Transfer contacts, iPod touch to iPhone 4S

Hello,
I have an iPod touch 3rd generation.  My iPod syncs my contacts with my works exchange server using mail for exchange feature in ios.  I have now left the company.  All of my contacts are still on my iPod touch.  Is there a way I can transfer these to my iPhone 4S ?
Thanks in advance,
tom

This solution does not work for the 2gen ipod touch. The app requires 4.3+.
At Christmas, I upgraded to an iphone.  However, due to all of the problems I have run into, now sincerely regret it.  After working a whole day on various problems in getting the apps, photos, videos, and music transferred from the iPod to the iPhone, I thought I was finally finished.  Then I realized that no content from the phone list, contacts app (address book), or calendar had been transferred.
I use a lightweight, very portable notebook (that can easily travel with me) to use for syncing with my ipod.  When I bought the notebook I did not realize that it had very little software on it, not even a full operating system (just Windows 7 "Starter"...the worst OS ever issued...even worse than Vista).  Microsoft does not provide any mail software with "Starter," much less Outlook.
I will say it was pretty easy to use in syncing with the iPod.  However, I did not know the iPod was not being fully backed up until I got the iPhone and found that not everything from the iPod had been transferred to the iPhone.  Then I realized my phone list, contacts, and calendar had not ever been backed up.
Apple sure has put those of us with older iPods in an impossible position.  Even if we buy new Apple hardware, we cannot retrieve the vital data stored on our old iPods.  If we need the information stored on them, we are stuck 1) having to reenter all the contacts and months of calendar data, 2) buying mail software we will only use one time to enable transfer of the data, or 3) continuing to use the old iPod because there isn't a way to transfer the iPod data to any new Apple product.
Yes, I guess you can hear my frustration.

  • Can't get Contacts/Calendar to transfer from iPod Touch to iPhone 3Gs

Just got the new iPhone 3Gs, and I have an iPod Touch (1st gen). I chose to sync manually because I didn't want my son's apps on my iPhone, but when I tried to sync my contacts and calendar from the iTouch to the iPhone, I get no contacts. How can I transfer my contacts and calendar from my iTouch to my iPhone? Thanks!

You need to sync them from iTunes on your computer to your phone
In iTunes on your computer click on tones in left column and make sure your ringtones are there.  Plug in your phone to computer with USB cable.  Click on phone name I left column. Click on the tone tab on the right of iTunes screen and then select sync all tones and then click on apply or sync at the bottom right of iTunes screen

  • I had my ipod touch and iphone synced to itunes on my computer that just bit the dust...If I don't replace the computer, can I still add stuff to these two devices?

I had my ipod touch and iphone synced to itunes on my PC and basically managed my photos and music, etc. from there.  However recently my computer died and I am considering replacing it with an ipad eventually.  Can I still add stuff onto my two devices?  And if so, am I limited to apple store purchases only?  Can I retain all the photos and non-apple store downloaded music that is presently on these two devices?  Any guidance in this area will be very welcome!

    Morning @mb,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Notes transfer to Ipod Touch

I would like to transfer notes from a Palm to a new iPod Touch. I understand that one way to sync is to sync with Mac Mail notes. However, I can't find a way to transfer Palm notes to Mac Mail. Any thoughts?

Sharing voice memos with your computer
You can sync voice memos with the primary iTunes library on your computer, then listen to
memos on your computer or sync them with another iPod touch or iPhone.
When you delete a synced memo from iTunes, it stays on the device where it was recorded, but
is deleted from any other iPod touch or iPhone you synced. If you delete a synced memo on
iPod touch, it's copied back to iPod touch the next time you sync with iTunes, but you can’t sync
that copy back to iTunes a second time.
Sync voice memos with iTunes: Connect iPod touch to your computer and select it in iTunes.
Select Music at the top of the screen, select Sync Music, select “Include voice memos,” and
    click Apply.
Voice memos synced from iPod touch to your computer appear in the Music list and in the Voice
Memos playlist in iTunes. Memos synced from your computer appear in the Voice Memos app on
iPod touch, but not in the Music app.

  • Transfer from Ipod touch to new computer

Hi, I have bought a new computer with windows vista, I want to transfer all my music from my Ipod touch to Itunes libary, I am very new to Itunes....I have tried to show all hidden files as per a previous post but that doesn't work?? Can anybody please help?

iTunes will only let you copy your purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod Touch or iPhone. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer data (such as playcounts and ratings), movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well.

  • Since latest update, Sound Check on Ipod touch and Iphone doesn't work.

My playlists have always played at an even volume before Sunday's software updates to Itunes, Ipod touch, and Iphone.  Now my playlist volumes are all over the map.  I teach a fitness class in a large room to 70 people, and this is ruining it!!  Apple support on the phone told me it should work.  Yes, it did work until the update, and I didn't change anything until I noticed it wasn't working anymore.
Now I have uninstalled/reinstalled Itunes, restored my Ipod Touch as a new Ipod, and even deleted and reloaded my music.  Still not working!!!

