my husband has two apple id's (don't ask , please)
he has $50 credit from an itunes gift card on the old id. how can we get that from there to his new id to use? wanted to try to gift it - but it seems to default to the credit card on file vs the account credit.
any advice?

My mom bought some songs with her Apple ID that I want to transfer to my own iTunes library. I've done this before because I got a bunch of music from my dad's Apple ID that I had bought when I was sharing with him, but now I can't figure out how to do it again. I'm planning on creating a new Apple ID due to an email address change, but am worried that doing so will prevent me from reinstalling any purchases I have made with my old Apple ID.

It is not possible to merge two iTunes accounts.
Do yourself a favor, do not create a new iTunes account, simply update the account information for the one you already have.

I have always used my sisters iTunes when buying music and apps as I never really needed my own and well it was cheaper buying it into one account than do it separately. However now I am off to uni, I would like my own apple ID for my new mac and hopefully iPhone. We obviously need separate accounts now but I still want the music that's on hers. Can i transfer redeemed credit from one apple id to another?

I set up a new apple id on my new ipod touch, forgetting that I already have an apple id with all my old music on.
Before i realised this, I had already redeemed £45 worth of credit on to my new apple id.
What I would like to do is delete my new account, but at the same time transfer the credit I haven't yet used to my old apple id.
Is this in anyway possible? I am not particularly bothered about losing a few songs i purchased with my new apple id, so long as I can retain the credit I have left.
Also to throw a spanner in the works, the new apple id account isn't accepting my password (which was previously working) everytime I either sign in or verify my apple id on my ipod touch. Of course I tried to reset my password which took me to two options: (a) Send an e-mail to the address(es) attatched to my account to reset my password. This won't work because the e-mail that comes through is one of this nature: 'Please verify the contact email address for your Apple ID' and so I click the link and in order for me to verify the e-mail address with the apple id, I need to sign in with my apple id username and password (which I have forgotten). Which takes me round in a viscous circle! (b) Answer some security questions - but before I can answer any questions, I need to give my date of birth...which it doesn't accept!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I just want one apple id account (my old one) with the credit from my new account (that I can't access).

When I got my first Ipod several years ago my parents created an Apple ID, or whatever it was called back then, so I could download music. This is where about 90% of my music was downloaded from. When I got my Iphone 4S just over a year ago I created my own Apple ID with my own email address. I used this ID to download more music. I used this ID to sign in on my laptop and I downloaded some music from some CDs and other non-Itunes material. However it will not let me sync my Iphone to this ID because it says it can only be synced to the other one and in order to sync it with the one under my email address I have to clear what is currently on my Iphone in order to sync with the small material on the Itunes library under my email address which is stupid because then I end up losing most of my music downloads. What I am wondering is if there is a way to transfer material from my parents ID to mine so all of my stuff is in one place without having to clear my Iphone.

What you could do is to authorise your laptop with your old Apple ID
Store > Authorise this Computer..
Then transfer all the old purchases from your old computer to this one so they are all in the same itunes.
Connect up your iPhone 4 to the new machine. Yes it will ask you to erase. Go ahead and erase then as all your music is on the iTunes for this machine you can resync it but still use your new Apple ID for future purchases.

You can't merge two IDs. If you're talking about music, video, etc. that you bought at the iTunes store, then you can't copy/download one file from one account to another. Same thing with icloud.
