It depends on what data you mean. Contacts? Pictures? If you have an Android phone, you most likely have a Gmail account. If your contacts are stored in your Gmail account, it's quite simple to sync them to your iPhone by setting up a CardDAV account:

Your carrier may also be able to do the transfer.
Pictures are going to be easier to transfer to a computer and then to the iPhone.
How are you already syncing your data to your iPad? The same procedures should work with an iPhone.

Switching from Android to Apple

Hi!
A little background about myself. I've been using Android for a long time, only experienced iOS on my iPod Touch 2G, which was years ago. I currently use a Nexus 5 as my personal phone and a Samsung Galaxy S3 for my workline. Due to workplace requirements (some apps are only available on iOS), I've been strongly encouraged to get an Apple phone to work more productively. I've read some online articles regarding "switching", but bearing in mind the WWDC just earlier on, I think I could be in for a very very huge "culture shock" if I do get my hands on an iPhone in the next couple of weeks.
So my question here is: What are the main differences between Android and Apple? Are there any very strong points and any huge drawbacks?

Battery life is average for a smartphone. It will last you all day unless you are a very heavy user.
You will most likely notice no lag as you load more content, however after a few years the hardware will simply be older and slower and you will want to upgrade to a newer phone.
Messaging works great between other Apple devices and pretty standard between other phones, and with the release of iOS 8 in the fall it will get a lot better.
Same thing for App synergy. Apps will have a lot more tools for working together in the fall, but now they are relatively isolated and that is for security. There is good synergy between the built in Apps and they work together well.

Photo Transfer from PC to Apple TV

How do I transfer photos from my PC (windows vista) to Apple TV. Apple TV only seems to recognize photos in Photo Stream and I can not find a way to put existing photos into Photo Stream (only new ones taken after photo stream was set-up).

AppleTV 2 cannot store photos more than transiently.
With Windows you'd need to configure a photo containing folder to view using iTunes under Advanced>Choose Photos to Share (or similar menu option for Windows).
Some apps on Windows used to be able to share to AppleTV2, i'm not sure if that is still the case.

When ever I think of buying Apple Iphone I was worried about my text messages in Android Mobile.
I am afraid I couldn't able to find any application which helps me transfer all my text messages from android to Apple.
I've been changing mobiles and going back to the same android platform mobile bcoz of my messages which i am not able to transfer to Iphone.
**Why can't Apple give provide an option to import text messaes (SMS's) from other platform mobiles where this feature the Users like me who love to use all variety of Platforms.
Anybody Please tell me, how to make this happen.

I have the same problem from iPhone5S to S3. Finally I switched to iPhone 5S from a Samsung Galaxy Android. This device is absolutely flawless. Noticeable faster than my S3 which I never thought was slow. Camera is good too. So far I'm pleased!
Now back to the topic. I have used the program called mobitrans phone transfer to transfer all the data (including SMS and contacts) from my galaxy android to my new iPhone 5S:
I guess it supports all the android and iPhone devices.

I had the Gal note 3 then was given a SGS5 for a replace because the Note3 had issues.
Couldnt stand the screen size so I had to go back to the larger screen.
I decided to go with the iphone 6 plus.
So for those who have made the switch from android to apple for the first time what
has you experience been like.

I truly apologize for your experience at the store. However, we provided the pre order as a way to avoid needing to go to store as inventory availability are subject to change without notice. The pre order secures the device and the other email was for the shipping information. Perhaps you can re order the device online to get the ball rolling for you to get your iPhone 6 plus as desired as opposed to going to the store of which inventory can change depending on the availability.

Go to OWC where you can purchase a suitable enclosure for the drive. You will need an enclosure for a SATA notebook drive. This is assuming the old computer is a MacBook and not an iBook. I make this observation because the first MacBook was released in 2006, not in 2005. If yours is a 2005 model then it's an iBook and uses an ATA interface.
Install the old drive in the enclosure, connect to your new computer. You can then transfer your data.

How do I transfer contacts from Android to iPhone 4s?

I am trying to transfer my contacts from Android (Sony Xperia mini pro) to iPhone 4s, by using my google-account. However, it doesn't seem to work.
I've added my google account as an exchange-account, and checked off the "syncronize contacts". But no contacts appear.
When I log on to iTunes, under "info", I just do not get the option to check off the "Syncronize contacts from", there is no box to check, only for mail.
Anyone know what to do? I really need my contacts!!

In iOS 7.1, the setting has changed locations and is in the same grouping with General, Wallpapers, etc. Also, if you have not set a passcode, you cannot see or set Touch ID. If you restored the phone as new and it still does not provide you the option to set a passcode, and then Touch ID, then it is possible there is a hardware error. Since you purchased the device in Hong Kong, as described before, you can only get a friend/relative to take it to Apple, or you will have to do it yourself. Unfortunately that is what can happen when you need warranty work and have purchased a device outside of the country that you live in.
