Transfer configs in ECC 6.0 TRAINING MASTER Client to ECC EHP4

Hi all,
Good day!
I would like to seek your expert opinions on my situation below:
This is my scenario:
I have an existing ECC 6.0 IDES system and we are planning to build a new ECC EhP4 IDES in a new server.
ECC 6.0 has the following:
- Training Master Client (this has all the configurations necessary to conduct trainings)
EhP4
- New Traininig Master Client
Basically, we want to copy all the configs in ECC6.0 Training Master client to the new Training Master Client in EhP4.
Is there any way to do this?
Also, we want to copy all the user accounts from ECC6.0 to EhP4. How can we achieve this?
Would really appreciate your inputs on these,
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Cha cha.

Hi!
I am assuming you are referring to the configs.. How about the data (test data, transactional data, etc)? Is there no way to transfer them to the new server?
How about the user master data? Basically, we just want to copy the users. As for the roles, we are planning to create new ones..
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Regards,
Cha cha

  • Wire transfer config

    Hi Friends,
We have a problem with Wire transfer config. we usually send our bank files to the middle vendor who does the interfacing with Bank. We have Check and ACH working fine so far. Now we are planning to put in wire transfer where in it needs to process international payments as well.  So now we need to do the config in such a way that it gets the vendor bank information (Middle company has a standard form so it needs those fields to be filled like IBN, Bank information, ID type etc) which it can pick up during Payment run. I am not sure how we can force these. vendor master has only limited amount of information which we can populate. Is there something we can do.

Yes you are in the right direction.  Intermediary bank and chain banks are the same terms used interchangably.  Chain bank is nothing but your intermediary bank which will finally pay to your final vendor bank. In order to establish the connection, you specify which bank chain is to apply for a given customer or vendor.  See the steps below to define bank chains.  If you have only have three or four vendors, I would suggest you to ask your developer to create a ztable to maintain intermediary banks. The ztable will have your vendor number, company code, currency etc according to bank's specifications. Your abaper will add a logic to the payment program that you are using to print DME file and the print DME file specification. The logic is based on the combination of house bank, vendor, then print the intermediary bank in DME.
    Prerequisites
You have already defined the master data for the customer or vendor.
    Procedure
    1.     On the SAP R/3 screen, choose Accounting  Financial accounting  Banking.
The system now displays the Banking screen.
    2.     Choose Master data  Bank chain  Business partners  Edit.
    3.     Enter the customer or vendor account number and select the indicator for the payment direction (incoming or outgoing payment). If necessary, enter the appropriate data in the parameters Company code, House bank, Account, Currency, and Payment method supplement. Choose Execute.
The system displays a list of partner banks.
In the Vendor field, enter KRED1 and select Outgoing payment.
    4.     Choose the required bank. If a bank chain did not already exist, the system displays a message alerting you to this fact.
The system displays the Bank Chain per Business Partner Account screen.
    5.     Choose Edit  New Entries and enter the desired specification for the bank chain. Bank chains are specified per Currency and (if necessary) also per Sender bank country, Sender bank key and Payment method supplement.
Enter DEM in the Currency field.
    6.     Choose Bank chain per business partner account, followed by Edit  New entries and enter the required bank chain by specifying the:
    Bank number
Bank category (correspondence bank of the sender, intermediary bank, senderu2019s correspondence bank)
    Country
    Bank key
Bank account of the correspondence or intermediary bank
    No. 1
    Cat 2 (intermediary bank)
    Corr.Ctry
    (Country of correspondence bank) DE
    Corr.Bank key.
(Bank key of correspondence bank) 111222
    Bank account GIRO
    7.     Save your entries.
    Result
You have now created a bank chain for a customer or vendor partner bank for outgoing or incoming payments.

