Transfer current music to new ipod

I think I know the answer to this but don't want to lose all my efforts. If I plug in my new ipod into my computer, it will automatically load all my music and playlists to this new ipod. If this is not the case, how do you accomplish this without messing everything up. Thanks

Yes. The answer above only transfers itunes purchases. What you want to do is copy the iTunes Music folder. In My Documents, there should be a My Music folder, under that should be a folder called "iTunes". Copy that and you should be set. Copy it into the same place as the existing itunes folder. I recommend renaming the existing one. Make sure itunes is closed.

  • Transfer pictures/music to new ipod

I would like to get my daughter a new ipod because she is having minor issues with her current ipod and the screen is cracked.  She has informed me that she will not be able to transfer or save her current pictures and music on a new or different ipod. Is this correct?

If the pictures are in the the iPod Camera Roll album that are included in the backup that iTunes makes. Thus just restore from backup. See:
iOS: Transferring information from your current iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device
Synced items like apps and music are not included in the backup. Thus you need to get those in your/her iTunes library. See:

  • Transfer unsynced music to new ipod

i have a new gen 4 touch ipod and i need to get the stuff off my old one??
it's unsynced? how do i do that?

iOS: Transferring information from your current iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device
Basicially, backup the iPod and restore the new device from that backup.
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Manual  transfer of music to new Ipod Classic

I want to select only some of the music library contained on our computer to download on a new ipod classic. We already have another ipod that is synched to that computer. How can I move only some music to the new ipod?

Connect it to your computer, select it in the Devices frame, on the Summary Tab tick the box saying "Manually Manage music" and click Apply.
Drag the songs from your library that you want to your iPod.

    Hi There
You can only transfer purchased music from your iPod to iTunes using iTunes. However there are third party utilities that you can use to retrieve your music, just do a google search or have a look on http://www.versiontracker.com
    Hope this helps

  • How do I transfer the music from my iPod to my new IMac computer (95% of the music on it is from CD's I own)?

How do I transfer the music from my IPod to my new IMac computer?  I just changed from a PC to IMac. 95% of the music on it is from CD's I own and the ITunes on the new IMac is only recongnizing the ones I bought off of ITunes.

That is correct.  The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

Been using your Syncstats, working magically.
However though, when I try to sync the stats of all songs at once - if one song poses a problem - everything stops.
Is there a way around this?
Rather than: click "no" (in order to manually sync songs one by one)??
By the way - this pops up:
    Line: 136. Char:53
    A0040203
Lines 136 & 137 deal with updating the Last Played and Last Skipped values. I initially suspected the error could be being caused by null values in one of the fields which I didn't encounter in testing, however the same values are accessed previously in lines 129 & 131. Ideally I'd work out exactly what causes the error so I can test for the problem issue rather than throw the error, handle those circumstances in the most sensible way given the aim of the script, and continue to process non-error causing values as is.
The quick alternative is to ignore the error by placing an On Error Resume Next statement before the possibly probablematic code, and an On Error Goto 0 statement after it to resume normal error handling. I.e.
    On Error Resume Next
    {Ignore errors in this block}
    On Error Goto 0
Not always a good idea but in this case I suspect "Do nothing" would be the appropiate action in those cases that currently cause an error so I've made that change and posted up the new build of SyncStats. Let me know how you get on.

I lost the music on my pc when I had to reformat the disk.  Is there any way to transfer the music from the Ipod to the pc?  I am told that if I try to sync the music that it will erase all the music on my Ipod.

  • Is there any way to transfer my music from my iPod to my iTunes without the original MP3's as my Laptop was stolen.

    Hi Guys,
I have recently had my laptop stolen, therefore lost all my music etc.
I have a third generation 40GB iPod with most of the music on it (ripped from CD's etc.)
Is there anyway I can transfer the mp3's from this iPod to my new computer? Just so I can transfer it to my new iPod touch.
It's going to be a pain having to buy all the mp3's.

  • Can I transfer my music from my iPod Touch to my iTunes library?

So my computer (and my backup external hard drive) was stolen. With it went all my music. Most of this music was ripped from CD, and I don't have the CDs anymore, so the music is just gone. I still have my whole library on my iPod Touch 4G, so I was hoping there is a good way to transfer my music from the iPod to the new iTunes. The iPod is jailbroken, but I would prefer to use a "legit" method instead of some jailbreak hack. Does anyone know of a good way to transfer my library?
    Thanks!

Oh, never mind...figured out what I needed to know elsewhere. Should have done more research first!
