Transfer Broadband Email Account to Premium Mail

I am in the process of separating from my partner and we wish to separate our email accounts.
We wish to retain the broadband service but move the primary email account and one of the secondary accounts to Premium Mail.
Does anyone know how to make this happen? The call centre person that I spoke to said that it could’t be done without cancelling the broadband service but other posts seem to indicate that it is possible.
Can anyone help?

Thanks for posting. If the primary ermail account is staying attached to the broadband then there wouldn't be any need to change that and we can change the sub account to premium mail. If the sub account is staying connected to the broadband it will need to be upgraded as the primary account and then the old primary account can be changed to premium mail. I hope that makes sense. Do you have your system backed up to Time Machine? If so, you can open your user Library and copy your Mail folder from Time Machine to your Desktop on your new machine; then copy THAT folder to your new machine's user Library.
To get to your user Library, open Finder and Go and press the Option key. Library will show up. Click on it to get into your user Library. Now go into Time Machine and you should see your user Library for Time Machine. Restore the Mail folder to your Desktop.

I HAD two accounts because of this problem. I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client. Guess what is happening?? That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening. This is incredibly frustrating. When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system. COME ON APPLE!!! Yes it is possible to set up multiple accounts but you cannot switch between them in the mail app. What you can do in settings/mail etc is have one set as active an dthe other as inactive and you can change that from time to time if you want

Multiple Email Accounts using MS Mail

I want to setup multiple email accounts using MS mail. My already has an account, but I want to add an account for my son. I've added the account on verizon and in MS mail. However, I want to have completly separate accounts so that when my son opens his email he only see his email and when my wife opens her email, she only sees her email. Right now, when MS mail is opened both their emails come up and when they send an email, they must select which email account they are sending from.
Does anyone know how to do this?

One option would be to not use MS Mail (I assume you really mean Windows Live Mail?). You could create accounts for them and have them just use the Web mail interface to get to their mail.
Another option would be to give each person their own "user account" on your machine instead of all logging into the computer as the same userid. If you do this, any mail settings will remain with the individual account.

Can I set up an email account in mac mail if it already exists in mac outlook or do I need to delete the outlook account first? I have tried to set it up and its not working.

Mail and Outlook are two different applications, so you can maintain the same account in both, incl sending and receiving.
What matters is that the setup is correct. E.g., is it a POP3 or IMAP account? By default, IMAP stores all mails on the (ISP's) server, while POP3 usually deletes it there after it's been received. So, with IMAP you'd easily have your mails everywhere, in every client, while with POP3 it's only in the client which you used most recently, so to speak.

The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.

For some reason, after my upgrade to Yosemite my default accounts are no longer selected as default. I am now sending from an account I only receive email to, and have to change it with every single email I compose. Mavericks didn't do this.

I just got my iPhone an tried to sync with my Mail accounts but only a very old POP mail account (no longer in use) showed up on my iPhone. I checked on my computer and none of my current POP email accounts from Mail show up in ~/Library/Mail folder. Yet all my email accounts are working fine. I've done a Finder search for my current email accounts and weirdly they don't show up anywhere else. I checked in the Hard Drive and in my Home Folder. Can anyone suggest a way to get my email accounts to show up in ~/Library/Mail so I can sync to my iPhone without doing it manually? Thanks!

If you're not using IMAP, Mail is still communicating with the mail server, so even if you see those types of messages, nothing abnormal is going on. There's no such thing as invisible email, so if there were really anything being sent or downloaded, you'd see it.

I am having trouble setting up my email accounts with the osX mail application. I have two accounts, an outlook and my college email through google. When I try to add the outlook account the prompt says that it cannot connect to the server and when I try my college mail i get the following prompt.
"Trying to log in to the Exchange server “autodiscover-s.outlook.com” failed. Make sure the email address and password you entered are correct, then click Continue."
Please note that my college account is run by gmail and ends in murraystate.edu

okay for your college email. Heres what you do.
Try adding your email and wait for the message to come up
Trying to log in to the Exchange server “autodiscover-s.outlook.com” failed. Make sure the email address and password you entered are correct, then click Continue."
Once it does, you will notice 2 extra boxes One says username and the other password. You will notice that the username will not have @murraystate.edu
Add this and continue and this should now be added as an email account and should be able to receive emails as normal.
For your outlook emails, I would recommend using the following article to set it up. It is fairly straightforward.
