Transfer documents from on-premise SP 13 to online office 365

My company has been testing the waters in on-premise SP 2013 and recently thought about saving some money and putting moving over to Office 365.
Our concern is the ease of transferring all documents (1000+), especially nested folders, from on-premise to online.

i think your best viable solution is using the 3rd party tools, their is no MSFT supported way to migrate the data from on-prem to online. tools such as shareGate, MetaVis
Migrator etc.
Another thought, did you try to save the libraru as template with include content and then upload that template online
site and create a new library with that template. I never tested this just thought about it.

  • Does On-Premise TFS 2013 work with Office 365 natively or do I need an Exchange/O365 Hybrid solution?

Hello. We currently have an on-premise Exchange 2010 environment with 2 servers setup in a DAG. Our Development Department uses an on-premise TFS 2013 server for everything, they can't work without
it. Upper Management wants the IT Dept to move the company from on-premise Exchange 2010 DAG to Office 365. My concern is TFS 2013 since it uses AD and Exchange for workflow notifications. An employee's AD account is given permission to resources
inside TFS 2013 and since Exchange attributes are tied to their AD account they receive workflow notifications. My question is will I need to keep a permanent Exchange 2010/O365 Hybrid solution in-place in order for TFS 2013 to continue function
properly? If the answer is yes than that is fine, I am just looking for confirmation before I start the project. I would appreciate any advice on this topic.<o:p></o:p>
    Thanks<o:p></o:p>

    Hi Cirbin,
As far as I know, it's not supported to integrate TFS 2013 with Office 365. You can check the
    link for more information.
For your situation, whether keep a permanent Exchange 2010/O365 Hybrid solution or not, you might open a new thread in SharePoint/Exchange forum for a better response.  From the thred, seems you need  to keep the hybrid solution.
And for integration Office 365 users to TFS, please vote the user voice

I just bought a new iMac and it says it will take 27 hours to transfer documents from the old mac! Is this normal? Can I speed this up??

If you are transferring with Wi-Fi or Ethernet and you have to transfer a lot of files, it's normal. Wi-Fi and Ethernet are the slowest methods to transfer files.
Instead, you can check if your old Mac has got a FireWire 800 port. If so, you can get a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter and a FireWire cable, so the transfer will be done by FireWire, making the migration faster.
If you don't want to spend money, continue the migration. Another thing you can do is to get an external drive, make a Time Machine backup of your old Mac and use the backup to transfer your files to the new Mac. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4889?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

If I accept and pay him for this do I be eligble to use this software in company ? He is offering me full version of the product. How Can I check it ?

There is no reason to do that. You can buy a legitimate copy of the product from Adobe.
If the price is too good to be true, it's too good to be true. Caveat emptor.

     Hi Josh,
There is good info at this Apple article, especially the "about file sharing" link.

    1. Goto Share and Print
    2. Send to iTunes
    3. Choose what kind of format you want to export
    4. Plug it into your computer and goto App, then you will see your exported files under Pages
It is same as other Apps. If you don't want to plug the USB cable, you can send it to your email address and download it from your computer

How do I transfer documents from my laptop to my iPad?

Copied from the online help site for Documents 2 .....
    Opening a Document
To open an existing document for viewing or editing, tap the document title in My Documents. If your document is in a folder, tap the folder name first.
    Here is the help site.

While the app description states that you can edit many file types - when viewing the detailed description further down on the app store description page - it really does not specifically state that you can edit Word Files. It lists all the files that you can preview, but doesnt actually address the files that you can edit. It mentions the text editor feature but not the files that you can edit. It's a bit confusing to me IMO.
The online help site does describe editing spreadsheets.

How can I transfer documents from the cloud to my iPad for off line reading.?

If you're using the mobile reader, you can use the technique mentioned in this infographic titled How to work with files on the go using Adobe Reader for mobile. Or, now you can access Acrobat.com from the iPad just using a browser as mentioned in this blog Acrobat.com on iOS is a beautiful thing.

  • Just moved from in house ocs 2007 R2 to office 365 lync 2013, I'm clear to "unprep" right?

We've just migrated from in house ocs 2007 r2 to office 365 w lync 2013.  We are using dirsync to sync our AD with o365.
We'd like to decommission our OCS 2007 server since its no longer being used. Will running unprep impact our hosted lync 2013 setup given that we are using dirsync?  I don't think it should, but just want to confirm.
    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi MC625,
In my opinion, unprep is not necessary and I suggest you should not perform this action.
I haven't seen an unprep referenced in the migration from OCS to Lync 2013 articles.

  • How can I transfer documents from my macbook to my ipad?

How do I transfer folders with pdf's and word documents from my macbook to my ipad?

If you had a file sharing PDF app such as Adobe Reader (free in the App Store) when your iPad is connected to the Mac and with that file sharing window visible, click on Adobe Reader in the list of file sharing apps in order to highlight it, and then drag the PDF files that you want to sent to the iPad into that file sharing window on the right. You can also use the "add" feature rather than dragging the files into the window. Sync with iTunes and those PDF files will appear in the Adobe Reader App.
If you have iBooks, drag the PDF files into books under the library heading in the left sidebar of iTunes in order to add them to the iTunes library, then click on the Books tab in the iTunes window on the right, select those files to sync and then sync the iPad. The PDF files will be in iBooks.
You can also email them to yourself and use the Open In feature and select iBooks or Adobe Reader in which to save the files.

  • Transfer documents from MacBook Pro to iPhone and send ?

In a place where I have access to the 3G network but no other Internet access, I use Mail with my iPhone.
How do I transfer text from the MacBook Pro to the iPhone to be able to send it ?.
If there was an application enabling the use of the iPhone as a modem for the MacBook a transfer would not be needed...
On the iPhone, I have MobileFiles which allows the transfer of files from and to my MobileMe account, Files Lite and AirSharing allowing transfers from and to the MacBook Pro. But for these two last applications I don't see a way to send the files stored on the iPhone as attached documents (and there is no copy/paste yet on the iPhone).
And I don't see a way to upload the MacBook file to the folder of MobileFiles
Do I miss something really simple ?
    Thanks.

I use a desktop app called phoneview. It will let you sync notes to and from the computer. You can write a note (say cut and paste from a doc) then sync to the phone, it shows as a note, then you can email the note to anyone. It's a shame it can't be done with Airsharing.

  • How do I transfer documents from my OS X account to my window boot camp account?

I’ve been emailed a Windows document into one of my OS X accounts. How do I transfer it from the OS X account to the Windows account in my Boot Camp partition?
I only have basic Windows 7 on the latter, so no email program.

I would recommend you a USB-Stick. You could also use our disk as a communicator between windows and mac.
