Transfer data allowance from one phone to another?

Hi Guys, This is my first post (ever). I've just recently switched to a Telstra Plan and I've run into my 1GB data usage limit. Which is fair enough. However one of my collegues has a 20GB data usage limit that he never comes close to fully using. Is there any way currently (or could there be in the future) where he could transfer some of his allowance to my phone? I've seen the thread regarding adding shared data to consumer plans - and I think that's great and definately a step in the right direction. Actually, seeing how people have acted on that has encouraged me to post this (and hopefully I can get a similar result). I know people transfer credit between phones - so why not data allowance? Thanks in Advance!

See that's no help at all - and feels like you're delibertly avoiding my point and misdirecting me (with a smile) down a path I want to avoid. Its actually not very helpful to simply sound helpful and avoid the issue. Personally, I'd prefer a straight "No, thats not possible." with possibly "Here's why its not possible.". That has more honesty and integrity. I do appreciate you taking the time to reply - but an answer like that is wasting both of our time. I suspect you'd agree privately. Now, I'm trying to be helpful and give you feedback (on my own time) about features I would like to have - and given that there's been almost 10k views on the orginal email - I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that your other customers might be interested in this feature too. I don't want a datapack. Between myself and my wife, we're already paying for 7gb of data. I just want to pool that allowance between us. Sounds reasonable, doesn't it? Now you can tell me No (which is fine). Maybe you can tell me why (which would be great). You could tell me you're taking it seriously and working on bringing it to market (which would be fantastic). But please don't tell me to spend more money on a datapack.

  • Why is it taking so long to transfer data. From one MacBook to another?

I'm transferring data from my old MacBook pro to a new mb pro. 68 hours? Wow why so slow. It is via my wifi but 68 hours. Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

If it's slow WiFi and a lot of data then 68 hours may be right. But you haven't provided any information upon which to base an estimate.
Gigabit Ethernet might reach a practical transfer rate of around 420 MB/s or about the speed of a USB drive. High speed WiFi is 1/3 that fast at best. Slow WiFi is 1/10 that speed at best. So you can make a rough guess of time to transfer an amount of data.

  • Alternative ways to transfer my contacts from one phone to another.

My old phone is a Curve 8310 and my new phone is a Torch 9800. The reason for the new phone is the pins where you plug the USB cable into on the 8310 broke. So can't charge it or connect it to my computer to get my contacts out to transfer to my Torch. Is there a way to get this information out via the Bluetooth or with the mini SD card?

There is a very simple way to do this.  If you have Outlook installed on your computer, just connect your 3GS phone then click it’s picture on iTunes, go to the Info tab and select to sync the contacts with Outlook.  When the contacts re synced, you will only need to do the same when you get your new iPhone 4.
Or just turn on iCloud with the same AppleID on both phones.
No need to do anything else.

I have Firefox Home on my phone and I can get them there, but I want to have the same bookmarks on my home computer as I do on my work computer. If I have a user name then where do I sign into Firefox, it should be that easy but I can't seem to figure it out.

    Hey susanneyes,
Sounds like you want to set up Firefox Sync. This will allow you to keep all of your instances of Firefox synchronized. Just follow the steps in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync?s=sync&r=0&as=s this article] and you'll be set.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • How to Transfer the iPhone from one computer to another Win XP

    All
I got my wife a new macbook pro, running Windows XP prof. She has an iphone 3G with 16 GB memory running 3.0.1. So..she wanted to transfer the sync function from her PC to her macbook. Of course, Apple was of NO help at all (but did want to charge us $69.95 since her iphone is out of warranty, and this was an iphone not a mac problem, hmmm..). Took me lots of digging, but here is how you transfer you iphone from one computer to another:
    1. Move you itunes library from the old computer to the new one. To do this, you do NOT just copy it. This is as good a link to use as any to see how to do it, but search the internet and you can find instructions:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-12519_7-10242259-49.html
    2. Transfer your applications you have purchased to the new computer. To do this, open itunes in the new computer, hook up your phone and click on File>transfer purchases (from itunes store) to computer. This will move your applications to the new computer.
    3. Export your MS outlook calendar, contacts, notes, etc. to the new computer by saving each of these categories as a PST file (file>export>then choose the category and type of file)...and then copy these PST files to your new computer and import them into MS outlook.
    4. Copy your playlists from itunes on your old computer to your new computer. This link may be helpful or search the internet again if you need to:

