Transfer just one song from iPod nano to mbp

Hi,
I have an 6G ipod nano and I wanted to trasnfer just one song onto my boyfriend's mbp (which is not synced to my nano). There is a transfer purchase option, but it transfers everything, is there a way to transfer just 1 song?
Thanks
Angela

Not unless you put only one song onto your device. Purchases can't be separated into single items to choose and transfer.
And remember that songs are tied to the account they were bought with. You might have to authorize the Mac, to be able to play the music.

Right click on your device in the device list and choose "transfer purchses" to copy all music bought in iTunes to your new iTunes library.
For all other media you'll have to use 3rd party software, examples are mentioned in this thread:

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

  • How can I get my iPad to play just one song from my playlist and then stop automatically?

I am a music teacher and I use the iPod on my iPad to play songs in class.  I have a long playlist of songs to choose from in each class, and I want to play just one song at a time.  I want to be able to start one song from my playlist and then walk away from my iPad and have it stop automatically when that song is over.  (I know how to make it repeat the same song over and over, but tha'ts not what I need.  I also know how to push "pause," but I don't want to have to walk away from the children to do it.) How can I make it play one song from a playlist at a time?

I don't believe that there is a way to do that except, perhaps, creating a separate Playlist for each song.

  • How to transfer songs from iPod Nano to 3GS iPhone

I have a problem-I recently purchased a new notebook. When I connect my Nano to the itunes web site I can see under devices my songs and audio books are available.I then try to connect up a new iphone that has just been purchased and after configuring it for the computer and account i can not get the songs and audio books downloaded to it.
I was wondering if I needed to save the songs to the library first on the new computer as they are not showing as being there.
I have downloaded all updated software to the computer and iPhone.

Syncing of iTunes media content (music, videos, etc.) is one-way - from the computer to the iPhone. Anything you want to transfer to the iPhone must be in your iTunes Library.

  • Transfer just one item from I-pod to computer

I have some movies on an I-pod that I seem to have lost from my computer hard drive after transferring my entire collection to a newer external hard drive (they were I-tunes purchases). I would like to move just one or two items from my I-Pod to the computer, not all my purchased items. When I do "transfer purchase items" it seems to begin moving everything. Is there a way to only upload one item at a time? It doesn't have to go my my libary if that makes a difference--I can always do that afterward.
    Thanks for any ideas,
    Larry

  • How can I copy just one song from my iPhone to my iTunes library?

I have purchased songs through the iTunes app on my iPhone 4S.  I want to get these songs on to my iPod.  I figure I need to first transfer the songs from my iPhone to my iTunes library on my PC.  Problem is it always seems to want to sync my library with my iPhone and I have way too many songs in my library to fit on my iPhone.  I just want to transfer a couple of songs from the iPhone to my library. Is there anyway to do this?

Hi, first, you should prevent the iTunes library auto sync with iPhone: Launch iTunes > click Preferences... > click Devices. In the window, check the option 'Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically'. Next, connect your iPhone with your computer via the USB cable. Click the mini menu for iTunes on the very top left and click the option 'Show menu bar'. After then you can see iTunes File, Edit, View, Control, Store and Help menus on the ribbon. Click File > Devices > Transfer purchases from (your iPhone name). You can also access to the File menu by holding down Alt (Option on Mac), Shift and F keys. This is how to get your iPhone purcahsed song transferred to iTunes Library.

  • How do you dowload songs from iPod nano 7th generation to iTunes on another computer?

I have iTunes on two computers. I bought a movie on one computer, but through a series of events had to erase my iPod on that computer and sync it to a different computer. Now, it will not sync the movie unless it is on the computer I bought the movie from. Because I erased my iPod on the computer I bought the movie, I have to download my iPod to the computer I bought the movie on in order to sync the movie to my iPod. How do you download everything on the Ipod nano 7th generation to iTunes on another computer?

  • How to transfer non-purchased music from iPod Nano to new a computer?

The title pretty much explains my delimma.  I had to buy a new laptop and am trying to move my music library from my Nano to the new computer.  I've installed iTunes and can easily transfer my iTunes purchased music, trouble is a lot of my music has been downloaded from CDs.
Can anyone help a girl out?

Create a folder on your desktop. In iTunes select all the songs you want to transfer. Drag them from iTunes to the folder. Transfer the folder to the new computer. Select all the songs in the folder and drag them to the 'Music' section of iTunes.

  • Deleting songs from IPOD Nano...how to do this ?

I mistakenly added a large number of songs to my wife's IPOD Nano, intended for my own personal IPOD.I still do not know how this happened. I can't find any link or directions on *how to delete specific songs from my wife's plugged in devise "Music" icon under her Devise.* Highlighting the song and using Edit/delete does not work. PLEASE TAKE ME THROUGH THIS REMEDY STEP BY STEP, as I am new to this devise's operation and menus.
    Thank You for your help

    Hello kamerakid,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
How you delete music from the iPod depends on how you have it set up to sync with your computer, which will either be automatically or manually.
If you sync it automatically, what settings do you have configured from under the Music tab for her iPod in iTunes? Do you have the "sync only checked songs and videos" option enabled from under the Summary tab?
It sounds like you were trying to manually remove songs from her iPod, which can only be done if you manually manage the iPod's contents. In order to manually manage the iPod's contents, you need to enable the "Manually manage music and videos" option from under the iPod's Summary tab.
