Transfer data to sd card fails to start

Hi all,
In the storage section of settings on my Xperia Z2 there is a "transfer Data to sd card" option. it use to work just fine. Once the internal storage was awfully full and came a notification that said "75% full, transfer data to sd card" tried it like always but this time it fails to start. When I try to run it from inside the settings, also fails to start.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

  • Disable "Transfer data to SD card" message

This message is useful once, and then becomes pointless and annoying. I'm not going to install an SD card, and I'm not going to delete data when I still have multiple GB free. Please allow us to disable this silly message in a future update.

How do I disable the notification "Transfer data to SD card - Internal storage is 75% full"? after update to Lollipop

Hi @rainbowgoblin I should use the File Commander app, you could read about it here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobisystems.fileman&hl=es_419 You can also set with the Android adb, to store apps in the SD Card intead of the internal memory. You should have ADB installed, the SDK up to date, and the USB debugging turned on from your device on the Developer Options.
Then plug your Xperia to your computer and from a command prompt (you'll probably have to be in the folder where adb.exe is, most likely something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe) run this command: adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2 (where 0 represents the internal storage and 2 represents the SD Card storage). To clear warnings about the available memory space on your device you can run: adb shell pm hide com.sonymobile.storagechecker I hope can be useful. Best Regards,

  • Don't transfer data to SD card or you will ending losing your data if interruption happen

    Hello guys,
Don't fall in this trap and let the phone move data from internal memory to SD card to free up space as it can be interrupted for some unkown reasons and end up losing your data. ( Interruption in my case was screen auto lock i believe )
It happened to me yesterday when it was moving the pictures and all of them are gone now.
I contact the customer care and they said they can't help or do anything but asked me to format the SD card
I found users of Xperia L was facing same bug/issue before: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-L/Transfer-of-data-to-SD-card-interrupted/m-p/342469
What i found that the capacity of SD card increased and a folder called LOST.DIR was shown there..
Any ideas how to retrive this as sony aint helpful at all?
P.S: SD card is SanDisk 16 GB class 10

Issue happened again even after i moved pictures manually to SD Card.
I formatted SD card, re-added it to the phone and used file commander to move them

    I have a macbook laptop, OS 10.4.11. I have a card read/writer gadget usb2.0 mac compatible.
I have no idea what to do though so some step by step instruction would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

Put your card in the reader and put that into the Mac.
Drag whatever you want from the card onto the desktop.
Now put another card into the reader and drag that which is on the desktop onto the second card.

  • Power Mac G5 fails to start up with Airport Extreme card in.

    Hello.
I just received a 'new' Airport Extreme card for my Power Mac G5 1.8 (900fsb). I just installed it and it failed to start up with it in. The mac started up but without my Apple LCD and any USB devices. I did a PMU reset on the logic board and took out the Crucial 3rd party 512mb RAM and tried again but it won't start up. When I take the card out it's business as usual.
Is it the card or the mac that's at fault? Has anyone had this problem too?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    This problem can happen if:
    - the card has not been fully seated into its socket (doing that can take a firm push) or if you installed the card upside down
    - the card is defective
    - the card socket in the PowerMac G5 has broken or bent contact pins
Check the installation you did with:
    http://www.info.apple.com/usen/cip/pdf/g5/apec_c.pdf
If you are sure the card has been properly installed, you are gong to have to either (a) try a different Airport Extreme card or (b) let an Apple dealer or service center take a look at your PowerMac G5.

  • How  to start in TDM or transfer data from an older Mac without FireWire??

For the MacBooks that don't have FireWire, how do you transfer data from another Mac since you can't start in Target Disk Mode?
Similarly, with a FireWire Mac, if I need to do some disk repair, I can start in TDM and run Disk Utility's Repair Disk or rebuild the directory with Disk Warrior. What do you do with these non-FireWire Macs?
(What is Apple thinking by removing FireWire???)
    Chris

For the MacBooks that don't have FireWire, how do you transfer data from another Mac since you can't start in Target Disk Mode?
    I would still use Firewire.
The hard drive is fairly easy to remove on the Macbook. I would remove it and install it in an external Firewire enclosure temporarily to transfer your files quickly and reliably, then put the drive back in the Macbook.
You 'can' use USB or Ethernet, but it's not as reliable as Firewire.
Firewire is "isochronous", basically meaning that you can pump "clocked" data though it in real time. USB works more like TCPIP, with the data chopped up into packets and later reassembled. (Thus, at a minimum, you have latency, that is, the wait for the data to be "put back together".) Second, the Firewire protocol allows more direct address to memory (including mass storage) with minimal intervention of the CPU.
Putting the drive in a external Firewire enclosure is a bit more work, but nothing will interfere with it. No collisions, no glitches. Firewire is rock-solid.

