Transfer iphone photos to aperture

I just got the iPhone 4S and want to transfer my iphone 3GS photos to aperture so I can edit them and put them on my iPhone 4S.
Problem is, since upgrading to iOS5 (I sense this is the problem), APerture won't recognize my 3GS or my 4S for that matter, as cameras.
How can I get Aperture to recognize my phones so I can import?
Thanks!

I was having a similar, but not identical problem.  I just moved from a 3G to 4S, and the automatic Aperture photo import process now seemed to be broken, though I could still do it manually.
*Still using Aperture 2.1.4 (haven't had cause to upgrade thus far)
*iTunes 10.5 (latest as of this post), set to sync the phone w/Aperture
*OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
*Not using iCloud/Photo Stream syncing form the phone; I am sticking with the sync cable until I get Lion
I've found that Aperture only mounts the phone & prompts for import of new photos when I first connect the phone using the cable.  Subsequently hitting "sync" in iTunes while the phone is connected will not mount the phone in Aperture.  However, it's possible to manually import photos to Aperture by hitting "Import".  The only caveat to this is that Aperture will not see/prompt for the photos taken since the sync cable was plugged in.   I.e., if you take a new photo with an unconnected phone, connect the sync cable, decline Aperture's offer to sync that new photo, then take a 2nd photo while connected, then tell Aperture to doa  manual import from the phone, it won't see the 2nd photo.  You must eject the phone from iTunes / disconnect and reconnect the cable for Aperture to see the 2nd photo.

  • Error -50 - Syncing iPhone photos with aperture

    Hi,
    The facts:
    OS - 10.7 Lion
    iTunes - 10.4
    iOS - 4.3.5
So when I updated to Lion and iTunes 10.4 my photos from Aperture will no longer sync with my phone.  I get the error (-50), which to my understanding is a time out error.  Now when I sync with iPhoto it works, no error.
Any help with getting my iPhone to sync with Aperture would be appreciated.
    Rob

Found this link that works the first time you sync, but give me the same error the next time I sync.

  • Transfer iphone photo library folders to computer

Instead of syncing all of my photos on my iPhone at once over to my Macbook Pro in order to transfer my photos over to iPhoto, I would like some sort of semblance in doing so. I have all my photos on my iPhone organized in different folders in my iPhone photo library. How do I transfer my folders (pictures in them) over to my computer so that I don't have to reorganize each and every photo once they've been synced to my computer?

    1. The photo library on your phone is not the same as your iPhoto Library. For a start, thoe images have been compressed to a very small size to save space on the device and you're missing versions, metadata and so on.
    2. You would be better restoring from a back up.
    3. You can get these versions off your phone with an app like http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/36028/iphone-photo-transfer . There are others. Search on MacUpdate
    4. Once you've recovered them to the computer you'll need to create a new Library to import them.

  • Why can't I import gps data from iPhone photos in aperture 3

I have an iPhone 4 (it's already an old model!) and why can't i still not import GPS-data from photo's on my iPhone 4 in Aperture...
Importing photos from the iphone just goes fine...

    Richie:
But do you see the GPS of the iPhone data in Meta data section of the Inspector (set to a preset that shows GPS), as Frank Caggiano asked?
If the images do import the EXIF data, then you should be able to lift and stamp the GPS coordinates. I do that freuently.
Select on of your iPhone images and lift the sata
In the lift&stamp HUD deselect everything but the GPS coordinates, like this.
If no GPS-coordinates do appear in this setting, then your iPhone images do not have the EXIF info required, and you may need to check the iPhone settings.
If you see the EXIF data, then you just need to select the DSLR images that were taken at the same location and you can stamp the EXIF data to the DSLR images.
And after that you should be able to see their locations in the Places view.

How do i transfer pictures previously taken on my iphone 4s to my new ipad and old pc comptuer

Several options.  You could import them to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) then sync them to your iPad.  You could also send them wirelessly using an app like PhotoSync.  You can set up iCloud syncing on your computer if you meet the system requirements (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/), then turn on Photo Stream to sync future photos, but only photos taken after enabling Photo Stream are uploaded so it won't transfer existing photos.

