Transfer iTunes libary from Mac to PC

What is the best way to transfer my 300+ songs from my Mac iTunes library to my new PC? Most songs were purchased through the iTunes misic store. Is this an authorization thing? My son has an iPod, but it sounds as if how it was formatted affects how things would transferm, and his would heave been formatted on our Mac.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!

I need to transfer an iTunes library from a Mac to a PC. How do I do that? I thought I could just download iTunes and then connect the iPod to that PC and it would sink the music from the pod to the PC but no such luck. It is making me format the iPod because it had been previously connected to the Mac. I don't want to format it unless I can transfer the music somehow.

Both the Mac and the PC will read and write to a FAT32 disk, so it should be fine. I can't see how an external drive formatted FAT32 will caude a problem for the Mac - I've used many such drives over the years and never had a problem. Connect the drive to the Mac, copy the file to the drive, eject from the Mac (don't forget that part), connect to the PC and copy it on.
But - FAT32 will not handle files larger than about 4GB (a bit less, actually), so if the file is bigger than that, you'll have to find another solution - connect via a network for example

I have my wife's iPad and iPhone synced to our Mac Mini. I purchased a new Macbook Pro for her. I want to have her iPhone and iPad now sync to the Macbook Pro and not lose any apps or data along the way. Both machines are running iTunes 11.2.1. I have read other tutorials about transfering but they are off old versions of iTunes. The new iTunes doesn't allow you to right click the device and "Transfer Purchases" manually any more. I have home share turned on and have already transfered all the music to the new Macbook.
Can someone write up a quick step by step that would allow me to sync to her new Pro without losing her app data and contacts?
I also manually sync devices on all machines instead of auto sync on plugin.

I think the method for transferring libraries hasn't changed since the very first version of iTunes.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

I want to transfer my ITUNES library, which is on my MAC onto my windows XP laptop. Using an IPOD as an external hard drive makes sense, but Windows ITUNES will not recognize the format of the IPOD and wants to restore and format it for windows. Any help or advice besides burning all of it to disks???

If iTunes is running the Automatically Add to iTunes folder would be expected to be empty. Your media should normally be in ..\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media. The library file you want to connect to should be at ..\Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl.
If your library was set up on a Mac some time ago the library file may be called iTunes Library without the .itl extension, in which case you should edit the filename to include it, but only do so if the icon indicates the extension isn't present.
I.e. if there is a file iTunes Library represented by a blank sheet, select it, press F2 on the keyboard, edit the name to iTunes Library.itl and confirm the change. Then shift-start iTunes and use the choose library option to open the library file.

How do you Transfer Itunes Playlists from Mac to Mac?

I know this question has been asked on here before, but it doesn't seem as though it has been answered. I recently bought a new MacBook and am trying to transfer my playlists in Itunes from my Imac to the new laptop. I have no problem transferring the library of songs, but I cannot seem to figure out how to transfer the playlists. Anyone know how?

Transfer itunes music from mac to pc

My daughter has a new PC laptop and I would like to get all her 900 songs off my mac and onto her PC. How do I do that? We have tried doing it via her ipod but the computer just wants to erase her ipod when she plugs it into the PC (I know this is because it's formatted to the Mac). I do have Pod to PC software and tried to use Xplay3 without any results. Is there another way to transfer the whole library?

My back up copy is on an external hard drive formatted for the Mac not a PC. I don't think this is possible for me to do. Can I burn the files to a DVD-R and then transfer them over and if so in which format should they put on the DVD-R? The support page was not helpful. No indication on how to transfer from a Mac to a PC.

The iPad is fine. But the computer you're syncing with needs to be authorised with the Apple ID that was used to buy the material on the iPad. You do this by picking the 'Authorize' item from the menu in iTunes and entering the account name and password.

If it's an iPhone, you can transfer iTunes purchases from the iPhone to the Mac using iTunes.
You probably have to authorize the Mac before doing so.
