Transfer/Copy purchased Apps upon adding Apple equipment and opening new ID in the family

Upon acquiring ever more Apple equipments in our family, it became overwhelming to manage all with one Apple ID.
A new ID was created with family sharing, etc however I transfer or copy of purchased Apps could not be moved across (even if only used on one ID going forward) which was an unexpected feature.
Having read some older post on similar request, I wonder if in December 2014, Apple requires that customers pay twice for installing or licensing its exact same apps once to a single Apple ID? One post seemed to suggest that copy/paste apps across was an option. If this can be confirmed, I would be most grateful.

If you are referring to an iDevice, sign out of your new Apple ID and sign back in with your old one - they should all be there.

I just purchased a new Ipad with 4G yesterday and I am trying to transfer my purchased apps from my old Ipad to the new one. We have one Apple ID and one Itunes account that we are using.

Connect the old iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and then sync the iPad. A backup will be created when you sync the iPad and your purchased apps should transfer into your iTunes library on the computer. Just to be safe - manually transfer the purchases as well.
After the sync completes - right click on the iPad name on the left side under "Devices" and select - Transfer Purchases. Let the process complete - and just because I am OCD - I would sync one last time. Eject the iPad and quit iTunes.
Then connect your new iPad to the computer and launch iTunes again. You will be given the opportunity to set up as new or to restore from the backup of the old iPad. Choose backup from the iPad - let the process complete - and then follow that with a sync with iTunes to put all of the content that was on the old iPad onto the new one.

1. I've checked the compatibility of one app appearing in the list of available updates on the new macbook pro. As the e-mail did not originate from an Apple e-mail address, I would avoid taking any action as indicated in the message. I would recommend marking the message as spam and reporting it to your e-mail provider if possible.

As long as the apps are still in the store then you can redownload them directly on both the iPhone 5 and iPad via the Purchased tab in their App Store apps, and (depending upon what country that you are in) you may also be able to redownload your music purchases on them via the Purchased tab in their iTunes store apps.
But if you want the apps content from your 3G and not just the apps, then you will need to go via a computer's iTunes e.g. connect the 3G and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy the apps and songs etc over to your computer's iTunes, then take a backup of the phone (File > Devices > Back Up) and then restore that backup on the iPhone 5 and/or iPad (restoring will replace all current content on them).
Going forward you don't have to backup to a computer, you will be able to backup to iCloud (the 3G is too old to support iCloud, so you can't back that up to it) :

Ideally though you'd have a computer that you could copy your iTunes downloads over to so that you can take a backup copy of them (and you could also back the iPhone and iPad up to a computer). There is no guarantee that any item will remain in the store for future redownloading, the content provider (app developer, record company etc) could remove their item from the store - and ringtones and audiobooks are currently one-time only downloads from the store, so without a computer you won't be able to them from one device to the other. A computer isn't needed, but it would be preferable to have one.

Yes, but you'll need to update them from the original Apple ID, and may need to change the one signed into the iTunes Store to make in-app purchases.

I'm asking because I purchased an app with an id that has been cancelled so I cannot update that particular app. I can purchase the app with my new id but I don't want to do so if its going to erase all the data I have with the previous purchase...

No sweat. Sync both to the same computer's iTunes. You'll have to configure the sync characteristics separately. The iTunes keeps track of which is which by S/N. You might wish to rename one or both so that you can keep track.

Sounds like you might have an Apple Store Gift Card instead of an iTunes Gift Card.
You can use your Apple Store Gift Card at the Apple Online Store or Apple Retail Store. iTunes Gift Card or iTunes gift certificates are for for purchases on the iTunes Store, iBooks, App Store, and Mac App Store.
