Transfer from .Mac to iWeb

My iWeb websites were deleted when I switched to my new iMac.
However, the websites are published still on .Mac.
Does anyone know if you can export/transfer your webpages from .Mac to iWeb so that I can edit them ?
Or, am I outta luck,
Avo

Hi Avo,
Hate to be the one to tell you this but no, you can't transfer anything from .Mac or any other server back into the iWeb application. You will have to rebuild the sites, copying and pasting wherever you can.
For the future, iWeb puts your site data into a single Domain file kept in your Home folder Library, Application Support>iWeb>Domain. Back up this file often to a trustworthy location.
Sorry for the bad news; depending on the nature of your sites, creating a new site and linking back to the old might be something to consider.

Hi! i need to transfer from mac iCloud contacts info to galaxy note3. how do i do it? Thanks

If the Galaxy allows importing from vCards files....
You can export your contacts - go to the Contacts page at icloud.com (use computer's browser), click the top contact to select it then shift-click the bottom one to select all. Click the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.

  • File Transfer from mac to PC... help?

I am trying to transfer files from my G4 OSX 10.2 to a pc windows 7.  They are mostly Jpg images and some word & excel docs.  Do I need conversion software or just copy over via my usb?  Thanks

Simply copy the files on a windows formatted (FAT32) usb stick from mac to pc. If you have office installed on your pc it works like a charm.

  • Is transfer from Mac to Windows via external HD possible?

I have been using my mums macbook pro and now I'm moving to town for school and only have a HP laptop can I transfer my music over to an external HD from mac to windows and authorise as well? I will visit often and want to have my purchased itunes music on both. If I buy a song on my HP will it update the mac one automatically or do I need to use my external HD every time? And lastly if it does update automatically, what about music not purchased on itunes, will it transfer those as well? I am a mac noob so please keep your answers easy
Thanks any help would be appreciated.

    Yes it is possible.
Connect the external drive to the MacBook Pro
Copy the entire iTunes folder from the MacBook Pro to the external drive.
Open the iTunes folder on the external drive
Rename the file iTunes Library as iTunes Library.itl
Delete the files iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Library Genius.itdb
Connect the external drive to the HP laptop
Install iTunes if you haven't already, close it if running
Click the icon to start iTunes and immediately press and continue to hold down the shift key until asked to choose or create a library
Click Choose, navigate to the iTunes folder on the external drive and select the file iTunes Library.itl
Authorise the laptop to your iTunes account
If you are based in the US then music purchases made on one machine can be set to automatically download to your other libraries and any iOS devices. The rest of the world, at present, is limited to downloading apps and iBooks purchased from the store. Coming soon is iCloud which will, for a fee, also allow non-store-purchased music to be backed up and synced to your computers or iOS devices via the cloud.

  • Music will not transfer from Mac (OSX 10.9.3) to iPhone via cloud

Music will not transfer from my Mac (OSX 10.9.3) to my iPhone except for music purchased through iTunes. Hard sync doesn't seems to work as I use iCloud. Suggestions?

Only music purchased from the iTunes store is available to download from iCloud unless you subscribe to iTunes Match.  Also, you can sync music using iTunes on you Mac even if you are using iCloud for syncing your contacts, calendars and other data.

  • Data transfer from mac to pc using ipod

I need to transfer some data files from my MacBook to my PC using my 30GB ipod. I get all the files copied onto my ipod from my mac with no problems. I have my ipod set to be used in disk mode.
Once I plug it into my pc, it tells me that I need to format the drive. How can I successfully transfer data from my mac to my pc using my 30GB ipod?
Someone told me to go ahead and format the drive/ipod on my pc and then plug it into my mac, place the files in the ipod and then I should be able to access the files having the ipod plugged into my pc. I started to try this, but it messes up my ipod to where I need to reset my ipod to factory settings using, my macbook.
Would it be possible to reset my ipod to factory settings using itunes on my pc and then try plug the ipod into my macbook and copy the files over that way?
Please let me know what you have found out. I need to backup all my files and get them on to a second computer. I have 25GB worth of home videos that makes it so that I need to use my ipod, other wise another device would do the trick.

Yes. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's what you were supposed to do in the first place. The wonderful thing about OS X: It'll speak HFS+, FAT32, and it'll even understand NTFS (but it can't write to it... yet). Oddest thing: XBox 360 will read HFS+, but WinXP/Vista won't... curious, isn't it?

  • ITunes Movie Rentals disappear from iPhone a day after transfer from Mac

OK, this has happened to me twice now. Here's the scenario:
I have a long, international flight. I rent multiple movies so that I can have films to watch both to and from the destination.
I browse for the movies on my Mac (OS X Lion, current release)
I rent four movies on my Mac.
I then transfer them, one at a time, to my iPhone--a 4S with 5.0.1. (I do this because in earlier releases, a movie would sometimes disappear if I tried to sync more than one movie at a time).
After it's done, I see four movies listed on myiPhone in the Videos app.
About 2 days later, I look at iTunes and decide to load some audiobooks. I look at the Movies tab and it shows only one rental movie on the iPhone, the last movie transferred. The other three movies are nowhere: they do not show as on the Mac or on the Phone.
I check the phone. Only the one movie is present.
At no point did I start to play any of the movies. It appears that the first three rental movies transferred disappeared from the phone as if they expired 24 hours after the transfer.
And--just to make it fun--this is the second time the exact same scenario has played out. I had a long international flight at the end of September and on iOS 4 the same thing happened before that flight. All but the last movie transferred vanished from the phone after a day.
Anyone else run into this issue?
FYI: I have contacted support to see if I can get a credit for the "lost" rentals. But as of now I'm afraid to transfer rented movies to my phone.