  • OPMN Failed to start: Value too large for defined data type

    Hello,
Just restared opmn and it failed to start with folloiwing errors in opmn.log:

Does anyone have ideas about cause of this error? Server normally worked more than 6 month with periodic restarts...

    Hi,
You could get error messages like that if you try to access a file larger than 2GB on a 32-bit OS. Do you have HUGE log files?

  • Device failed to start - Code 10 - Intel Wireless Card on NB550D

    Hi everyone,
    It's just a normal Toshiba NB550D netbook
The only thing that I change is the Wireless Card inside it: the original is a common Atheros half mini card. Recently I have the urge to use internet in 5 ghz (frequency).
Thus, I decide to replace the old one with the *half mini card Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN*
It doesn't turn out so well. The driver is not recognised or more precisely the windows tries to install the driver but FAIL is reported. Device manager tool shows an "!" next to the network card and when I go the its properties at general tab: "*The device failed to start - Code 10*"
I tried many ways to uninstall the driver and reinstall again ; also tried to download drivers from toshiba website for intel network card.
Nothing works so far and yeah I just don't know what to do now.
The possibility that the intel card is broken or malfunctioned is eliminated because I checked that with another laptop already and it just worked like a charm.
Please help me solve this problem. I really need to use dual band (2.4 and 5 ghz) internet.
    Appreciate any help!!

    >The possibility that the intel card is broken or malfunctioned is eliminated because I checked that with another laptop already and it just worked like a charm
    Regarding the error code 10:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943104/en-us
+The Code 10 error pertains mainly to hardware and device driver issues or to compatibility issues between hardware drivers and additional software that is installed in Windows.+
I dont think its Wlan card issue it could be a compatibility problem between the BIOS and the WLan card.
Not all devices are supported by BIOS.
But at the other hand the WLan card appears already in device manager and therefore I think there should not be a BIOS compatibility issue.
Did you check if chipset would handle the Wlan card properly?

  • Constly get sync error message this sync failed to start cannot up date or change music or apps

I have iphone 4, cannot syn in itunes for windows ver 11.1.3.8; get error message the iphone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start, I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes,  the ios is 7.0.4 is current on phone HELP please ???

    Hi, Josemne
Yes, if you can restore the system through Rescue & Recovery, then you will still have WIndows on your machine, but all your files will be deleted from the hard drive. Luckily, you have already saved those files elsewhere. I would recommend trying to restore the system and see if that works.
    Best,
    Adam

  • HT1926 reinstalled itunes after unistalling it due to error message during update. after it was completly unistalled still has the same error message: service "apple mobile device" (apple mobile device) failed to start, verify you have sufficient priviled

I was prompted to update itunes this evening. I did and in the process, it came up with the following error message: Service "apple mobile device" (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify you have sufficient priviledges to start system services. I unistalled itunes completly and reinstalled but am still getting the same error message. If I click "ignore" the program will finish downloading but will not launch due to "not being installed correctly". Please help, I use this program alot with my first grade classroom and they're expecting their listening center in the morning.

  • Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)

    Hi!
So i think i closed the wrong service at some point a few weeks back (apple mobile device) but iTunes remained working after that for another week. I then updated iTunes and i get the same  "Service ‘Apple Mobile Device’ (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." every time. If i click ignore, just so i can access iTunes with out syncing my iPod (touch 2nd gen) i then get 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)" when it has all installed. I don't understand what the problem is anymore as I have looked at other questions on the apple website, carried out the advice and it hasn't work. Any of them.
    Tings I have done:
    - Wiped all iTunes and Apple data from my computer (if you search for 'iTunes' or 'Apple' nothing comes up apart from applets from system code.
    - Attached iPod before iTunes install and updated drivers.
    - Installed iTunes as 'Run as administrator'
    - Uninstalled and re-installed the software nearly 20 times now and rebooted the computer in between everytime.
Please someone help because i really need to get music on my ipod and i enjoy the ease of use of iTunes compared to spotify or Windows Media Player.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
Regarding AMDS failures there is a hint in another thread that disabling the Windows Firewall before attempting to reinstall may help, otherwise take a look at the steps outlined in this post. Re: Can't install iTunes 12.1 on Windows 7 64-bit. I know they look a little daunting, but the process of generating the logs themselves isn't that hard to do. Extracting useful information from them is still a challenge but maybe something will leap out. If you want to post the log for the failed components for me to have a look at here or in the other thread please edit out any personal information, particularly your email address, first.

  • HT1926 My itunes won't open because it says "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" Can someone help? I don't want to delete it altogether due to needing the phone backup

I was given notification to upload the latest version of itunes recently, so I clicked installed. However it has since corrupted my itunes and I get the error message:
"This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
In poor timing, I have also accidently damaged my phone and have a new one to restore it to an old back up.
It is because of this I am reluctant to completely delete itunes off my computer and start again for fear of losing my back ups.
Is there another way to fix iTunes so I can open it again?
    Thanks