  • Transfer Config between Different Boxes

    Hi,
We need to transfer complete configuration from one SAP Client (Development client) to another and both the clients are in different boxes (Server) in order to bring configuration in both the boxes in sync.
Kindly suggest the best practice and the process to be followed.
    Regards,
    Ghanapriya

We can transfer config between systems by migrating table data. We need to identify all tables to be migrated to other systems and upload them in destination system. Basis team will be the best contact to migrate standard tables data.
    Thanks.

  • Problems when trying to transfer location from ECC to APO

    Hello,
I am trying to transfer some locations from ECC to APO via CIF, but a system error appears: "Message no. SR053, data error for the location address 1000". For this reason I have not been able to transfer any location to APO. Could anybody tell what could the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    David

    Hello Tiemin,
Thanks for your answer. Based on your answer we changed some settings and now we are able to transfer locations from ECC to APO, but the error message is still showing, so even tough the error is not stopping the transfer now, we are not able to find what could be the problem.  Any more ideas about what we need to check?
    Thanks againg for you help.

  • Campaign transfer to the ECC

    Hi Gurus,
I am new to the CRM, I would like to know the purpose of transfer campaigns to ECC?
What are various scenarios where we have to transfer the campaigns to ECC?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Devi,
CRM product dont have any provision to manage financials, and hence has to depend on any Third party or SAP R/3 solution.
In SAP R/3 there is a module called as PS (Project Systems) wherein various projects can be tracked (For example, Trade show, Building Construction etc), and it can be linked to Revenues and Cost specific to the project.
CRM Campaigns when are transfered to R/3 would be reflected as PS elements.
And hence in future all the Sales done would be posted as Revenue to this PS and all the expenditures done to run the campaign (e.g. Advertisement etc) would be posted as Cost to this PS element.
And hence, efficiency of the campaign can be easily known.

  • Transfer config from from one ASA to another

    Hello,
    can you help me,
What is the best way to transfer config from ASA (5520 )8.4 to ASA (5512) 9.0?
    Thanks in advance

I can agree with that, if the configuration is small.
If it's larger, one issue with that suggestion is that you leave yourself susceptible to connection interrupts while copying the configuration to the new firewall. If there's an interruption, your ASA won't have its full configuration and could give you problems. It's a pretty rare occurence but I've seen it happen.
Something better (in my opinion) than TFTP would be just using HTTPS via ASDM, as it's less of a hassle generally.
    1. copy the running-config to a file on local flash in the old ASA "copy run flash:/config.txt"
    2. grab the configuration file via HTTPS in ASDM (file browser)
    3. upload the new file to the new ASA via HTTPS/ASDM. You'll need to configure basic connectivity for this of course.
    4. in CLI on the new ASA, copy the file to the running-config then save to NVRAM "copy flash:/config.txt run"

  • Difference between Golden Client and Master Client

    Dear,
What is the Difference between Golden Client and Master Client?
    Thanx & Regards,
    Mohammad Nabi,
    [email protected]

