Transfer iTunes account onto new pc

My itunes account is set up on my old laptop which has died. Ive set up an account with same details as before on my new laptop, but when i link up the iphone/ipod it wont allow me sync as it says its all saved to the other libary. Is there anyway I can sync up whats on my iphone/ipod to new laptop? What am I doing wrong?

I have an itunes account which is linked with my iphone.. I have recently gotten a new macbook and ipad. Is it possible to transfer from my current account to these new devices? I do not have my old macbook which the itunes account originated from, only my iphone. Do I have to create a new account? Everytime I go to backup my iphone it says it will wipe out what is on it!!! 1) authorize iTunes on your new Mac for your iTunes store account (the one you used to purchase from the iTunes store)
2) connect your iPhone and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it (as well as you iPad).

I have a new iPhone 4s that I acquired from a family member. I cannot use my iCloud account for my new phone because it is associated with another account. I also would like to use my present iTunes account with this phone but cannot do it.

Thanks for the question. It sounds like your family member has not set the phone to factory settings before giving it to you. If possible, I would contact your family member and ask them to follow these steps:

I'm trying to download my existing iTunes account onto my new computer. For one, every time I try and download it it takes a second and then says "thank you for downloading iTunes!" and after that there's nothing, no results, no download. I read the instructions, and I looked on my toolbar. There appears to be no pop-up control and I can't find anything relating to it. I have Windows 8, in case that makes a difference. This shouldn't be a problem, but it is, so....HELP???!

a) are you transfering from the ipod to the new computer, or through a hard drive? I am not getting the question.
If you are using the ipod use a program called ipod to folder to extract the music.
b) make sure you use your old itunes account from your old computer and not a new one.

Did you downgrade iTunes? What version is listed in Help> About iTunes?
If you don't have iTunes 10.5.2, download it from here -> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you have iTunes 10.5.2, try re-creating your iTunes library.

Besides the ethical and professional issues involved, the iPad appears to be linked to a different iTunes account than your personal one. Applications are tied to the account, not the device - so if you were able to use your personal account to install the apps in question, you'd be wiping out all the ones your employer put on.
If you feel these apps are necessary for your work, then talk to your supervisor/tech department about them purchasing additional copies for use on the iPad.

I have been successfully using a single iTunes account to sync & back-up two different iPhones.
One of those iPhones belongs to a now ex-boyfriend (no longer living with me), and naturally he would like to transfer the back-up data for his device to a new iTunes account (Apple ID) on a different computer. I understand that recovery of the current media on his phone (i.e. apps, music, photos, etc.) that are all stored on my computer through my iTunes account will likely not be possible, but he doesn't want to erase all the important data/content (i.e. contacts, calendar, etc.) on his iPhone without being assured that a previous back-up can be successfully restored using his new iTunes account/library.
I'm aware of the back-up location & files for his device and can provide those to him on an external USB drive, but can someone please advise exactly how the restoration/procedure should work? Or is there an alternative?

That's kind of a strange way to things, even if it's what Apple told you to do.
Do this.
- Access your *local* library
- Go to iTunes->Preferences->Advanced
- Select "Copy Files...." and "Keep iTunes Media File Oroganized"
- Locate the files you want on the external disk
- Drag them into the "Library" area of your sidebar
This will put the files in your local library and copy them to your MB.
They will still be on your external hard drive. You will have to separately delete them from that library if you want to.
