Transfer e-mails from Microsoft Outlook to my new iMac

I have thousands of e-mails in Outlook that I would like to transfer to my new iMac. Is there a way to do this? This is my work computer so these e-mails are important to have. Any help would be appreciated.

What type of account is your e-mail set up as in Outlook (i.e. POP, IMAP, Exchange)?

  • How do I transfer the music from my iPod to my new IMac computer (95% of the music on it is from CD's I own)?

How do I transfer the music from my IPod to my new IMac computer?  I just changed from a PC to IMac. 95% of the music on it is from CD's I own and the ITunes on the new IMac is only recongnizing the ones I bought off of ITunes.

That is correct.  The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

  • Transferring e-mails from Microsoft Outlook Express to Entourage '08

Ok, so I agreed to help my neighbor with an e-mail issue she was having. Her issue was moving all of her e-mails from her PC (on Outlook Express) to her new iMac (using Entourage '08). It's a rather complicated thing, I'm sure, and I'll try to go over everything as thoroughly, and as simply, as possible.
She has an @comcast e-mail account. She has her @comcast account set with Outlook Express, on her PC, and she is able to receive all incoming e-mails on O.E., but they disappear on the Comcast e-mail page 24 hours after she receives them.
When she purchased her iMac, the Geniuses at the retail store set up her @comcast account to Mail, and from that point, she received all NEW e-mails from her @comcast account, and this time they weren't being deleted from the Comcast page.
She asked me to transfer all of her e-mails on O.E. to Entourage (just for archiving purposes, so Mail isn't over-cluttered with a near decades worth of e-mails).
I've tried several methods, but I can't figure out how to transfer the emails from O.E. to Entourage. After an hour, or two, I realized that her old settings on O.E. were set to erase the e-mails from the Comcast server.
All in all, I need to know..... how to transfer emails from O.E. (which are deleted from the Comcast server) over to Entourage.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Here's some possibilities:
Import Outlook Express (PC) emails into Mail
Mail.app - Importing from Outlook and Outlook Express
Moving emails from Outlook Express to Mac OS X
If you do some more Google searches you may find other possibilities. You may be able to export from OE to Thunderbird on the PC, move the Thunderbird data to the OS X version of Thunderbird, then move from Thunderbird to Mail. The advantage of Thunderbird is that you can export both email and contacts from OE.

  • I am having trouble getting mail from the server that my new iMac is connected to. I have to reboot the system to get Outlook for Mac to access the system. Any ideas?

I am having trouble getting mail from the shaw server that my new iMac is connected to. I have to reboot the system to get Outlook for Mac to access the system and obtain new messages. Any ideas? Its at the point where I have started using the PC again as its less trouble.......

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy

  • Transfer itunes library from my powerbook G4 to new iMac?

    Hi,
Just today I received my brand new 24" iMac, I used setup assistant to transfer the files from my powerbook G4 to the new iMac ( I use an external hard drive connected to my laptop where all the music is located ) and everything seem to transfer well with the exception of my music and videos on itunes... the library is there, but the music and videos didn't transfer ( I get the message that the files could not be found ) What do i need to do to move all my content (almost 180GB) to my new iMac?

I found out how to do it... just connect the external HD to the new iMac and transfer the itunes file and authorize the computer.

  • Best way to transfer disk contents from dead Cube (G4) to new iMac (Intel)

Forgive me if this has been covered before - my search didn't find anything on this particular problem.
My (upgraded, but ancient) Cube finally bit the dust during a power surge/outage at the house. Actually, it was just the power brick that died, but I have ordered a new iMac to replace the Cube. My question is on the best way to transfer the data and info from my old hard drive to the new iMac when it arrives. I am thinking of buying a Firewire or USB enclosure for the Cube's disk (Western Digital 120 GB) and using it as an external drive at the new iMac. Since the Cube is effectively dead, I don't think I can use Migration Assistant, can I? And should this transfer be the first thing I do on the new iMac? I know that many of my apps won't run natively on the Intel iMac, but some will under emulation, so I want to save many of them (Cube was still a G4 PPC). I also want to be able to transfer my iTunes and iPhoto libraries, all my Office files, and other data without having to individually copy them all. Can someone suggest the best course of action?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joe Crabtree

    Hi Joe Crabtree;
Please remember that you are changing from PowerPC to Intel architecture so you will want to install all application on the new iMac and only migrate data files. Migrating applications from PowerPC to Intel is a known way to create problems with your new iMac.

    Hi jkmay01,
In your Acrobat Preferences under Email Accounts, click Add Account>Other
In the Add Webmail Account window, input your email account details
Under Advanced Settings, configure your incoming and outgoing ports and security settings per your email account
Click OK, and then click Add. In the window, click the email account you just added and click "Make Default"
When it's set as the default mail account you'll see a check mark
Let me know if this helps.

