I would like to transfer photos from a PC to an iPad Air 2. I would like to avoid iTunes if possible. I have been told that if I put my photos on an SD card i can use a "Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader" to read the photos on my iPad and then copy them to the iPad. When I try this the iPad 2 brings up my photo app but does not show any of the photos on the SD card. Am I doing something wrong or is this not a working solution to the transfer of photos?
You have to trick the iPad into thinking those photos are off a camera
Make a folder named DCIM on the SD card.
Put your photos into that folder.
All photos must have a file name of 8 characters....DSC_2345.jpg for example
You're basically mimicking the file structure a digital camera uses. -

How to transfer music, movie and photo from my iPhone 4 to my iPad air and vice versa
You can copy them via your computer's iTunes - you can't connect an iPad to iPod for direct transfer, though if you iOS 5 set up on both devices and iCloud enabled you might be able to re-download some of your iTunes purchased music on the other device.

How do I transfer photos from iPad Air to pic in icloud?
How how do I transfer my photos from my IPAD AIR to my PC In icloud?
You can try setting up iCloud on your PC as explained here: https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html, and enabling photo stream on both your iPad (Settings>iCloud>Photos>My Photo Stream>On) and on the iCloud control panel for Windows (check Photos, click Options next to Photos and check My Photo Stream). Unfortunately, this doesn't always work on a PC. If it doesn't work for you, you can import them using your usb cable as explained here: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support.

How do I transfer all my data from my original iPad 1 to my new iPad Air?
How do I transfer all my data from my original iPad 1 to my new iPad Air?
Do a full sync and backup of your one. I use iTunes for all my backing up. Then unplug the one and plug in the Air. Go through the setup process and when you have the choice to 'set up as new or restore from backup' chooose the the restore and your air will be a near clone of your One. You will need to reset up wifi and website passwords, but the data should be there.
Once you are sure the Air has all you need on it, you can go into the settings and 'erase all content and settings' which puts your One back to the 'out of box' state to you can sell it if you want. -
Hi, I'm upgrading from my iPad2 to the iPad Air. What is the most painless way to transfer all my data from one device to another?
I have iannotate, which I've just found out is no longer syncing via iCloud (I thought that's what I was paying all that storage for) and a lot of catalogued PDF's on it. Is there any other way besides plugging it in to my old Mac via iTunes to do the transfer?Favor the route via iTunes and local storage on the computer. MUCH faster than any cloudy backup, no matter the speed of your Internet connection. No network beats the speed of a hard drive. Just make sure there's enough room on the computer before you start, must contain all that's on the iGadget.

How do I transfer all my data from an iPad Air wifi 32 GB to a brand new iPad Air 2 64GB?
I received right now a brand new iPad Air2 wifi 64 GB. How do I transfer ALL MY DATA from another iPad Air wifi 32 GB ?
Back up your old one. I use and prefer iTunes, but back up all the data, etc.
Then unplug it. Plug your new one in and go through the setup steps. When you see the option to set up as new or restore from the backup you just made, choose that and your new iPad will be a near clone of the old one.

has step to step instructions.
If you are going to get rid of your old iPad, read this before you do so, just to make sure you're not inadvertantly selling someone a brick

Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.

Do I have to restore the old ipad2 first, before I begin with the "hello" screen on the new iPad Air? How do I permanently transfer photos, video & TV shows from iphone 5 to ipad air?
My 16gb iphone 5 iOS 7.1 is advising my storage is almost full. I've just purchased a 32gb Ipad air wifi iOS 7.1 and would like to permanently transfer my photos & video and downloaded tv shows from the iphone to the ipad, then delete said photos, video and tv shows off my iphone without it then deleting off my ipad. Can this be done? By what method?
In regards to the photos, I started doing the transfer via the shared stream option but realised if I then deleted off my iphone it would delete off my other devices i.e. ipad, as well. In regards to the TV shows I've managed to sync the iphone and ipad so that both devices are displaying all TV shows - I think I did this through itunes? - but I'm hesitant to now delete off my iphone before confirming they'll stay on the ipad.
Apologies for the convoluted questioning...I've tried researching this myself but just can't seem to get my head around it.
Thanks very much in advanceuse icloud to sync the images to and delete them locally
or import them to the computer and sync them with the other device
and delete them after you import them on the device where you don't want them -
