuff you can access through http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/selfserv_edu/OLAP_cube_creation.html?
Did you deploy your relational objects?
Could it be that you are not the only one logged on to the metadata repository? There is an outstanding bug that the bridge is single-user only, but there is no feedback that actually tells you that...
Thanks,
Mark.

Any ideas? This problem has been bugging for a few days.

Take a look at the troubleshooting doc on MetaLink for the OWB OLAP Bridge, however it is intended for version 9.0.4-9.2. You may want to upgrade OWB. More importantly, be sure to be running RDBMS 9.2.0.4 with the OLAP 9.2.0.4.1 patch (PS# 3084634).

  • Transfer Bridge slideshow to a DVD

How do you transfer your Bridge slideshow to a DVD

    In a nutshell, you can't. It's a long-standing request.
Meanwhile, there is Fotomagico <http://boinx.com/fotomagico/>, not cheap, but more bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at. And yes, you can set a slideshow to music and put that on a CD or another computer (without the source images) and it works great.
I just found Apimac on the web, no clue about the quality or if this can do what you want.
    Good luck,

  • Transfer Bridge images and data to new pc

I am using CS5.1 on Windows 7 pc.  Just purchased windows 8.1 pc.  CS5.1 PS and Bridge installed on new pc.  How do I get images over and keep Bridge collections and metadata?  Thanks for your help.

Image Metadata is in your image files.  Bridge keeps Image information in its caches. If missing bridge will build its cache.  If you use Adobe bridges distributed caching the bridges caches ares stored in two files in each of you image folders. ACR keeps you RAW file conversion settings in an ACR database or in ACR sidecar files which are stored in the same folders as your RAW files and perhaps bridges caches.  These settings are also stored in conversion image files metadata.

  • Transfer Preferences

Is there a way to transfer Bridge Preferences and Workspaces directly from CS4 to CS5?

when i ugraded from 4 to 5 all the keywords (structure) were imported automatically from 4.
not sure about the workspace's as i don't alter them too much from standard.
though i can confirm that favourtes and collections didn't transfer in bridge CS5.

    Mark,
The error indicates that the dimensions have not been deployed to the database prior to running of the OLAP bridge. You must deploy dependent dimensions using OWB Deployment Manager first.
For future reference, there is a "Troubleshooting OWB OLAP Integration" document on Metalink:

  • How can I transfer the meta data to the Oracle OLAP Object?

When I finished in building a simple DataWare house demo in the warehouse Builder, I got meta data. But it seems that those doesn't present in the "<Database>" - "OLAP" - "Dimension" where the Sample "SH" resides.I just want to export those metadata to the SQL script, but failing to import the script to the Database. How can I transfer my demo's meta data to the OLAP Object? It is the last step to finish the whole process and I can't solve the problem.
I'll appreciate any one who can help me.

    Hello,
To enter/move the metadata for dimensions and facts to the OLAP catalog, you need to perform the following actions:
    1) Create a business area in the OWB business tree holding the dimensions and facts you want in OLAP
    2) Perform a metadata export, using the bridge (not to file!)
    3) This will launch a wizard that will guide you through this process, follow the instructions carefully
    4) Upon completion you will see metadata added into the OLAP catalog
We will be releasing a new version for this, which will be running on 9.2.0.2 database that allows you to use all the new 9i Release 2 OLAP features. This will create Analytic Workspaces from Warehouse Builder and should be released late this year (around end of November).
    Hope this helps,
    Jean-Pierre

  • OLAP Bridge export

I keep getting the following error message when I try to create the AW, OLAP export file.

Am I doing the export right? We want to take advantage of OWB and the OLAP feature. I'm using OWB 10g.

From the log you mention it is difficult to understand what is the problem. Are you getting some additional error messages? And, most importantly ... what version of OWB/DB are you using?

  • How do I transfer images from external harddrive with Bridge settings to new computer?

I used to use Adobe Bridge on a computer that stopped working. My computer tech then made the harddrive out of that computer to an external harddrive. Now I want to transfer all those images with all the settings I have a applied to them, to my new computer. My new computer is a PC with Windows 7 and I run Adobe Creative Cloud on it.

Thanks for your answer. Where is the xmp file located?
That depends on your preference settings. By default Bridge is set to store metadata as a sidecar XMP file. This is the file that has the same filename as its original but it only uses the ".xmp" extension instead of the Raw file extension.
Bridge stores this file in the same folder as the original. If you use Bridge to move files to other location it automatically selects the xmp files to travel with it.
If you use the menu view / show hidden files you will see what Curt meant by XMP being hidden files, the all have a document icon.
If you have converted the RAW to DNG this data is written in the file itself as is the case with other filetypes like jpeg and tiff that can be handled by ACR.
You should be able to copy the whole folder to your new system or point Bridge to the old disk, select the files you want in the content panel and use the folder panel to navigate to the new location and use drag and drop
    Plenty of options

  • How do I transfer photos from aperture and iPhoto to bridge?

