Transfer iTunes gift credit

I received some iTunes credit through an online event I entered. However I do not have credit card information in my iTunes account and I don't use iTunes store that often, so I want to send that credit to my friend. The problem is both the sender and I have a US account (so I had no problem redeeming it), but how do I transfer that credit to my friend if he has a Canadian account? I already redeemed the code and the money is in my account, because it said "this code will only work in the US store", I want to transfer the actual money amount to his account.

In that case you could just forward the email to your friend and see if they can redeem it in their account, if it's got a code to type in.
There is no way you're getting USA credits to go to an Canadian account, though. The iTS terms forbid htat - so does every online MP3 seller. The rights holders have different deals in each country. Amazon, emusic, Rhapsody, all of them are the same. No cross-border sales.
If you try to buy a USA itunes gift card, it expressly states it can only be redeemed inteh USA store.

I got it to work from his account on my phone...i.e. I signed in to the app store as him on my phone. I got it to work, but it was a bit convoluted. I still got the same request for the verification code. I put in the code and then it asked if I still wanted to buy the game. I said no. I went back and tried to buy it again and (I can't remember if it asked for my son's password or not) and it worked. I saw the deduction in the balance too for verification.
I did later find an article with this at the very bottom. Maybe that was it all the time???

I want to transfer the money from my gift card that is "redeemed" on one of my apple IDs to my other apple ID. Is that possible? The funds haven't even been used at all, I just want them on my more current apple ID that I have associated with my new iPhone. If I log into my phone with my old ID and use the funds to buy music from iTunes will the music still be accessible when I switch the account on my phone back to my current apple ID?

Sorry but no, transfer of funds from one iTunes Store account to another is not possible. You can still buy from that old account, though, and sync the content to your iPhone. I have content from three different iTunes Store accounts on my iOS devices.

I also tried to see what I can do and I could not believe it was hard to find information on something I imagine would happen often.

Sounds like you live in Canada and are buying apps. Gift card in Canada can only be used for music and movies, not apps. The apps will use the credit card instead.

No, it's not currently possible to transfer a redeemed card to a different account, and you also won't be able to use it to gift content to the newer account (you can only gift via a credit card) - so the amount will remain linked to that old account

Qauzzy, The credit was applied to the account you used at the time you redeemed the card. There is no way to transfer the credit to another account.
You might as well just spend the $25 on the new account, and then stop using it and go back to your regular account..
For future reference, do not start a new account just because you have a problem with the code. Rather, follow the suggestions in this document: iTunes Store: Invalid, inactive, or illegible codes

How can all family members of a Family Sharing Group use a gift card that has been been applied to the iTunes master account? I added a gift card to our master iTunes account for my grandson, and even though he's a family sharing group member, none of the purchases I have approved from his requests have used the gift card credit. A search of the iTunes support site failed to turn up anything that even remotely addresses this topic. It would seem reasonable to assume that any purchase made by any family member should be able to use the gift card credit since all purchases go through the master account, but this does not appear to be the case.

Regarding redeeming the gift card to the child's account, it is the same as redeeming to yours. You have to be signed in to the iTunes store using the child's apple ID, then redeem the gift card there. If you already redeemed the card on your ID, you won't be able to redeem it again.

Open iTunes on your computer. In the iTunes Store log into your iTunes Store account and view your account. Select Edit Payment Information. In the credit card choices I would choose None. That will remove your Mom's CC info. Next under iTunes Gift Cards and Certificates click the little arrow to redeem your Gift Card. Then follow the instrction to redeem your GC.
You can also do this on your iPod, but it is more complicated to describe how to do it and to actually do it. It is easier to do in the iTunes on your computer.

I was told to first "unsynch" my iPod from her Mac using Senuti or Export on my PC, but I cannot find a free version of either program, and don't want to download a free program from a website that may be unreliable.
