Transfer documents from MacBook Pro to iPhone and send ?

In a place where I have access to the 3G network but no other Internet access, I use Mail with my iPhone.
How do I transfer text from the MacBook Pro to the iPhone to be able to send it ?.
If there was an application enabling the use of the iPhone as a modem for the MacBook a transfer would not be needed...
On the iPhone, I have MobileFiles which allows the transfer of files from and to my MobileMe account, Files Lite and AirSharing allowing transfers from and to the MacBook Pro. But for these two last applications I don't see a way to send the files stored on the iPhone as attached documents (and there is no copy/paste yet on the iPhone).
And I don't see a way to upload the MacBook file to the folder of MobileFiles
Do I miss something really simple ?
Thanks.

I use a desktop app called phoneview. It will let you sync notes to and from the computer. You can write a note (say cut and paste from a doc) then sync to the phone, it shows as a note, then you can email the note to anyone. It's a shame it can't be done with Airsharing.

  • Transfer word docs from Macbook pro to Iphone and send (NO WIFI)

I am a regular business traveler and recent mac convert. With my pc and windows mobile phone, I used to be able to easily do the following:
    1. Write word documents on the computer while on the plane.
    2. When documents are complete, connect phone to computer with usb cord.
    3. Transfer files to phone.
    4. When plane lands and cell coverage is available, send documents as attachments from phone using 3G coverage.
I have found lots of suggestions that cover part of this process for mac and Iphone, but all require wifi at some point. Please note, if I HAD a WIFI connection, I wouldn't need to do this because then I would send the docs from my macbook pro. The sole purpose is to be able to work around not having a wifi connection.
Any help would be appreciated. My Iphone is not jailbroken and I'm in the US on ATT.

Thanks for the suggestion of Diskaid. I have read what I can about it, and my understanding is that while it does allow me to move the document to the phone, the OS won't let me access the document to send via email. Can you clarify? Thanks much!

  • Transfer video from macbook pro to iPhone iOS 8

how to transfer video from macbook pro to iphone 5S IOS 8, anyone?

    Hi hjmdsalleh,
You typically use iTunes to sync your content to your iPhone.
iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes
If you are having problems syncing some videos, they may not be in the correct format.
iTunes: Videos may be unable to sync to iPhone, iPad, or iPod
    Take care,

  • How to transfer music from MacBook Pro to Iphone 6

I have a new iphone 6. How do I transfer my music library from my MacBook Pro to my Iphone 6. I connected the Iphone6 to my computer and under file chose sync. That didn't do it. I recently updated to Yosemite.

Open iTunes then login to your account and make sure the computer is authorized. Next go to the music tab and choose artists, songs or albums you want to sync. Click sync at the bottom of the page. At the top of the iTunes screen you should see the sync actions take place.

  • Transfer photos from MacBook Pro to iPhone

How do I transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone?

    Option 1:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.
    If that fails:
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Use the option to check and repair library permissions

  • Transfer Playlist from MacBook Pro to iPhone 5

Can someone provide a step by step description for transfering a Playlist from a MacBook Pro to an iPhone 5? Thank you.

Roaminggnome, I did read the iPhone manual (what manual were you referring to). If I had found the answer there, I would have posted this question. I have NOT found out how to synch JUST a Playlist from a Mac to an iPhone 5.
Has anyone actually done this and be able to answer my original question?
    Thank you,
    Scott

  • I can't transfer my data from macbook pro to iPhone 5?

I can't transfer my data from macbook pro to iphone 5?????
Is there anyone to help me?
    Thanks in advance.

This should work, how did you do? Explain ‘I can’t transfer my files’. You are in the new mac, the older mac is connected via wl network or eth, it is detected and mounted, and does not work?
Firewire would be better, probably with a 400-to-800 fw adapter (6 to 9 pin).

how to transfer data from macbook pro to an external hard drive, im using (WD 1TB 3.0) ???. I cannot copy anything from my mac to it not a single file.

ok - since you'll be sharing it with a PC - connect it to your windows pc - then format from there - instead of NTFS format - choose exFAT.
or, you can read the link below on how to do it in dos mode.
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/how-can-i-forma t-external-drive-in-exfat-not-in/0f6bf19a-19d6-4470-ae05-53ddf26bb476?msgId=1860 eae3-3488-4eea-8326-f87b89d9851b
once you've formatted it - you can now use it in both your macbook and windows computer.

How to transfer movie from MacBook Pro to iPad ?

For transferring videos you could use 'Video Transfer App'. I'm the developer of this universal application (iPhone/iPad) that let's you transfer videos from your iPad or computer directly to another iPhone or iPad.
The app is currently in the Top 25 iPad apps in the photography category.
Here are couple of videos that show how the app works:

My airport extreme (generation 5) was set up using wifi and has worked flawlessly (on macbook pro 2 iphones and window 7 HP pc)until recently. I have reset to factory defaults over and over but still cannot get on the internet. However I can then take my DSL cord and insert it in a different Ethernet port other than the WAN port and I can get internet on my Mac and iphones but only wifi on my husband's PC.  I hate to spend another $179 if this is just something I'm doing wrong. Please help

I'm having a bit of trouble confirming that the ZyXEL is a combination modem & wireless-N router. If it is, then you really won't get any advantages of using the 802.11g AirPort.
If the range of your ZyXEL is limited, you may find that doing either or both of the following will help: 1) Move the ZyXEL so that it is higher vs. lower in the room, that is away from any closed areas or placed in a metal cabinet, and 2) Changing radio channels. The latter is especially important in you live in an area where there are a number of competing Wi-Fi.
A good utility to find out, is iStumbler. You would use this to find these other Wi-Fi and find which have the strongest signal value. Those that do, you would also want to note which channel they are operating on, and then, change yours to one that is at least 3-5 channels away. So, for example, if you find strong ones on channels 1 & 6, change yours to 11.

  • What is the best way to transfer iPhoto from MacBook Pro to iMac?

What is the best way to transfer iPhoto from MacBook Pro to iMac?

the only way is Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.
