I read the threads on backing up your files, etc. But my computer died (the hardrive was unrecoverable). My sister gave me her lap-top so i'm trying to sync my itouch to itunes library on my "new" computer. My sister obviously had some sort of ipod because there is an existing library (I don't care about keeping her songs) but I'd like to keep my songs because everytime I try to sync (I'd like to be able to add new songs), it threatens to erase all my songs and replace them with hers.

Google "Pod to PC". It is a freeware program that will transfer your media files to iTunes from your iPod.

Wanna buy a new computer. I wanna transfer all songs to new computer without harddrive or wires.

Im thinking of buying a desktop computer soon. Currently using a laptop. The new desktop pc will be the main itunes. So now i just want to know how to have all my songs in my laptop's itunes to be transfered into the desktop pc's storage and itunes.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

How do I purchase/download/transfer old songs to new computer and then purchase new songs and view/edit items from library?

I have a nano ipod, I no longer have the email I used to purchase and download all songs I want to purchase new songs from a new laptop with a gmail address, how can I do this? I am not sure what to do when it asks me if I want transfer and erase? I do not want to lose any itunes library of songs already purchased on old computer and old email address.

You can transfer the older purchases from your Nano to your new PC by choosing File -> Transfer purchases with the nano plugged in and appearing in iTunes. You'll need to authorize your account with the older Apple ID and credentials.

Apparently I wasn't clear. The music on my ipod is but a subset of all the music on my external hard drives. I want to import only the songs and playlists from my existing ipod into the itunes library on my new computer, which currently has no music or playlists. How can I do this?

Old laptop screen broke. Bought new computer. Bought new songs on new computer. Once shuffle connects, Store wants to wipe off all songs on shuffle before loading new songs. Is it at all possible to transfer songs from old LT, through external drive, on to new LT, then load on to shuffle. Have I lost all of my $$$?

Transferring songs to new computer

Our desktop computer is very sick and I am attempting to set up my son's iPod on our laptop. Two questions: 1-Are you able to do this? 2-If so, how do you do this without losing all of the songs and how do you transfer songs to new computer?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved also it was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation as the iPod preferences are no longer in the location described. If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back

Be more precise: is it is new mac, and want to transfer data? is it another PC running Windows/Linux of someone else or yours?
Note that Pages format is not recognized on other platforms, you must first export it is a rtf or doc or PDF format. If a mac-to-mac transfer, you may copy Pages files just like any other format. You may connect the two macs or mac and pc via wilreless network or via an ethernet cable or, if both macs, via firewire cable, if both have one (not always) or you may use an external drive as an intermediate support for migrating.
If you more precise in offering details about what you need, perhaps we may be more useful. It is also important to know what size? if you have, say, 1 GB of files, a wl connections would suffice, if many GBs, perhaps a wired connection is better, it will be faster. All details are important.

I don't know what version you have, but you cannot install a Windows edition on a Mac, you need the Mac edition.
If you have Photoshop CS6, you can swap it for a Mac version, otherwise you would have to purchase a full Mac version ($700) or enroll in the $10 per month Photography program from Adobe to use Photoshop CC.

No future updates will be issued for non CC versions. For CS6, the last one (ever) is 16.0.5.
You can install it on 2 computers at a time, and you can deactivate and install on new computers as you wish.