  • Import mails from microsoft outllook to mac outlook

Am trying to import mails from MS outlook to MAC outlook and its not importing all msgs/ folders..
    adv why??

You're in luck, Imap and Exchange accounts store their data on the server.
Leave Outlook alone, just add the accounts to Mail and let them synchronize, no import required. You can leave them in Outlook or remove them as you please once everything in Mail is done.

  • Windows 8 Mail from Microsoft setup problem

I have a Dell tablet running Windows 8.1 Professional. I've installed the Universal ("Metro") app "Mail from Microsoft".  I've set up an IMAP account. I'm able to log in, receive and send email. But, the email address for this account
is different than the "sync" account. But, when I go into the account setting page, I can't change the "preferred email address" field -- it's grayed out.  I'm assuming that it's the field that the controls the "from" email
address.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to change it?

    Hi Richard,
    How did you sync that?
When you click the "Sync" as the screenshot below, all your new emails from your mail accounts have been synced to the Mail app. It's not sync one specific account emails.
About "Preferred email address" settings this is only for outlook.com. Allows you to send an email using an Outlook.com alias.

  • How to change "Custom Delivery has failed to these recipients or group from another user" From Microsoft Outlook

By default, the system generated mailbox comes from sender “Microsoft Outlook” like the screen shoot below .Sometimes we might need to change the display name of the system generated mailbox because of some reasons.
The simplest way to change the field of the display name on the red line is to
make this change in the ADSIEdit. Make short of long, here are the steps:
    Open ADSIEdit.msc
Configuration -> Services -> Microsoft Exchange -> Company Name -> Transport Settings
    Right-click “CN=MicrosoftExchange329e71ec88ae4615bbc36ab6ce41109e” to properties.
Locate the display name attribute, it should be Microsoft Outlook, then change it to Desired Display name that users want to see when they receive an NDR.
    Close ADSIEdit.
Up to now, this can satisfy the needs of most people. But in my case, I also want to change the SMTP address ([email protected])
    to be easy to understand.
We can use the below command to get the value of the MicrosoftExchangeRecipientPrimarySmtpAddress
    Get-OrganizationConfig | FL MicrosoftExchangeRecipientPrimarySmtpAddress
To change the value of MicrosoftExchangeRecipientPrimarySmtpAddress is little bit tricky.
If we make any organizational changes by running Set-Organizationconfig command then it reverts back this value to default value Microsoft Outlook.
First we need to change the value by running the below command
    Set-OrganizationConfig -MicrosoftExchangeRecipientEmailAddressPolicyEnabled $False
And then we need to set an appropriate email address from which it can send out NDR’s to the internal users.
    Set-OrganizationConfig -MicrosoftExchangeRecipientPrimarySmtpAddress
    [email protected]
    Note:
    MicrosoftExchangeRecipientEmailAddressPolicyEnabled –
If this parameter is set to
$false, you must manually add new e-mail addresses to the Microsoft Exchange recipient when
e-mail address policies are added or modified. If this parameter is set to
    $true,
every change we did above will be removed.

Yes, i want customize the DSN messages but i just want to edit user will send DSN message to client.
because on my system, fortimail reject the user send mail not from domain. But user system on exchange 2013 send DSN message to client is blank, i just see From Microsoft outlook not a identify user.
    example:
From: Microsoft Outlook  <--- Exchange 2013
but on exchange 2010, they identify a user mailbox to send client.
    From: Microsoft Outlook [mailto:MicrosoftExchange329e71ec88ae4615bbc36ab6ce41109e@xxx]

  • Opening mail in Microsoft outlook

    Hi,
I've noticed this question or ones similar to this have gone unanswered but I am going to try. Is there a way to open .mac mail in Microsoft Outlook in XP. I have a mac at home and I can use the mail app to look at my emails. At work I have to use a windows machine and I hate having to go on to the .mac website and login...etc..
I have tried to set it up myself but I just do not know what server address to put into the setup.
Even if this is impossible, could someone tell me so I don't keep trying forever.
    Thanks
    Jason

I haven't accessed by .Mac account with Outlook but I do access my .Mac account with Outlook Express on my Windows PC at work.
If you have not changed your .Mac account from a .Mac type account to a POP type account with the Mail.app on your Mac, you need to create the account as an IMAP type account in Outlook or Outlook Express. I also use Outlook for my business email account at work but I prefer using Outlook Express for my personal email account to keep things separate.
Select IMAP as the account type.
    Incoming Mail Server: mail.mac.com
    Outgoing or SMTP Server: smtp.mac.com
Account Name for the Incoming Mail Server: The portion of your .Mac email address in front of the @ sign only.
    Password: Your .Mac account password.
For the Outgoing Mail Server, select "My server requires authentication" and also select "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server".
Depending on your company restrictions, the only thing you may have trouble with is using the .Mac Outgoing or SMTP server at work.
