  • I cannot get a picture to transfer from lightroom 5 to elements 13 premium to edit?

I have up dated lightroom and have just installed elements and whenever I try to edit by transfering  a copy from lightroom to elements I get a waring pop up that says it cannot read in any format i choose. (psd.tiff etc) ??

When you click Cmd+E a dialog appears and you choose to export toPSE as PSD or tif with Lightroom settings. LR usually adds the word Edit to the original file name.
After you finish in editing in Elements and press Cmd+S to save you should get prompted to overwrite the existing file. You must say yes e.g. to overwrite the file that Lightroom exported to PSE. If you choose a different name or file format then Lightroom won’t know anything about it.
Finally when you Press Cmd+W the image should close in Elements and your PSE adjustments will show up on the Lightroom copy. Use that for print, slideshow or to export a jpeg from Lightroom.

  • Transfer from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows XP to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on the Mac.

I want to transfer from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows XP to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on the Mac. My problem is I have lost my catalog and Windows XP.  I need help.
I have installed the newest Mac version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 (PSE 12 Mac) and it seems to work fine but I have not been able to access my old (XP, PSE6) catalog file.
I am working on a MacBook Air running OSX version 10.9.2.  I have been using Parallels Desktop 9 Switch-to-Mac-Edition™ to run Windows virtual machines.  I had been working for over a year running Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows XP virtual machine.  The XP operating system was updated to 2/28/14.
When I installed Windows 8, the Parallels program initially offered me a choice of virtual machines, Window XP or Windows 8.  I could use the XP version to work with Photoshop Elements 6 as before and thought I could be leisurely about transferring my Photoshop operations to the Mac side.
However, without my knowingly doing anything to dispose of Windows XP, I have “lost” Windows XP.  Perhaps it occurred when I updated to Windows 8.1.  At any rate, now I have access only to Windows 8.1.
To compound the problem the Time Machine backup program for the Mac was not backing up the XP virtual machine files as I had thought.   I have since corrected the settings but I do not have a copy of Windows XP nor of the Adobe Photoshop Elements catalog which I used in the past.
Moreover, I do not have a workable Windows XP disk; the only one I could find is from Dell and it does not load on my MacBook Air.  I see Windows XP disks offered by Amazon for about $30 and have thought about buying a copy to help see if I could  accomplish the transfer of the catalog file to my Mac.  I would use XP only to accomplish this transfer.
I am not completely confident that reinstalling Windows XP would actually enable me to do the transfer and I can foresee potential big problems. Therefore, before taking that step I thought that I would check with you to see if there is a way to find the catalog file and perhaps to modify it so that I could work in the Mac Environment.
I have used Elements to improve and organize over a thousand travel and family photos taken with a pocket size digital camera.  Being a nonprofessional, I have edited mainly by cropping and using Quick Fix but have many hours invested.  Yes,  I still have the originals and probably could have redone much of that work with the time I have invested in trying to find the missing XP and catalog.
I have found two large HDS files (Windows XP.hdd and Windows XP (2).hdd) that were created 7/15/12.  I suspect they may be important but am not sure what they are.   I read that HDS files are commonly Windows media digital rights management files, DRMs.   HDS files may also be used by hierarchical data systems.  Do the names suggest anything about Photoshop?
Can you help me find the catalog and transfer it for use with the Mac Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?

  • Will the Keywords transfer from Lightroom to Bridge?

Will the Keywords transfer from Lightroom to Bridge

In LR once you add a keyword, have that thunbnail highlighted and (if on a Mac) hit the Command Key + the S key and it will send the info so it will be readable in Bridge. Or go to Metadata and click to send metadata to file. (I don't know the shortcut for a PC)  I haven't done it with PSCC yet, but in CS6 I quite often had to close out Bridge and re-start it and the keywords showed up.

  • Why can't I move photos from Lightroom to Elements II for further editing?

Why can't I move photos from Lightroom to Elements II for further editing?

You can. select the image you want to edit externally then :-
In the top toolbar Go to :- Photo, Edit in Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor
If this isn't working got to :-
    Edit, Preferences, External Editing
.....and check that Ps Elements is set there. You are able to set two external editors.
    Good luck!

  • Transfer from Lightroom to Photoshop for executing a picture does not work

Execute a picture from Lightroom to Photoshop das not work. Picture is not opened in Photoshop. What could be the reason?

First: Go to <Edit >Preferences >General tab / Prompts and click on <Reset all Warning Dialogs>.
Then do Edit in Photoshop again. Do you get a dialog box? What does it say?
And which version of Photoshop is this?
If it is not CS6 but a prior version, you have to select <Render using Lightroom>; <Open anyway> doesn't work with CS5 or earlier CS.
The reason is that CS5 has not the latest ACR, but Lr 4.3 has. That means that CS5 cannot open a Raw image sent from Lr 4.3.
The solution is to let Lr 4.3 create the PSD (or TIFF) and send it to CS5. This is done by selecting <Render using Lightroom>.

  • Image transfer from Lightroom 2 to Lightroom 4

If I currently have Lightroom 2 and have all my images stored in it, will installing Lightroom 4 from a new software disc make my current images in Lightroom 2 disappear?  Or do the images automatically transfer?

Just to clarify, your images are NOT stored in Lightroom, they are stored on you hard disk somewhere, where ever you put them. Your edits are stored in Lightroom.
There is nothing magic about what happens when you install and run Lightroom 4. The first time it runs, LR4 upgrades your Lightroom 2 catalog, so you can still work on all of your images (plus new ones) in Lightroom 4. There might be a dialog box or two asking if you want to do this upgrade. You should click on YES or OK or similar.

