DESCRITPION
I was trying to transfer some files from the Desktop in my computer to an external USB drive.
RESULTS
After starting to transfer the files, the external hard drive I got the following panels:
The external hard drive was unmounted and disappeared from the Desptop., and the Disk Utility could not find the drive. The drive external power was also turned off. I had to re-power the external drive to mount it, and rebooted my computer.
This was the only way to have the external drive to be seen by the Disk Utility. The external drive is a Calvary CADA-SA2 (RAID1).
EXPECTED RESULTS
The second panel was expected when the hard drive was disconnected.
This application of the forum now does not let me to past item. I does not let me import anything from my computer. It sucks.
The compuyter i'm using is a Mac Pro with OS X 10.7.3. Similar problem occured with a Mac Book Pro laptop, using the same OS X.
I have several pages that include the SYSTEM INFO requested. That I can send you if you send me your email address. I can also then add my pdf file thatalso includes CRASH LOG, although I don't think is applicable.

Well, if you are not doing a complete back up of your system, you can simply drag images to an external drive - that will create a copy there and leave the original in place.

You say without using the internet, then the only way left is to use a USB connection to itunes on your computer.
If you have a pdf reader app on the ipad (you must if you hope to read pdf files on the ipad), then go into the Apps tab in iTunes (for your device) and find the pdf reader app in the list. If there, then drag a pdf file from the mac to the panel in iTunes and then sync. Once on the ipad, you should be able to open the pdf reader app and access the pdf file.

Transfer music files from internal drive to external drive

Prior to purchasing a new computer, I transferred the music files and library.xml file from my old PC to an external drive. Now I want to transfer the music to my new PC.
The issue I have is that the Library.xml file points to the music on the F: drive and I want to put the music on my D: drive. I tried to do a find/replace within the .xml file, but the file is so large (20MB) that it takes forever to open and do a find/replace.
Is there an easier way to transfer my music files to my new PC and use my Library.xml? If so, how? I have spent countless hours organizing my Library so I don't want to start all over.

Well, a really easy way to do it would be to simply force windows to use a different letter for your drives. Where you currently have your music on D:, you could tell Windows to start calling that drive F:. Of course, this could cause problems if anything like the registry, programs, or shortcuts refer D:. To make this change, right-click "My Computer" and choose Manage. You can do this right in the start menu of Windows XP. A new window will open. Select Disk Managment on the left and all your drives should show up on the right. Right-click the drive you want to change the letter of and choose "Change Drive Letter and Paths". I can't verify if these options exist on XP Home, but it works on my XP Pro.
I'm running into a similar but more complicated problem, which I will post somewhere if I can't find a solution. I have my library split between two drives and now I want them all on one new drive I bought. Ick!

Could I copy the file from my Mac onto a Seagate Go-Flex external Hard Drive and transfer it to my PC without any reformatting?

Both the Mac and the PC will read and write to a FAT32 disk, so it should be fine. I can't see how an external drive formatted FAT32 will caude a problem for the Mac - I've used many such drives over the years and never had a problem. Connect the drive to the Mac, copy the file to the drive, eject from the Mac (don't forget that part), connect to the PC and copy it on.
But - FAT32 will not handle files larger than about 4GB (a bit less, actually), so if the file is bigger than that, you'll have to find another solution - connect via a network for example

Its really strange. Even the small images under
canvas art sometimes they appear
sometimes they dont. When I replace the servlet
.class file they appear for a little while and then
it stops. Click on the small images to see the largeFrom this latest post of yours, it doesn't seem clear that you know whether it's really a MySQL problem with storing the images or not. This sounds like the symptoms of the problem and that you have somehow determined (whether correctly or erroneously) it to be a database problem. Have you really checked your database to see what it has actually stored there?

When traveling recently I was unsuccessful at transferring a file from my mac to my iphone so I could email it (there was no wifi available for my mac)... I tried bluetooth and my USB connection... couldn't figure it out.

If you create a wi-fi network using your MacBook and then have the iPhone join that network, you can use one of the file transfer apps to copy the file from your MacBook to the iPhone.
