Transfer files to ipad

How do I trasfer a file from my MacBook pro to my iPad 2?

depends on what kind of file it is.
e-mail it
if the app you have to read it on the iPad supports iTunes file transfer, do that
upload it to dropbox or other data storage and then download it.
Without knowing the file types and apps involved can't help much beyond that

how do I transfer files frm iPad to Mac?

Are these files in some app, or, are they photos you've shot on the iPad?
If the former, most apps support iTunes File Sharing, which is the best and fastest way of transferring files. Can you tell us the name of the app, so that I can give you a more precise answer?

  • How to transfer files from ipad to new computer

I am trying to find out how to transfer files, (Music, Videos, Ect.) from my iPad to a another computer. I lost all my files on my computer and it won't let me recover my files from my iPad and save them on my new install.

Honestly there is no real way unless these are items you have purchased from iTunes.  There is an option to Transfer Purchases from iPad but these are only going to be Apps, Music, Videos, etc. that you purchased and downloaded from the App Store/iTunes (you can also do the same by just opening up iTunes on your computer, going to iTunes Store, then going to Purchases, and downloading your purchases).
If they are files that you haven't purchased through the App Store/iTunes then you won't be able to transfer those back to your computer.

  • How to transfer files from ipad to usb flash drive

    Hi Everyone,
How can I transfer docs stored on my Ipad to a USB flash drive or external hard drive? Thank you.
    Donnie

You can't do it directly, you will need to copy them to a computer first e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc., whatever the app that you using supports. The iPad's camera connection kit which has a USB connection only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, you can't copy any content off the iPad with it.

You need to look into using your Dropbox account more. You have to actually download the files onto your device instead of leaving it in the cloud. DB is capable of doing that.

  • Is there a way to transfer files from Ipad Air to memory card or hd?

I know there are different lightning wire to usb or memory card devices available. I want to be able to watch movies w/o having them eat up all of the space on the Air.

No. The Camera Connection Kit (USB and SD Card adapter) if used for import only. There is no way to save to an external device natively.

I also have an iPod Touch. It appears in iTunes but willnot sync... "unknown error 1723"
This is a recent problem. Everything was fine initially, and I don't think that I've done anything to change my setup.

  • My iPad 3 is not charging on my macbook pro mid-2012. It was working yesterday and it is not working now, and I'm trying to transfer files between them. How do I charge my iPad with my macbook without having to be a completely new computer?

I am trying to transfer files between my ipad 3 and my macbook pro mid-2012 and they will just not connect. I connected them yesterday and it worked fine. And i can not air drop these files into my ipad it has to be done through itunes. And i can not afford to buy a new computer. How do i get these two to connect without having to buy a completely new computer?

Computer USB ports, regardless of the computer maker, have a relatively low power output and thus are not good chargers. They will charge but it takes a long time. You should be charging your iPad from wall power, or a more powerful source like an in-car charger.
Buying another computer will not change that.

  • How to transfer files Pages docs in bulk from iPad to Mac

Since the lovely iCloud Drive came out and Yosemite, things have been woefully out of sync with my iPad.  I've posted in a number of places on these boards and even, according to a rep I've been in touch with from Apple Support, an engineer is troubleshooting the problem. I have a LOT of Pages docs I've accumulated in iCloud on my iPad.  I cannot access iCloud through a browser or on my desktop Mac.  In other words, I can view and edit files from my iPad, but I canNOT do the same on my Mac.  If I want to transfer files from my iPad the only way I can think of is
    Open Pages
Tap the arrow up at the top
    Tap send a copy
    Tap ONE selected document
Tap what format to send it in (sadly, I'm using Word b/c I don't trust Pages anymore)
Tap selection of how to send (to ITunes)
Only then can I go to iTunes on my Mac and transfer the file.  I have probably hundreds of docs I want and need and can't afford to have them floating semi-available in the cloud or lost forever.
    A few other details:
    - I cannot access Pages in iCloud through a browser (any browser, any machine, anywhere; I've tried every combination possible, when I log into iCloud and go to Pages, it cycles and then dumps me out to the login screen)
    - I have a few third-party apps which let me look into my iPad and have slightly more functionality than iTunes permits, but none of them permit wholesale basic drag-and-drop a bunch of files and save to another drive.  I know this is b/c the files are ostensibly in iCloud, but
    - Here are other places I've posted about this problem
    can't log in to iCloud.com
Pages under Yosemite not in sync with iCloud Drive and other issues
    Thanks in advance.....

Though no one replied to this topic, I'm updating with what I've learned after spending many hours on the phone with an Apple tech rep who had esacalated to engineers.  There is NO solution.  Docs that are out of sync or unretrievable from iCloud or iCloud Drive, they cannot assist with.  They offered to wipe my iCloud Drive account and reset it, but I wanted them to restore it afterwards.  Just a simple, pull the data off, dump it on an FTP server so I can access it. Nope.  No assistance.  Not their problem.  I have to manually pull ALL the files off my iPad's iCloud account, the ones I can get to and go through this insane 6 step process to get to those docs.  Really disappointed with Apple.  Using MS Word on the iPad and though not perfect...at least the Pages docs won't be lost.

  • How can I transfer files from my mac to my iPad, e.g., mp4 files.  Do I have to use iTunes?

How can I transfer files from my mac to my iPad in an easier way?  I'd like to put some movies on, and I can use iTunes, but is there another way?  I have transferred epub books using Dropbox.  Movies eat up a lot of dropbox space and the iPad has trouble getting them.

USB disk. You still have to go through iTunes.
    Connect device to computer/mac
Select your device in iTunes menu.
    Apps...
At thebottom of the page you will see the app.
Select it and the Add for windows and + for mac
    Hope that helped.
In the long run there is no way to access or uplood data on your device without iTunes unless you JailBrake....

  • How can I easily transfer file (pdf, doc , xls) from one iPad to another. The files are in iBooks collections?

I have just purchased a new iPad2.  We have an iPad and would like to transfer files that are in iBooks as pdf and doc to the new iPad2 without e-mailing each as a attachment.  Any ideas?

If you're syncing the documents from iBooks to your computer using iTunes, you can just sync them onto your new iPad the same way.
If you don't feel the need to use iBooks, you can use a cloud storage app like Dropbox or a file management app like Goodreader.

  • I am new to iTunes. How do I transfer files of Powerpoint slides into iTunes from PC and then into my iPad for use at a meeting

I am new to iTunes and the iOS in general, having just migrated from Android devices. Please advise as to how I can easily transfer files of Powerpoint slides in documents on my PC into iTunes, so that I can use Adobe or other app to get them into my iPAD to be able to use them at a conference. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have had an iTunes account for a while, but never really taken the time to learn to use it.  Now I have two computers, with two different versions of iTunes, with content on one that I want to transfer to the other.  Or I'd like to directly access the older libarary from the new computer.
There are a number of ways you might achieve this. The following article(s) may help you.
Moving your iTunes library to a new computer
Alternatively you might just use home sharing to share the libraries.
Plus I have some videos and audio CD's that I have never imported, and would like to bring them into iTunes and store on an external hard drive to keep from loading up my computer.  I have no idea how to accomplish all of this, and cannot find clear instructions on the website.  Is there a screen where I can access written step-by-step instructions?  I don't have the time or patience to play around and do it by trail and error.  Thanks.
If you place a CD into the CD drive, iTunes will ask you if you want to import it.
If you want iTunes to store content on an external drive, you need to tell it to do so, which you do at iTunes preferences > Advanced.