Yep.  Me too. Getting ready to fly overseas. My iTunes on my computer says they are on my iPad, but they aren't. How does that work when I can't 'find them' anywhere on my iPad?
    3 rentals lost.

  • My computer crashed. How do I copy my page from .Mac TO iWeb!

I had to re-install (and delete everything) my PowerBook G4. Now my .Mac-webpages are still stored on the web, but I can do anything with them because they're "stuck" in .Mac. Does anyone know how, f.ex. by copying the whole page back, I fix this problem?

The content of the Domain.sites file is in a format other than the format used for the published pages, and iWeb doesn't include a feature to import published web pages. There isn't any easy method of recreating the Domain.sites database from the output, and there may not be one at all.

  • File transfer from Mac to Mac-unable to complete

I have had the new airport extreme base station for 4 days now, and I have yet to see speeds over 1mbps. I have tried almost every channel on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Both my Mac Pro and Macbook Pro(just got that too) are 802.11n-enabled. They are on the same network with one airport base station, and I have a transmit rate of around 114-130, and an RSSI rate of -59 to -79 on almost every channel. When transferring a file from one mac to another, the transfer rate starts out at about 1mbps, and then fluctuates from .5-1mbps, and then eventually slows to a halt and never finishes.
I have a cordless phone that operates at 5.8GHz, so I am using 2.4GHz on the airport. I don't know what else to do...this is not operating according to specs at all. I am reading that people are getting up to 16mbps...and I have not gotten anywhere near that. Can anyone help? What could be wrong?

In situations like this it really is a case of taking it back to basics and testing different things to rule out possible causes.
First thing I would try is check around your property for any other wireless devices that may conflict with the AEBS.
Is your AEBS in a different room to the MP and MBP?
Also I would try the transfer test again on the N side but this time unplug your 5.8GHz phone from both the telephone socket and power to see if speed increases.
What about your neighbours, do they have wireless phones or Wireless networks in use that could maybe conflict with yours? If they have a network, find out what channel it's using and configure your AEBS to use a frequency 3-4 channels away from your neighbours.
One more possible reason for bad wireless network performance could be a bad electrical power supply in your home. I read a report about an ADSL customer in the UK being supplied with a brand new Flat Screen TV because the power supply in his old one knocked out his ADSL connection and those of his neigbours in a radius of 200m from his home.
One last thing, I take it transfer speeds via ethernet are fine? This is purely just a problem with the wireless speeds?

    Jason

  • Transfer from Mac to iCloud does not work

    Hello,
I failed to transfer any data from my Mac (OS X 7.3) to the iCloud. I use Microsoft Outlook (Calendar, Mail and Contacts). The Calendar and the Contacts are mirrored to the local iCal and address book. However, nothong gets synchronized to iCloud. ICal and address book are empty (exept for the Apple and my address). I would need to transfer these data to an iPad and iPhone I'm planning to buy.
I also cannot transfer any other data (including photos) to the iCloud. Only "Search my Mac" works.
    What am i doing wrong?
MobileMe also does not work, I cannot log in with my vaild Apple ID. Since this will shut down sooon I'm not concerned but maybe these things are connected?
    Regards,
    Axel

Microsoft Outlook is not compatible with iCloud as Microsoft have not yet added support for the industry standard CalDAV and CardDAV protocols that iCloud and other similar services uses.

  • Transfer from Mac to PC

    Hi
I would like to transfer a video from my Mac so a friend can watch it on their windows PC viar a USB flash drive, hpw do I format it to make this possible?
    Thanks

This is an easy fix - Plug in the usb drive into your mac. Open Disk utility. Select your USB drive, go to the 'erase' section. Under fomat, select 'MS-DOS' Name the drive whatever you want. Then press erase. It will now be formatted for both Mac and PC. Note. This will erase all data already on the usb drive, you might want to copy it to one of your computers before you erase the disk

  • Transfer from mac to mac

I have bought a new MacBook and was transferring everything from my old Mac. I had decided to on my new Mac to have more ram and less Hard drive as I am storing on external and in the cloud. When I used Migration assitant it told me there was not enough disk space. I now have an isssue where Itunes is not showing itself on my new Mac as it does on my old. It tells my my new mac is not authorised. I do I authorise it and how can I transfer files?
Thank you hope thats not to confusing
    Regards
    Iain

iTunes Store: Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420 - and another helpful post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17828050
iTunes application window (not Finder or a browser) > menus at top >  Store menu > drag down to Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes access this option from the Advanced menu).
Image of where this is in iTunes 11: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20585561
Typically you use Migration Assistant to move items from an old computer to a new one.
OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mavericks - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5872
If the new computer has too little space you may beed to do selective moving.  I have never use MA so I don't know if there is a selective mode.  Alternatively, hrere's how to move an iTunes library.  However, since an iTunes library is often what takes up a lot of space you may have to be even more selective.
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168
Windows users see tip at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18879381
If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

  • IPod music transfer from Mac to PC?

Hey everyone. So my mac is having some issues and wont load, so Id like to transfer all of my music from my Mac iTunes to my PC iTunes, if I plug in my iPod into my PC will all of the music thats currently on it get erased from it or will it transfer over to the PCs iTunes and then reformat into the PC format for the iPod? Any help would be great, thanks!

If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 or MacDrive (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.
Otherwise, it's a no go because without such software, Windows cannot recognize a Mac formatted iPod.
