Transfer downloaded rentals to new ipad?
I purchased a new ipad but still have 2 rentals on my old one. How do I transfe these?
I know rentals can only be on one device at a time. So I believe from iTunes, you can transfer the rentals from your old iPad to iTunes, then once that's done you can transfer the rental from iTunes to your new iPad.

I have pro tools and other hi tech gear in the pro keyboards/sequencing arena where I've been writing computer music since 80's and it's evolution.The Apple video app is very limited in what it will play. If you have multiple video formats and if they will play on an iPad, then you likely need a 3rd party vidoe app. One such is BUZZPlayer which is available in the iTunes App Store on a Mac or PC or from the App Store app on an iOS device.
You transfer the videos to 3rd party video apps using iOS File Sharing.

i have the latest generation ipad and just purchased an ipad mini but when signing onto the apple store, my most recent app purchases are not visible to download on my new ipad mini i.e. "receipe box". How can i download onto the new ipad mini without paying again?

The only caviat is for instance in the UK some iPads are locked to a specific network provider and therefore if the new iPad is locked then it will only work on the specific network it is locked to. -

I'm going from an IPAD1 to an IPAD4. If I back up my IPAD to the cloud and then download to the new IPAD, will it retain game data so I won't have to start my games over?

Yes, however you would be much better backing it up to iTunes to do this rather than iCloud. -
Unable to transfer ibooks contents to new ipad air 2

I am unable to transfer the iBooks contents from iPad 3rd generation running ios 7.1.1 to iPad Air 2 running ios 8.1.2. Most are owner's manual downloaded from manufacture web-site, a few are insurance documents and all are in PDF's format. I transfer the purchase and restore the old iPad backup from my Windows 8.1 PC to the new iPad; however, for some reason the iBooks contents do not transfer over. I contact Apple support for this issue yesterday. I have been cut off during the transfer to a supervisor and haven't received a call back since. I want to avoid spending time to search for and download all the manuals, documents again if at all possible. Any idea what the issue is and how to resolve it?

That's correct. Media sync is one way. The iPad is not a backup or data transfer device.
Purchased media can be re-downloaded from the iTunes store using the same ID originally used to purchase it.
Other media had to come from iTunes on your computer to begin with. -
How do i transfer apps to a new ipad 2
I have an iPad 1, and it has apps from my Apple ID (MikesHeatandAir) and my wife's Apple ID. I want to transfer all MikesHeatandAir apps to my new iPad 2, and leave my wife's apps on the iPad 1. Would I need to back up the iPad 1 on my computer, and remove all the apps that are not Mikesheatandair, and then restore the backup to my new iPad 2? Or is their an easier way?
If you backup the ipad 1, you'll probably get a message stating that there are apps that are not part of the current itunes library.
I beleive it will delete the ones that are not part of the library you are signed in with.
You should try to backup first anyway.
At any rate, you can always re-download any content directly to your ipad or compouter by signing into the itunes and app stores, and then going to 'purchased'.

How do I transfer purchases from my new iPad to my 3rd generation iPod touch?
I bought a couple albums on my new iPad. I went to transfer the purchases onto my 3rd generation iPod touch but, even signed into my iTunes account, it seems to have no idea there were any purchases. It will, however, show obviously purchased items on my iPod but that's it. I have easily transferred items from my iPod touch to my iPad and the iTunes on my PC but cannot get it to go from my iPad to the iPod. I'm thinking I might need to update iTunes on my iPod but I'm not sure how to do that, if that's even the issue.
You can redownload iTunes purchases directly to an iDevice by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
With iTunes 10.3 or later and iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download your previous purchases directly to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer.
Otherwise you will have to do it via iTunes:

When I got a new iPad a week ago, I created a new Apple ID so that all of my other "stuff" wouldn't sync onto my new iPad filling it up! However, I do have an app that I paid for on my on my iPhone that I'd like to put on my iPad, how do I do that?
Sync it to your iPad with iTunes. First check the app store to be sure it is compatible with an iPad (not all iPhone apps are). If it is, first confirm that the app is in your iTunes library by opening iTunes clicking on the apps folder, and checking if the app is there. If it isn't, add it to your library by connecting your phone to iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. Once it's in your library, connect your iPad, click on the name of your iPad in iTunes, go to the Apps tab of your iTunes sync settings, locate the app in question and click "Install" next to the app, then click on Apply at the bottom to sync your iPad.

I've just received the replacement today, and I restored it from a backup I made back in July when my old iPad didn't have iOS 7. And I've updated the new iPad to iOS 7, but I don't know how to transfer the data I have on my old iPad mini in iOS 7 format into the new already backed up iPad mini. Can someone help me?
Restore from iTune Backup
1. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Select Network and input Password>Join
9. Enable Location Service>Next
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Select Restore from iTune Backup
12. You will see picture of USB cable pointing towards iPad
13. Connect iPad to iTune (make sure iTune is on standby)
14. Tap Continue (computer)
15. Restore iPad from Backup (computer)
16. See progress bar with estimated time (computer)
17. See Restore in Progress on iPad
18. See Apple logo
19. See Apple and Progress Bar
20. Slide to Unlock
21. Copying Apps back to iPad (computer)
22. You'll see Loading/Installing/Waiting below the Apps (iPad)
23. Sync Music/Podcast/Movies to iPad (computer)

That error message is usually indicative of a problem with the App Store. If you look through the forums, you'll see that a number of people are experiencing the problem. Try again tomorrow.

Music transfer from laptop to new iPad mini
Hi, how do I transfer my music from my iTunes library to my new iPad mini? I feel I have tried everything they user guide/online help suggests and it's still not working. I have synced it with my iTunes, tried to manage my music manually, used I cloud, synced it manually and over wifi? Also when I buy music on my iPad it doesn't store on there, it goes straight to my phone and laptop? It says my iPad music has "no music". I have had my iPad for over a week now and everything else on it works fine, getting very frustrated now about the music though, please help.
Have you quit the music app completely and rebooted the iPad? I get that now and the "No Music" message and I know damm well there is music on the iPad. If I quit the music app and reboot it will show up. Not saying it will work, but since nothing else's is working, try it.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the music app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