  • Transfer from lightroom to photoshop with edits to image from lightroom

My images in lightroom are not keeping thier edits that have been made to them when they are exported to photoshop......how do i fix this?

If you're using the Export option under your File menu, you are exporting out of LR and it will no longer track the images.
In order to have LR add your new PSD or TIFF file from Photoshop to your catalog, you have to open it through LR.
Easiest way is to right click the file you want to retouch and select "Edit in Photoshop." LR will create a new .TIFF or .PSD and append the filename with -Edit.
You can set your preference of file type under Lightroom>Preferences>External Editing.
You can also enable "Stack with Original" (my personal preference)

  • Images sent from Lightroom 5 won't appear in Elements 12

About one month ago I've bought and installed on my computer Photoshop Elements 12. However since then I had never launched the programme, which I did for the first time yesterday by trying to send five TIFF shots from Lightoroom 5.4 to Elements (Photo > Edit in > Merge to HDR in Photoshop).
Elements did open but the five images were not displayed. The same exact thing has happened when I've tried to send from Lightroom to Elements six other shots to merge to Panorama.
I'm working on a brand new computer with Windows 7. The operating system and both Adobe softwares have the latest updates installed.
Could the problem be that I've waited too long before launching Elements after having installed it? When the program opened for the first time yesterday it appeared a message which read that the first launch should have happened within 7 days from installation and never during the process I was asked to input the software's serial numbers (is this the way it's supposed to be?).
Do you think that I should uninstall Elements and start from scratch all over again?

Have you set up the PSE12 Editor correctly in Lightroom?
If not click Edit >> Preferences from the Library and then choose the External Editing tab. Then click on the choose button under the additional editor section and navigate to the editor.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12
Make sure you choose the application and not a shortcut (see image below) and select 8 bit tiff as your pref (not 16 bit images)
You can’t use merge to HDR with Elements. That function only works with Photoshop CC or Creative Suits. But you can choose a thumbnail in the LR Library and open it for editing in PSE12 by pressing Ctrl+E or using Edit In >> Photoshop Elements 12 Editor.

  • Photo Layers won't open in element 12, from Lightroom 5

I have tried exporting photos into elements as layers (From Lightroom) , once elements opens, nothing is showing. Curious if I am doing something wrong. If I just open the photos in elements and put them as layeres  manually, it works fine. I was just under the assumption I could do it from light room as well.(the option is given hence the assumption) just as a sidenote I did change output from 16-8 bit in preferences, that didn't fix anything, just read that on another site

Ok, what is your operating system and the exact Lightroom version...
Also what does it show in Preferences under External Editing:

  • Elements won't open when trying to edit from Lightroom

I was trying to move two photos from Lightroom to Elements to edit.  I click on the photos, tell it to edit in Elements and it goes thru the process, says complete, but Elements will not open????  I recently changed the default editor to CS5 with the alternate as Elements.  Any ideas?
    Thanks

Oops, answered my own question.  Seems when I set up preferences, I goofed and somehow didn't get the correct app.  Sorry

  • Exporting photographs from Lightroom Mac to Photoshop Elements Six Mac

I have Lightroom photographic software, running on a Mac i-book (with intel processor). I have been sucessfully and conveniently direcly exporting photographs from Lightroom to Elements 4, using the export button and choosing the 'Open in Elements 4' option in the post-processing option.
I have recently updated my photographic software to Elements 6 (for Mac). Everything seems fine but I am no longer able to see or introduce a post processing option when exporting from Lightroom that would allow me to open the photograph in Elements 6.
Could you please advise me how this might be achieved?
    Many Thanks
    S.J.A

In the export dialog go to Post processing. In the after export pop-up, choose "Open in Other application". Then click on the Choose button. Navigate to your app (probably somewhere in the Applications Folder) and select it. You should be able to select any app on your harddisk, including elements. You should also be able to set up Elements as a secondary editor by going to Preferences->External Editing. This will allow you to simply control-click on your image and select edit in ... and a copy will be created, added to the Lightroom database and sent off to your external editor. This way you won't have to go through all of the steps you go through now.

  • Opening jpg in photoshop from lightroom

I have Lightroom 4.2 and Photoshop CS6. If I'm viewing a photo in LR and select edit in CS6, the photo doesn't open in camera raw, even though I have CR selected in photoshop preferences as my preference. Is this normal?

You cannot open directly into ACR from Lightroom.  Lightroom and ACR perform the same functions.  In the transfer from Lightroom to Photoshop the design is for ACR to simply interpret the adjustments made in Lightroom, and apply those adjustments to the image that is opened in Photoshop.  Technically speaking, ACR isn't needed for anything else because it is simply a duplication of effort.  So if you want to return or enter ACR, you have to do as Rick indicated, and double click on the smart object in the layers panel.

  • I lost CS2 when I upgraded to OSX Yosemite.  I want to install Lightroom. Can I transfer the Lightroom 5 software to an SD card and then download from that to my computer?

I have a 2009 21.5 iMac with malfunctioning internal disk drive. I lost CS2 when I upgraded to OSX Yosemite.  I want to install Lightroom. Can I transfer the Lightroom 5 software to an SD card and then download from that to my computer?

you need the installation files, not copies of installed programs.
