Transfer BT Yahoo premium email address

I am looking to transfer from my current BB supplier to BT Broadband. I currently have a Premium BT Yahoo @btinternet/@btopenworld email address that I would like to keep but not have to pay the extra £1.50 a month for.
Is there anything special I need to do to transfer this email? Do I have to do it before or after migrating my broadband.
Also when in my BT Yahoo email account online, I have problems trying to access my account/billing information. I can login to read email but not get any further.
Any ideas?

Hi  jayemm,
What Geoff has said is correct.
You can transfer the email address over to your new BT BB account once it becomes active.
Either send an email to the Moderators on the Forum: [email protected] or contact Premium Mail on 0808 100 6778 Option 3 and just tell them that you want to transfer the account that you're currently paying for onto your new BT BB account. They'll transfer it over and stop the Billing for it straight away!
In terms of your Account/Billing information on http://bt.yahoo.com, what exactly is happening?
In order for you to View the Account Info, you should just click on My Account at the top right hand corner of the screen when you first log-in and then click on the "My Account & Billing tab at the top of the screen. Once you click this, it should ask for your password again, but you should see the info you want then. Perhaps this isn't available to you becuae your not a BT BB customer yet?
Let me know?
Cheers

How do I transfer contact numbers and email address from my Mac to my new iphone?

Connect your iPhone 4S to your Mac using the iPhone’s USB cable, and then use iTunes to transfer your contacts from to the iPhone. (An alternate way is to use iCloud.)
I’m not sure what you mean by “transferring email address” from the Mac to the iPhone. But if you mean you want to access your email from the Mac and the iPhone, the best way is to configure your email account over IMAP in Mail on both devices.

  • Yahoo Premium Email

I have recently left BT Broadband. As of now, my phone line is still with BT - it switches next week. I want to keep my btinternet email address - simple, you'd think. I know about Premium mail and am happy to pay £1.54 a month for it. BUT... Will the site sign me up? It will not. I get 'problems with the account', 'page not found' etc. etc. The help pages send me all round the houses. Can some kind soul let me know if the problem is with the service, or with me, and who to contact. I really do not want to lose this address (although I know I have 90 days grace).

Here is some help from a forum member.
Moving from BT e-mail to Premium Mail   -  by forum member alcook101
Following moving from BT Broadband to another supplier I wanted to keep my btinternet email addresss.
Having just wasted a lot of time trying to get this sorted out, this how I got it sorted out.
    THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT WORK:
    1) The BT website options do not work. The web page is not set up for chrome. When using internet explorer it just came up with "problem with account" when I tried to log in.
    2) Ringing 0800-633-5335 - option 3 - the operator (David) did not really know what he was doing and I got nowhere. In the usual BT way was very polite and the same time completely unhelpful.
    THE FOLLOWING WORKED:
In the end I rang 0800-633-5335 option 2. I got through to someone called "Sid".
He eventually took my mobile number and rang through to another department to "downgrade" my email. This is a requirement of BT before upgrading to BT Premium email.
Sid rang me back and said it was all sorted and that the charge was £ 1.54 per month. Therefore my emails and the email address would be preserved.
He said there was a fault with the system in which a password change would be asked for. He said to ignore this - for this situation password change is not required.
Sid then said that billing would be separate and could not be included on a BT bill. Therefore bank details were required.
This didn't sound too good, however I didn't have much choice.
When logging into my email I then got this message:
    Service Change
    Thank you for changing services.
With this service change, you will be receiving the following level of service:
    PRODUCT LEVEL OF SERVICE
Mailbox Storage Unlimited primary, Unlimited sub
    Photo Storage Unlimited
    Number of Sub Accounts
    10

  • My ten AT&T/Yahoo! email addresses slowly stopped working ...

All were set up as IMAP accounts and all addresses are of the @sbcglobal.net type.  Even though I could log into the same accounts via the web using Safari, and all passwords are stored in my Keychain, the Mail app was rendered useless by popdowns continually asking for the email account passwords.  Strangely, the popdowns actually contained ************ for the passwords but I still had to press OK for each popdown.  At first it was just a couple of the addresses, but then eventually all of them became useless.  Unfortunately, the popdown sequence repeated over and over.  Only after I clicked on Cancel on each popdown was I eventually able to access Mail Preferences to turn OFF the addresses.
AT&T/U-Verse uses Yahoo!'s email servers.  I talked with the AT&T/U-Verse Help Desk and they sent instructions to review ... none of which worked.  They said that the latest AT&T/Yahoo! addresses for receiving and sending email messages are inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net, respectively.  But I couldn't get these to work no how.  So I created 10 new email accounts as POPs to replace the IMAPs and the new I/O addresses still would not work.
After MUCH experimentation I hit on a combination that sort of works for each address using Apple Mail:  IN - pop.mail.yahoo.com and OUT - smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com.  I received a warning that that OUT address is not SSL compliant but I'm forced to use it until some improvement comes along.
I really would rather go back to using IMAP because it's newer and offers more security features ... but that will not work for me at this time.
Has anyone else experienced AT&T/Yahoo! IMAP email breakdowns?  Does anyone know if AT&T and/or Yahoo! are mucking around with their email arrangements?
I've received email messages from AT&T/U-Verse that email changes are coming in mid June 2013 ... but that's a month away.
[I'm running Mountain Lion 10.8.3 which was not available in the product choice below]