  • Transfer iphone Photo Album to PC

Hi there, I have an iphone 4s and have taken over 2000 photos. I have managed these photos in different albums. How do I transfer 1 album of 40 photos (not the 2000) to a PC?
    Thanks!

With that many pictures you should be importing all your pics to your PC

  • Transfer iPhone photos to computer

hello. how do i transfer photos taken from my iphone to my computer (without emailing them one by one). thanks.

When your iPhone includes photos in the Camera Roll, it is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer. You need to import the photos from the Camera Roll with your computer as is done to import photos from any other digital camera.

  • How to I transfer iphone photos to pc

What is the best way to transfer photos on iphone/ipad to a pc?

I prefer just plugging in the iPhone to the PC and mounting it as an external drive.  You can then browse the phone and grab any of your photos from the DCIM folder.
If the PC is your primary computer, then I completely agree with sberman that the best way to do it is via iTunes, but if you are simply looking to get the photos, the mounting as an external drive is far easier.

  • Importing iPhone photos into Aperture?

Hey, I moved my iPhoto Library into Aperture and consolidated or whatever it's called, so I've made the full move I think to Aperture, since iPhoto is really bloated and I like Aperture more, so I deleted my iPhoto Library.
Now in iPhoto, it sort of made it easy for my to just plug in my iPhone and import any new photos, ignoring whatever I already imported, and it would save whatever photos I took to a corresponding date/event, and then it would also put those photos in a smart album for my iPhone.
Now I'm still new to Aperture and I want to know how can I plug in my iPhone and import new pictures into Aperture which would put it as a new event, ignoring whatever I already took because right now when I do Import it shows all the current pictures taken with my iPhone, and I only want whatever picture that hasn't already been imported, and then it would put them in my iPhone 3GS smart album (pics taken with 3GS go there).
Is there any way to do this? Aperture is a really neat program and I've already set it up with iTunes to sync the photos back to my iPhone.
Here is a screenshot of my current setup on Aperture, I'm still a bit confused on how to do everything on this so I am learning! All the help given will be very appreciated

There is a Check Box on the import panel that gives the option Do Not Import Duplicates. Ensure this is checked. Allan

  • Users of iPhone photo sync, Aperture, and stacks

For those who use Aperture and the stack feature, do you have the same problem as me when syncing to your iPhone?
    Here is the thing:
Stacks in Aperture are used to group related pictures (usually variants of the same picture). In a stack, you then choose the best picture of the stack and identify it as such. This picture is then the only one that is shown in an album once the stack is closed.
Now if you sync such an album, containing stacks, to your iPhone, the problem is that all pictures in the stack, and not only the best one, is displayed in your iPhone album.
(Note that I also posted this under the category "iPhone" in this forum.)

    More info:
This problem exist not with sync of albums on iPhone/iPad, but when syncing SMART ALBUMS.
If you sync a smart album that contains a stack of pictures, all pictures are put on the iPhone (not only the best picture of the stack as it should).
Please let me know if you have this problem (or not...)

  • Can I transfer photos from Aperture to the iPhone?

    Hi
Can I transfer photos from Aperture to the iPhone?
    Thanks, rob

Yes! Be sure you create Albums of any photo's you want in Aperture.
When you dock your iPhone and go to iTunes, under the "Photo's" section, you will see a drop down menu. Select "Aperture". Then your Albums will appear in the list below.
    Thanks, Scott K.

  • Can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5

I can not sync all photos in Aperture into Iphone 5. It always can sync some photos into 5. Then finish and prompts: "itunes can not synchronize (other)thousands of projects, and see more information in itunes".  That means most of my photos can not seen on Iphone 5, it seems just can't import to 5. Is that the problem of Iphone or the pictures in Aperture, or even just because lack of sufficient space?

    Solved here...
