Transfer iphone 4 to 4s new icloud account
I bought my first Iphone off craigslist. I was unaware how to set it all up so I made an icloud account under the other owner. I now want to transfer all this info to my newer (used) iphone 4s. I want an ENTIRELY new icloud account as well. How do I do this?

What does that even mean? Did you actually use the previous owners AppleID to make an iCloud account?
An iCloud account is tied to the AppleID you used to create the iCloud account. As long as you used your own AppleID when you first made the iCloud account, then just use that same iCloud account on any and all devices you own now or in the future.

To migrate your phone to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep on the phone, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; your other devices won't be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted . Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data to the new account.

When you migrate a MobileMe account to iCloud your email is transferred to the iCloud server, including all folders on the server.
However your signature says you have 10.6.8 - is this correct? (If not please amend it to prevent confusion.) Snow Leopard is not compliant with iCloud but you can set Mail up manually to access your iCloud email. Please see this page:

Delete all back ups on MacBook and create new back up. Restart his MB and attempt to restore again. Do not forget to erase your iphone 5 before restore.

No. All iTunes purchases are forever tied to the account used to make the purchase.

Before Mountain Lion comes out I want to create a new iCloud account because I don't want to use the @me.com email that I created with my current iCloud account. I want to create an entirely new account with a new @me.com email address. I use iCloud to back up my iPhone, iPod and am signed into it on my mac. Basically I want to back up my iPhone and iPod to a new iCloud account and not lose any data. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks so much for any help.Before you connect to a new PC, make sure that autosync is disabled in Edit/Preferences/Devices, otherwise your phone will be wiped during the following sync.
Then back up manually:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to the new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer the purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

My iPhone 4 has never backed up to anything, the account I started it with I never used so I was never able to verify it or anything. I now have a new icloud account and I want to backup my phone before I get a new one in a couple of days. If I delete the old account will I lose my photos or will they still be on my phone (remember they've never been backed up)? Thanks!
You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can just stop using it. If your photos are still on your phone now, then I suggest you do back them up. Transfer them from the phone into your iPhoto Library. iCloud only backs up your Camera Roll automatically. But the Camera Roll only contains new photos that were taken but not yet transferred using iTunes.

How to transfer content to new iCloud account?
I have a friend who had her iPhone with the iCloud account setup with her son's Apple ID/account.
The son has been kicked out.
The iPhone/Apple ID associated with the iCloud account as well as all the things that go with the Apple setup are all associated with the son's iTunes/Apple, iCloud account, but she has the phone under her name, etc.
How does one transfer all of the music, pictures, e-mail configurations, settings, apps, etc. EVERYTHING that was purchased and part of the iPhone content, even though it is associated with the son's account?
Step by step would be appreciated.
THe biggest issue as experienced in the past performing similiar tasks is when you plug the phone into a computer, it syncs with iTunes, and need to know how to associat that as an additional proble (for the new account).
Appreciate any help.There are two issues you are discussing : itunes store account and icloud accounts - they are different. As for itunes store purchases, they are forever associated with the ID used to buy them. You cannot transfer those purchases to any other account.
As for icloud, to get the Apple data (contacts, reminders, etc.) to another account do the following. Note that for emails, its easiest to use a computer, go to the icloud account in the Apple Mail client and drag all emails to another account or location on the Mac.
Moving Apple data from one icloud account to another...
When connected to the account you want to GET data from, Go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.
When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.
After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to this new account.
Note that this only affects the "Apple data" like contacts, calendars, reminders, etc. Many third party apps also use iCloud to store data files there. These files may be lost in the process, unless the apps also keep the data locally on the device.
NOTE: Photos in the photo stream (if you use it) will not transfer to the new account. It is advised that you save the photos to a computer before performing the account switch. -

You can not transfer apps (or any other item except data) from one account to another, you will need to use the old account in order to update anything bought or downloaded from it.
For the data just save it all back to your Mac and then migrate it to the new account. -
I have given my 4s to my wife, she has an iCloud account which uses her work address, she has now left the company and we want to start a new iCloud account, trouble is we cannot delete the old account, we have created a new iCloud account but the iPhone won't let us log into it as it only recognises the old version, we can't access her email anymore to reset the account. Have tried all online help. We restored the phone through iTunes
Ah thanks Razmee however there is NO option to delete the iCloud account in settings!

How do I set up a new iCloud account separate for my iphone and ipad?
I have an old iCloud account for my iphone and when I bought an ipad last year I used the same iCloud account. I now have no storage left and my iphone won't back up. I want to upgrade my iphone soon but don't want to lose all my photos, contacts, etc.
I have spent the last hour trying to create a new iCloud account so I have two separate ones for my iphone and iCloud, to no avail. Apple don't seem to have any information I submit and I am just going round in circles updating passwords! And re-enters new account details. I haven't received an email registering my new iCloud account.
Can anyone help! Can I create two iCloud accounts? Why can't i! Even though I am using two separate email addresses.If it's stuck on verifying it's because she never responded to the verification email that Apple should have sent to the primary email address she used for the Apple ID she set it up with. She should check her inbox and spam/junk folder for this email and click on the Verify Now link to verify the account. If the email isn't there, she can go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under her Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.
Or, you can just delete the account (which is a misnomer since until verified the account isn't really created). -
If my husband add a new iCloud account to his iPhone 5, will he be "locked out" because he's using a new Apple ID to do it? Does he have to use a new Apple ID to create a new iCloud account? He set up his phone using my Apple ID because we didn't know any better. Now we want to separate calendars/contacts, but are afraid of the 90-day lockout.

You can change the Apple ID without any problem. On his device, go to Settings > iCloud > Delete account and login with his Apple ID so he'll get his information. iCloud needs an Apple ID, so if he hasn't got one, he must create an Apple ID > http://appleid.apple.com
When you delete the iCloud account, all the information will be deleted, so I recommend you to turn off each service before deleting iCloud -

I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

My phone shows my name plus iCloud old iCloud account. My kids' new iPads show my name plus my new iCloud account. But both accounts show my children as "family" associated with them.
Basically, I need to change the iCloud account on my phone to my new one. But I'm not given that option.

When I got my new iPhone and was trying to switch everything over I accidentally set up a new icloud account with one email and had one on my old iphone with another account. Does anyone know how I can merge the two accounts?
You cannot merge Apple IDs but you can go to Settings > iCloud and 'Delete Account'. When prompted to turn off documents and data, choose the only option which is Delete from my iPhone, but on the other prompt for Contacts, Calendars, etc you can choose 'Keep on my iPhone' Then once the Account is Deleted form the iPhone, log back in with the correct Apple ID and choose Merge when prompted. This will merge your data from this iPhone with that iCloud account effectively putting your devices on the same account.