How do I transfer photos from Aperture and iPhoto to Adobe Bridge.  I am using Photoshop CS6.  Many of my original photos were stored as raw files.

Here's how to access Mac iPhoto images for use in Photoshop
and so that they may be viewed by choosing that folder in Bridge..
    1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name} > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
    2. Control-click (Right-click) the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
    3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
    4. Control-click (Right-click) the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
5, Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
    6. Open images in Photoshop from file on desktop or view them in Bridge.
7  Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired.

  • Problem with JPGs Downlaoded with Nikon Transfer - Can't Apply Develop Settings in Bridge CS4 and ACR 5.3 Settings Don't Stick

I have found what I believe is a "problem" with JPGs downloaded using Nikon Transfer (ver 1.4.1) and processing same in Adobe Bridge CS4 (Develop Settings) and/or Adobe Camera Raw 5.3 (Photoshop CS4 and Elements 6 as hosts).
Anyone using these programs in their workflow?
The problem, quite simply, is that neither ACR settings (nor Bridge CS4 Develop Settings) "stick" when applied to JPGs that have been downloaded via Nikon Transfer ver 1.4.1.
The same images from the same cameras (D300 and D90), downloaded moments later using Nikon's predecessor software PictureProject work just fine in both Bridge and ACR.  Develop Settings appled in Bridge immediately are seen, and JPGs opened in ACR, and settings applied, then "Done" immediately stick and are reflected in Bridge.
If someone else is processing their JPGs in this manner, please let me know, as I have reported the problem to both Nikon and Adobe, and although I have tested it on two different cameras and two differnt laptops, I would like to get an impartial result as well.
One other test, the problem does not seem to affect Nikon's RAW (NEF) format files downloaded from a D2x using Nikon Transfer.  More/different test are forthcoming.
    Thanks
    jeff

Can't say one way or another on that statement about using manufacturers' software.  Since Adobe has to interpret each camera models' RAW format having the latest ACR seems to be the best option.  But if the manufacturers' software is more convenient, and you get the same results then use it.  But it does appear you are not getting what you want, so suggest you try a duplicate test run with images straight from the card reader to Bridge and see if you still have same problems.
I do know it is widely recommended that using a quality card reader gives you more reliable data than getting the pictures straight from the camera.  Does not seem intuitive, but that has been experience of many.

  • CS4 - how to transfer photos in bridge to new laptop (CS4 has been installed)

Purchased a new laptop (pc).  The technician told me to deactivate CS4 on my old laptop before activating it on my new laptop.  Did so.  I asked that all my raw photos located in bridge be transferred over to my new laptop.  It appears this did not take place.  Maybe I can do this myself?

Your Raw files are in the directory you kept them. Bridge does not assign directories.
So do a simple .nef search (or whatever raw format you use) to locate and transfer your raw files over.
You can place them in any directory.
If you have keywords, you can also export those to your new Bridge. Bride has no activation so it should work on the old setup.
Go into the keywords panel, select export and use a thumb drive to move the .txt keyword file over to your new PC and them Import in the Keyword Panel menu.

  • I have a Mac computer and I edited my images in the Finder Pictures. I hit the enter button by mistake.  Now I want to transfer the images to Bridge.

I have a Mac computer and I edited my images in the Finder Pictures. Now. I want to transfer the edited images to Bridge.

Bridge is just a file browser.  It does not contain any photos inside the application itself.  Bridge will see and display your photos wherever you put them.
You cannot "transfer the edited images to Bridge".  That is wholly nonsensical.  Just use Bridge to navigate to your image files, wherever you put them.

  • How to Transfer Colletions from Bridge CS5 to Bridge CS6?

How to Transfer collections from Bridge in CS5 to CS6?  I tried to copy my collections to the new Bridge but for some reason I do not see an option.  I tried putting on Keywords on my collections so that I can pull them up again but for some reason it won't write keywords anymore?  What is the best approach to transfer collections.  Thanks.  KC

What is the best approach to transfer collections.  Thanks.  KC
On a Mac both the keyword file and collections are stored in the user library (by default hidden in OSX lion) in the user account.
    The path on Mac:
user / library / Application Support / Adobe. Inhere you should see both Bridge CS5 and bridge CS6 if you have upgraded while the older system is still on your system.
In Bridge CS5 you see several folders and files. The keyword file that has all your in CS5 created keywords is called 'Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml' and the folder called Collections should have all your saved collections in it.
You can copy the keyword file to the same location in CS6 and also the content of the collections folder can be copied to the CS6 folder.
After restarting Bridge CS6 they should reflect the correct collections and keywords.
Don't know the path on Windows but it might be similar.