    5. Now...the important part...how to transfer all your settings from the iphone to the new computer....this is the part that was hard to find online, but finally got it: NOTE: THE BACKUP THAT ITUNES MAKES BACKS UP THE APPLICATION SETTINGS BUT NOT THE APPS SO THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO TRANSFER THE APPS TO THE NEW COMPUTER. The settings have all the data you put into your apps, email settings, preferences, etc...so its a huge time save to transfer these to the new computer also.
-Sync your iphone with your old computer to have a backup in case you mess up...in that case you can restore from your old computer and start over
-Plug your iphone into the new ocmputer and start itunes. It will detect your phone (I assume you have already authorized your new computer to use the library and playlists and apps that you moved)
-Right click on the "iphone" on the left bar...you will see a popup menu...click on "BACKUP". Let it backup your iphone to the new computer. It will NOT sync the phone
-When the backup is done....copy the backup file to a temp directory to be safe. The backup is located in "documents and settings">user name>applications>apple computer>mobile sync. If you cannot see it, you need to open windows explorer (not internet explorer) and go to tools>folder options>view and click on "show hidden files and folders" Note YOU CANNOT JUST COPY THE BACKUP FROM THE OLD COMPUTER TO THE NEW COMPUTER AS SUGGESTED ON SOME WEB SITES...THIS DOES NOT WORK, ITUNES WILL NOT IDENTIFY THE BACKUP EVEN IF YOU PUT IT IN THE FOLDER IN THE NEW COMPUTER THAT MIRRORS THE FOLDER LOCATION IN THE OLD COMPUTER.
-OK now you are ready...click restore on the iphone and restore the phone to factory settings. This will happen in a few minutes (10-15 mins).
-The phone will reboot and itunes will recognize the phone again...as a restored phone. It will then ask you if you want to restore it from the backup..say YES. You then need to go through all the itunes tabs and click on everything you want to sync to the phone (playlists, movies, podcasts, ringtones, etc). Once you are done going thru the tabs click "apply" and the sync will start. Go out, to a movie, to bed, whatever because it will take hours to sync.
-Once the sync is done...voila...your iphone has been moved with ALL the settings to the new computer. Check it. Then you can delete the backup you put into the temp folder if it is OK
    -Deauthorize your old computer
This worked for Win XP...should work for Vista. The whole process took many hours so don't rush through it (i'm guessing 12 hours total work).

  • How can i transfer my music from one account to another on a different computer?

So i have an itunes account on dell laptop and i share that account with other famliy members. I recently bought a mac pro and wanted to create a new account that way i can use icloud, is there any possible way to transfer everything from my old library to my new one or will i lose everything i had on my phone and ipods? Or is it possible to have one account but multiple icloud accounts?

    lisafromwindermere wrote:

    Lisa,
Just get copies of the song files and add them to your iTunes library.  With the exception of any DRM-protected files (purchased before mid-2009 and never upgraded) they will play fine, even though they are technically associated with the original account.

  • Can i transfer my backup from one laptop to another?

I have my backup of apps and music stored in one laptop's iTunes account, how can I transfer my backup from one laptop to another?

iTunes downloads are not stored in a backup (that contains documents, files, camera roll photos, app content/settings etc), neither are the contents of the device's Music and Videos apps - instead a restore would look to pick up your music, films, apps etc from your iTunes library.
Your backups are stored under :
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then press Return.
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, then choose Run. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then click OK.
You will need to copy the entire backup directory and copy it into the relevant directory on your other laptop - it should then automatically be picked up by that computer's iTunes and show on the Devices tab in Edit > Preference (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) on it.