Golden Client is similar or is the the same as Development Client, which should not be used for testing.
    Master Client ???
    Note on SAP Landscape:
Landscape is like a server system or like a layout of the servers or some may even call it the architecture of the server’s viz. SAP is divided into three different landscape DEV, QAS and PROD.
    -  DEV would have multiple clients for ex: 190- Sandbox, 100- Golden, 180- Unit Test.
    -  QAS may again have multiple clients for ex: 300- Integration Test, 700 to 710 Training.
    -  PROD may have something like a 200 Production.
These names and numbers are the implementer's discreet on how they want it or they have been using in their previous implementations or how is the client's business scenario.
Now whatever you do in the Sandbox doesn't affect the other servers or clients. Whenever you think you are satisfied with your configuration and you think you can use it moving forward, you RE-DO it in the golden client (remember, this is a very neat and clean client and you cannot use it for rough usage). As you re-do everything that you had thought was important and usable, you get a transport request pop up upon saving every time. You save it under a transport request and give your description to it. Thus the configuration is transported to the Unit Test client (180 in this example).
You don't run any transaction or even use the SAP Easy Access screen on the 100 (golden) client. This is a configuration only client. Now upon a successful transport by the Basis guy, you have all the configuration in the Testing client, just as it is in the Golden client. The configuration remains in sync between these two clients.
But in the Testing client you can not even access SPRO  (Display IMG) screen. It's a transaction only client where you perform the unit test. Upon a satisfactory unit test, you move the good configuration to the next SERVER (DEV). The incorrect or unsatisfactory configuration is corrected in Golden (may again as well be practised in the sandbox prior to Golden) and accordingly transported back to 180 (Unit Test) until the unit test affected by that particular config is satisfactory.
The Golden client remains the 'database' (if you wanna call it that) or you may rather call it the 'ultimate' reference client for all the good, complete and final configuration that is being used in the implementation.
    In summary:
Landscape : is the arrangement for the servers
IDES : is purely for education purpose and is NOT INCLUDED in the landscape.
    DEVELOPMENT ---> QUALITY -
    > PRODUCTION
DEVELOPMENT : is where the the consultants do the customization as per the company's requirement.
QUALITY : is where the core team members and other members test the customization.
PRODUCTION : is where the live data of the company is recorded.
A request will flow from Dev->Qual->Prod and not backwards.
    1. Sandbox server: In the initial stages of any implementation project, You are given a sandbox server where you do all the configuration/customization as per the companies business process.
    2. Development Server: - Once the BBP gets signed off, the configuration is done is development server and saved in workbench requests, to be transported to Production server.
    3. Production Server: This is the last/ most refined client where the user will work after project GO LIVE. Any changes/ new development is done is development client and the request is transported to production.
These three are landscape of any Company. They organized their office in these three way. Developer develops the program in Development server and then transport it to test server. In testing server tester check/test the program and then transport it to Production Server. Later it will deploy to client from production server.
Presentaion Server- Where SAP GUI has.
Application Server - Where SAP Installed.
Database Server - Where Database installed.

  • How to refresh training system/client

    Hi Experts,
I have a ECC6.0 IDES which is used for training purposes. Now the database(/oracle file system) is approaching 100%.
Can anyone let me know how can I refresh the system ( by scheduling any background job? not sure).
Actually the client 001 is to be refreshed.Because training runs on 001 client.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Moulinath Ray

if you use 001 as the trainig client, then you alter the data in this client, so you cannot use it as a master client.
The 8xx clients are preconfigured IDES-clients and i wouldn't use them as training clients.
You should configure a client (e.g. 001) according to your needs and then create a new client. You can logon to this new client with user/pw sap*/pass (if the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set correctly, if not adjust and activate the profile and restart your system). Then you can do a client copy from 001 to the new client. When the training is done, just copy 001 again to the new client, so the trainers have a fresh training client.
If you want to remove the client you can use tcode SCC5. I wouldn't delete the data on database level

  • How can i transfer more than one file from server to client

    Hi,
our requirement is transfer more than one files from server to client using the
webutil_file_transfer.as_to_client_with_progress.One file transfer is already working in our system. If anybody know the solution please inform
    regards
    mat

    just an idea ...
for this purpose let us put aside security concerns and other potential problems....
-- Get the content of a server directory with Filter and create zip file
    1) create a class that implements java.io.FilenameFilter ...
    2) define accept() method ...
    3) call File.list() with the filter as a parameter. The returned array of strings will have all the names that passed through the accept() filter
    4) use java.util.Zip to create ZIP file on the server side
-- I think it is better to create this functionality as a separate Java class, put it in required folder and after it
-- use Forms->Program->"Import Java class" to create pl/sql wrappers, than to create wrappers for all classes and code in pl/sql
    5) use webutil to transfer file on the client
    6) use Java on client side to unzip transferred file
if you think this is not too complicated, you should try ...

