I just bought the Mac Book Pro. I have a PC and i want to transfer my itunes acount to my new mac book . how do i do that ?

The Apple store will do this for you.
You can call Apple support adn tehy will walk you through it.

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

I was anxious to transfer my iTunes music to my Mac Book Pro, but all I got was just the music. I really don't want to sit there and hook up the EQ, artwork, photos, iTunes purchases, and especially all my work and school related playlist. I am using an external hard drive.
Is there an easier way to transfer all that is iTunes (Playlist, artwork, purchases, photos, EQ settings) from my dying to my Mac?

It appears that I trashed my i Tune music files, although I'm not sure how I can check this out?
Secondly, if in fact, files are gone can I transfer my music back from my iPod back to Mac I Tunes library? Please help.

Look in the Music folder in your user Home folder. There should be an iTunes folder which will contain a couple of files and an iTunes Music folder. Examine that folder to see if the tracks are still there.

Search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your Mac.

I have a Windows 7 laptop to which I have my ipad 2 and iPhone 4s connected/backed up to, I want to transfer the sync to Macbook Pro. Please could you advise how I could do this??

Look in the Music folder on the laptop. You will find a folder named "iTunes". Copy this folder to the Music folder on the Macbook. Do this while iTunes is not running (very important). When you lauch iTunes on the Macbook after copying the folder you should see your entire music library and apps. Next Authorize iTunes on the Macbook to the same iTunes store account you had on the laptop.
Next connect the phone but do not sync. Go to the Info tab in iTunes for the phone and choose to sync Contacts with Address Book and Calendar with iCal.Alternatively, set them to sync with iCloud and also set the apps on your computer to sync with iCloud). Make sure there is at least on entry on the computer for iCal and for Address Book.
If you have photos on the iPhone also copy the photo library to the Macbook from the laptop and set the iPhone to sync to it on the Photo tab in iTunes.
After all of this if you sync you shouldn't lose anything.

You can't transfer the application since they are for different operating systems.
You would have to download iTunes for your Mac.
To transfer your songs, videos etc, just copy all the files in your ITunes directory to a portable hard drive, and connect the hard drive to your mac.
In iTunes on your mac, make sure the preference (under advanced) for "keep itunes folder organized" is checked.
Then add the folder from your portable hard drive, and all songs will will transferred to your mac.

If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music (or wherever the equivalent is on Windows) then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

You'll need to Import them into iTunes, and sync them through there if they aren't in itunes already.
Yoiu may need to convert them to a playable format for the iPad. If its a video format itunes support, you ncan make playable versions for iPad from within iPad.
Alternatively if you find a Video App such as Moli Player you can import them into the App through iTunes File sharing as well without having to change their format. Moli player is capable of playing many types of videos and audio formats.

Having problems switching itunes from pc to mac

I downloaded the migration assitance and tried to use, but nothing happened. I then tried to use external storage to transfer my itunes from my pc to new mac and pc said that the itunes file was to large to download. I am stuck! This really depends on how technical you want to get, and how much of the library data you want to retain. First, there is getting the actual song files over to your new computer. If both computers are on the same network and are on iTunes 9, you can use home sharing to transfer the song files to your new computer.
Once the files are transferred, now you have to get all of the metadata transferred, like Playlists and Song Ratings. There is a method for doing this that involves editing your Library.xml file to transfer Playlists, Playcounts, etc..
If all you want to transfer is your Playlists and song files, there are programs that will back up your playlists so you can transfer them to a new computer, but if you're able to do the above XML edits (which are pretty simple), that is preferred (and cheaper).

From your Old Computer... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