You can also use home sharing to copy content between computers : iTunes: Setting up Home Sharing on your computer.

  • Transfer of AUC from one fund to another fund

We are a governmental entity.  We have assets under construction.  Our Board just approved the official closing of a fund that had AUC.  The AUC needs to be transferred to another fund.   We attempted posting a journal entry where we credited against the WBS element and debited not referencing the WBS element in the closed fund and debited against the WBS element and credited not referencing the WBS element in the transfer to fund.  Then, we went through the settlement process.  The CIP moved from one asset sub-number to another asset sub-number.  However, the value did not move from the closed fund to the other fund.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to accomplish this transfer of AUC from one fund to another?

    Karl,
All but one of your assumptions is correct. The original WBS element is not yet closed.
    Here is what we have...
    WBS1 settled to AUC1
We need to transfer the value of AUC1 in FundA to AUC2 in Fund2 so that we can close FundA.
Can you elaborate on your statement... "create a settlement rule for WBS with the old receiver "AuC"."?
Is it possible to transfer from one AUC to another AUC in different funds using ABUMN?
We did performed a test1 where we credited WBS1 and debited WBS2, and ran through all of our processes (AS11_FMIM, CJ8G, ASKB, AFABN). AFABN should have did the following...
DR Investment in Fixed Assets for FundA
CR Investment in Fixed Assets for FundB
    and
DR AUC settlement GL account for FundB
CR AUC settlement GL account for FundA
But only entries for FundB were created. We were able to successfully run all processes and post all entries correct for two other WBS elements that we selected in another test. We thought that there was a probem with the master data setup of WBS1 because when we display it and look on the "Assignments" tab, Object Class is set to "Overhead" instead of "Investment". Would this be causing our problem? Thanks for your help.

For now assuming that you are using Premiere Elements 11, 12/12.1, or 13/13.1 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
I am not sure that Left and Right channel audio editing is the answer to your DVD echo issue, but the opportunities for audio channel editing in Premiere Elements would include (before burn to)
    1. Audio Mixer - Balance.
    2. fx Effects/Audio Effects
    Please refer to https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/using/effects-reference.html#audio_effects
for explanations of the Audio Effects.....
    Balance
    Channel Volume
    Left Fill, Right Fill
    Invert
    Swap Channels
And, there is the free audio editor, Audacity Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder for channel editing.
Do you hear the echo before the burn to disc?
Is any of the Timeline video content from your cell phone? If so, did you have any issues with a variable frame rate when you were preparing the video in Edit area for burn to in Publish+Share?
What audio effects, if any, did you apply to the Timeline audio content prior to burn to?
    Please consider.

  • Transfer iPhone Apps from One Account to Another

    *Hello everybody,*
*Since I'll be moving to Germany soon to study Medicine, I've created a new iTunes account which is the one I use regularly. I was wondering if there is a possible way to transfer paid apps from one account to another for the same iPhone, and if it's not possible what do you suggest so I can still use my paid apps with my new account.*
    *Thank you*

What you would do is on computer authorize other account for that computer. So you computer is authorized to play both accounts. Then you can sync apps from both accounts to your phone using the same computer as before.
My wife and I both have our own accounts and each of our instances of iTunes have authorized each others accounts for that computer. So I can sync her apps and she can sync mine. Just becomes a pain when you update an app via the cell phone when updates come out as trying to do all at once usually fails if the apps for updating are for each account. So have to do one at a time or just have them update via iTunes and sync.

  • Transfer Consignment Stock from one customer to Another

    Hi,
I want to transfer consignment stock from one customer to another. How can I do this? The other data are the same: material, plant only the customer change. Example:
1 - Material: "A", quantity: 10 UN, plant: 0101 in customer: "ABC" now I want to transfer this material: "A" from customer "ABC" to customer "BCA".
    Thanks

    hi,
First transfer it to Unrestricted stock and then transfer it customer....
this is because, you can't trasfer because its not your stock till you consume out of it....
till that time its vendor stock only...and you have no right to trasfer from consignment to customer....
    Hope it helps..

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