It's been reported a few times that passwords with upper-case letters are being rejected by the Yahoo mail servers.

  • Using a personal email address with Yahoo Mail

I have a premium Yahoo Mail account which allows me to receive mail from an external account (one with an address that does not end in yahoo.com) and send mail as that account as well (so my recipients never see a yahoo.com email address or otherwise know I use yahoo mail).
When I set up the account on my iPhone, I can browse and read my mail fine, but I can't figure out how to send mail using my preferred address. All my outgoing mail from the iPhone has the yahoo.com address. I can't find a place to put my preferred address - if I put it into the address field, then the Mail client can no longer sign in to Yahoo Mail because this is also my account name with Yahoo.
What I need is a place to indicate an email address for new messages which is different than the account name, but I can't find it.
Is this possible to do? How should I set it up?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    It is not possible.

  • I want to correct my email address for yahoo mail

Yahoo mail email address is incorrect...how do I change it???

The instructions to do so are provided in the article you asked this question from, but require correctly answering two of the security questions. If you can't do that, you need to ask Apple to reset the questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • Keeping my BT Yahoo Premium Mail Account, I am hav...

I cancelled my BT Broadband Option 3 subscription around Nov 20th 2011 and I discovered on the internet that my BT Yahoo Premium mail would be terminated 90 days after my BT Broadband was cancelled, I've had my bt email account for around 10 years so I don't want to lose it.
I've been running around in circles trying to get the £1.54 monthly charge setup so that I can keep my exisiting BT Yahoo email account all have lead to a dead end .. could you please help me .....
Here are some problems listed below that I've encountered:-
    1) I navigate to the following BT website link where it advertises to 'keep my email' account for bt yahoo premium for £1.54 / month, I enter my email account and it states "there is a problem with the status of your account" and doesn't allow me to progress further with the upgrade. Here is the link...
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=26508&s_cid=con_FURL_...
I still have a bt.com/btyaoo account and a BT landline and I can setill see broadband being billed for Nov 2011 so I don't understand why it will not allow me to upgrade here on the link above.
    2) I was advised by BT operatives to go to the following alternative BT web page to upgrade to BT Yahoo premium mail and most of you will be more familiar with this one... however it only allows the user to generate a NEW BT Yahoo email address NOT KEEP your EXISTING email address despite the link advertising that you can keep it..... after entering my bank account details and I enter my btopenworld email account the web page stops with an error stating that my BT Yahoo email adress is 'already taken': here is the link, also there is a link from my http://home.bt.yahoo.com/  'my account' page to the very same link stated below... the link is named 'Upgrade To Premium Mail' which is very deceptive as it is not an upgrade of your exisiting email account its an entirely new email address that it allows you to create only and this is no good. Here is the link .. with the premium link right at the bottom...
    https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/registernow?version=ie5&ex=1&product_type=PMR
    3) I was advised by a BT operator to contact the BT Yaho premium mail team on the phone (I have a BT phone landline btw) and I called 0808 100 6778 Option 2 (email) Option (1 Change email) on a Sunday at 11am and all I got was the following message then the line cut off, the team should have been there as the message stated but the help service team was not available which is perplexing .. here is the message is this service dead ?
"Welcome to BT our advisors are available from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 6:30pm Saturday to Sunday"
     Not true...
I remember calling the yahoo premium email team around the 20th Nov 2011 (about a month ago) and they told me that I would receive an email warning me that my BT Yahoo email account would be cancelled in 90 days with an option to upgrade to premium... this email has not been received (I even checked bt yahoo spam folder) hence why I am getting worried about not being able to renew my BT Yahoo Email Account.
    4) I called up other BT Broadband and technical numbers but they can detect from my BT landline that I no longer have BT Broadband so those numbers are not availale to me for help.
In summary it seems that you do have a service to upgrade to BT Yahoo Premium Email for BT users who have left BT Broadband but it is EXTREMELY difficualy to obtain to customers who are willing to pay for this service. Can anyone out there please help me. If I lose the email account it is a very serious matter to me as I have had it around 10+ years.