Just a stab in the dark, but check:
Settings -> WiFi -> (your WiFi network) -> HTTP Proxy
Set the Proxy to Auto and see if that helps.

  • I cannot get my ipod touch or iphone to be recognized by Itunes on my mac mini. Only when i download itunes each time afresh, will it show up the first time. Then these devices will not be recognized at other times. Is it because i am not uninstalling it

I cannot get my ipod touch or iphone to be recognized by Itunes on my mac mini. Only when i download itunes each time afresh, will it show up the first time. Then these devices will not be recognized subsequently. Is it because i am not uninstalling itunes before I download it? Surely this is a basic thing, ie that my devices need to recognize each other?

  • IPod Touch (and iPhone) can't find Belkin N Wireless Router

I spent over an hour looking for an answer to this problem today and accidently found a solution - so am posting the answer.
Have a 2 year old Belkin N Wireless Router (model F5D8236-4v1) with SSID broadcasting on and WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK) security selected.
All the Windows laptops in the house could see the wireless SSID and could successfully log in after entering the WPA/WPA2 password.
Both iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS could NOT see the SSID. Also entering the wireless router IP address directly instead of the SSID did NOT work.
After an hour of looking for solutions on-line, including:
    - Tried no security
    - Tried WEP 64 and 128 bit security
then stumbled across a thread in a forum where someone referred to changing a "-" (dash) in an SSID name to a character. So tried this.
The old SSID name includes spaces - "name name1 name2". I deleted the spaces, and the problem was solved.
This Belkin router comes with a default name of BelkinN_WirelessXXXXXX, but does not say in the online help to NOT use spaces in the SSID name. And again, the Windows laptops could see the wireless Router while it had the SSID name INCLUDING the spaces in the name.
Hope this saves at least one person going through the same wasted hour.

Click on the blue arrow to the right of the network name, if IP address starts with "169." ,restart your router. It should connect properly after your router reboots in a minute or two.

  • ICal Syncing Wrong Times with Ipod Touch or iPhone - Everything 2 Hours Off

Every setting is uniform across all devices (timezones, etc) and yet iCal on my iPod touch or iPhone lists my scheduled events 2 hours earlier than what I inputed on my computer. The iCal calendar on Snow Leopard is correct, but my synced devices are not.
What gives? This is a HUUUGEEE issue for someone that uses their schedule book to get through each day. iCal is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE with this issue.

I have almost exactly the same problem. The ical on my macbook has the correct times, but on my ipod touch all events appear one hour earlier. Both devices are set to Geneva time, and the time displayed on them is the same.
This is really annoying as I am about to set off travelling, and was just going to take my touch for schedule - now I either have to pack my macbook or do everything the good old fashioned pen and paper way.
    Can anyone help?

  • HT201302 how to transfer contacts and massages from iphone to computer

How to transfer contacts and massages from iphone to computer?

    Hi, Shahmeer23c
iCloud is useful for a lot of things and backing up your iPhone's data is one of them. Included in the data and files that you can safely keep using iCloud are your contacts. The following instructions detail how to transfer contacts from iPhone to computer.
Step 1. On your iPhone, tap on Settings. On the "Settings" menu, select "iCloud". You will then be taken to the iCloud Settings.
Step 2. Enable the "Contacts" setting and should you be informed that you'll have to merge your contacts to iCloud, tap "Merge".
Step 3. Now on your computer, go to iCloud.com and login with your iCloud credentials.
Step 4. Once you're logged in, click on the Contacts icon to access your address book and all iCloud features for the contacts you've uploaded.
Step 5. In the address book, click on the cog icon at the lower-left portion, click "Select All", and "Export vCard" afterwards.
Step 6. iCloud will then give you a vCard that you can store on your computer. It contains all the contacts you've uploaded to iCloud using your iPhone.

  • Does the ipod touch of iphone support Calender groups?

    Hi,
I use an ipod touch 1.1.4 firmware. In my iCal calendar, I have 3 groups. When I sync the iCal calenders with the ipod touch in iTunes, the ipod touch displays the events fine, but classifies them all as one group. Do the ipod touch or iphone support multiple groups in the calendar? If they don't is there a way to get around that limitation? Thanks.

No need to hope for a 3rd party solution - this will be a feature of the v2.0 software ($10 for your IPT, available in "early July", perhaps at the same time as the 3G iPhone launch on July 11th).
We can "see" right now. Have a look at this image (taken from this page of the Apple website), which clearly shows syncing with multiple calendars from iCal.
    Hope this helps...

  • Will there ever be an 128GB iPod Touch or iPhone?

Will there ever be an 128GB iPod Touch or iPhone?

I have 150 GB of music.  The Max iPhone 6 still cannot hold it all.   Also, considering that iPhone memory would be needed for many other purposes it doesn't help me very much.
Hopefully, my iPod classic will "hold out" until Apple can meet the competition.