  • SAP Installation in Cluster for ECC Ehp4 SR1 in one cluster

    Dear Experts,
Platform is Windows 2008, SQl Server 2008, ECC Ehp4 SR1
In our project, we are implementing ECC 6.0 Ehp4 SR1. Prior to this release, we use to have ABAP & JAVA (dual) stack in single installation. But going through installation guides and posts in SDN understood that now ABAP and JAVA has to be installed separately with different SID.
We have installed development system with separate SID for ABAP stack and java stack in the same box. Similarly, we did it for quality system also.
Now, we need to install the production system which will be in cluster. Earlier we have done cluster installation for ABAP & JAVA stack which would come in same cluster only. But now, since ABAP and JAVA have to be installed with separate SID, can I install both ABAP and JAVA stack in same cluster with two nodes or do we need to have separate cluster for ABAP and JAVA. As of now, we only have two nodes available. If we need to go with separate cluster for ABAP and JAVA we need to get two additional nodes.
So, let me know whether we can use existing two nodes and create a cluster and install ABAP and JAVA with different SID's on it. I have gone through the installation guide and could understand that it can be done. Hence let me know, whether I can go with single cluster. If so, then would be the advantages and disadvantages.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sharath

    Hi Sharath Babu,
The ASCS & SCS instance must be installed and configured to run on two MSCS nodes in one MSCS
cluster. Ofcourse ESR is also on the same lines.
In brief, for each SAP system you have to install one central instance and at least one dialog instance.
For example, if your local instance on both nodes should have below listed items
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\ASCS20
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SCS10
And these above folders are junction point with Central Instance that's build in SAN Drive with similar set of folders
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\ASCS20
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SCS10

  • How to restrict executing tcodes in transaction tab for master clients

This question applies SOLMAN project implementation tools: SOLAR01, SOLAR02 and so on.
Our ERP2005 development U50 system has two clients:
One is master client 101 where all customizing should take place  but no transactions are allowed
second client 102 works as sandbox client where new customizing can be test and master data and transaction are allowed.
Only U50/101 is defined in Solution manager SMSY in system role 'development system'. Currently U50/102 is not defined in Solution manager to any system role at all.
As configuration should take place via Solution manager,  the consultants use SOLAR01 and SOLAR02 in system role 'development system' meaning that they are connected to U50/101 if want to execute transactions in transaction tabs or IMG nodes in Configuration nodes.
But U50/101 is our MASTER client and no transactions nor most master data are allowed in there. We want to keep it clean. How can I avoid tcodes being executed in system role 'development'. I want to allow consultants use tcodes if they change to system role 'quality system'. But they might forget to change the system role before executing the transaction.
Is there an option in Solution manager Project implementation tools that do not allow tcode launch from transaction tabs when system role is 'development system'.
Of course I can restrict tcode execution with authorizations in satellite systems, but then I would need to disable authorizations for each tcode possibly being used. So I don't like that option.
    br: Kimmo

Okay, I'll continue dialog with myself. I found solution how to assign other clients on one system to other system roles, which are so-called 'customer roles'.
    See solution manager help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/3b/8be61c54d22945837fd69861d21a08/content.htm
I did not know until know, that system roles are actually customizable. The roles with letter P,D,C,T,E, etc. are reserved for SAP but you can create your own system roles into table SMSY_ROLES. You would not do it with SM30, but from tcode SMSY and following menu Utilities-System Settings->tab:System Roles. Switch to change mode. Roles with 0-9 are available for "customer roles". Choose role type and write your own description ( like: Sandbox client in development system ).
Now the new role is available in SMSY. But You cannot see it yet in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN/System Landscape tab. In there you must press button 'System role assignment' and in the opening window add your own 0-9 role defined earlier and save. Now you see your new role in 'system landscape' tab and you can assign systems to it like you had done with SAP standard roles.
Now users using implementation tools can change their current system role to your new 'customer role'.
But what it comes to my original problem (see title), that still remains. I have debugged the tcode execution from transaction tabs and don't see any possible way to avoid tcodes being executed for an unwanted system role. An Enhancement Spot ( =new BADI) can of cource be used for making custom rule for my requirement.
I'll make this thread answered. Hope you joined my self-dialog.