I'm moving from BT Broadband. I'm wanting to keep the email address and have found that going here...
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12682/~/what's-the-difference-between-bt-yahoo!-premi...
and then clicking on www.bt.com/premiummail gets you:
Sorry, this page is currently unavailable
The tip (as stated above) about phoning the number above worked well.
I was told by the support person there is a 90 day grace period after the end of the BT Broadband and an email will come through on about day 86. The guy on the phone said ring the same number again then to upgrade to subscribe to the service.
If there is a department in BT that looks at things that don't work on their website it might be worth fixing this.

  • Premium email account payment

Prior to taking out BT Total broadband I purchased a BT premium email account and pay this by monthly direct debit. I now have had total broadband for about 5 years was was never informed that the Premium email account was free with total broadband and the monthly direct debt has continued. Could I have help in making contact with the person who deals with this at BT so that I can be reassured that I can cancel my direct debit and still retain by premium email address.

You should now have a new bt.internet email address as a user name for your BB service, and there's no guarantee that BT will be able to change it to your old address. It's more likely that you can get your old address added to your new BT Yahoo! email account as a sub-account. Either way, you will need to contact BT, and Live Chat may be the best place to start particularly as you can keep a copy of the conversation.
If you hit a brick wall there, please come back here as further advice may be available.

  • Problem transferring email addresses to IPhone 4

IPhone 4 new user - can not get Yahoo & Google email addresses transferred to IPhone from Macbook

When I purchased the IPhone the AT&T folks copied the phone numbers from the sim card to the contacts folder on the IPhone, I can access both Gmail and Yahoo mail fine, but when I attempt to send email I cannot access my email addresses that I have set up for both Gmail and Yahoo - I can type in the email addresses and send or reply to email and send - both work fine - the problem is in accessing the email contact lists with email addresses - my cell phone contacts were some of the same names but no email addresses.  I went to ITunes and went through the sync procedure but none of the IPhones settings panes described in the IPhone User Guide showed up -  ITunes gave several messages indicating step 1 was complete, then step 2  and after one or two more similar messages stated the syncing was complete.  Not sure what to do at this point.

  • Can't Update Apps After Changing Email Address

Recently, I changed my Apple ID from my Yahoo! Email to MobileMe. Now every time I try to update my Apps in iTunes or the Mac App Store, I can't update the ones that I bought when I used my Yahoo! Email address. I can still download the updates if I sign in with my Yahoo! account, but that gets annoying.

To answer you Oh yes I waited.... in fact almost 3 hours and it should not take that long..... I actually ended up restoring it and starting all over again. Seemed to work! We will see....

  • Nokia X6 - Can't Set Up Email Address

    Hi folks,
I'm trying to set up my yahoo mail email address using the email wizard.
I am going in via the messaging section, i'm asked to define the mailbox which I do by using the email wizard, select yahoo mail and add my email address, click ok and every single time it just keeps coming back as "unable to connect to server.  Try again later"
I can get on internet, OVI store, call, text and use WLAN but this just keeps coming up the same.
Is there any way to rectify this or is there some other way I can set up a few email addresses (I tryed my google one too and got the same response)
    Help please!
    Thanks

    @phoneboy1962
after starting Set up e-mail , have u been asked to select the connection
if so u can select the connection type which is configured in u r phone given by the network operator.
and then proceed as instructed by the phone menu.
if not you may get the settings from the network operator and configure u r phone accordingly and again try,

  • IMessage doesn't recognize email addresses

    Hello,
I'm having trouble sending iMessage messages to my contacts.  Their email addresses aren't read as the ones registered to iMessage even if they are the Apple IDs.
I need to wait for someone to initiate an iMessage conversation before I can write them.  Please help.  Thanks

    Thanks, ckuan.
Actually, I noticed that my gmail contacts register as imessage-able.  I verified with my Yahoo! contacts and they say theyre using the correct yahoo! email address for their imessage.  Does it take longer for Yahoo! to be verified as an iMessage device?

  • Unknown email address

Hi, not sure if this is the right place but I have never used my BT Yahoo! email address and I don't even know what it is. But it turns out I need it to use BT Wifi  (you would have thought it would use my bt.com details but hey ho!)
Anyway, I really can't stand call centers or talking on the phone all together so is there any BT staff who can tell me my address? If so what details do you need from me?
    Thanks in advance.

When you first signed up for your BT broadband you would have been given a BT email address and password.

  • Moving email addresses to new Bt account

My current broadband package from BT is in my husband's name and as far as I understand the only way to change it into my name is to shut the account and start again as there seems to be no way to simply transfer names without him dying.
My question is therefore, if we were to do this would it be possible to transfer some of the email addresses associated with his account over to the new account? Ie. can I keep the email addresses for myself and children?
